:thumbup1:It happens to all of us. As the diet changes your bodies react differently, some continue to lose and some dont, my Doc said get off the scale and let us weigh you when you come in, because you will find that your weight changes with eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom, and if your exercising, your muscle mass will increase and muscle is heavier than fat. The best thing we can do is keep following our diets and exercising and remaining healthy in choices. I have been in a stall for quite a while, I am averaging 1 to 2 lbs a week, Im fixing to kick in more/different exercises, that should do the trick. (fingers crossed) lol
  2. If you need any help, feel free to call me 601-772-9740, Im in my sixth week now. Im still learning, but glad to help share what I have learned so far. Congrats! You will be happy, I am so far, and havent met anyone who isnt. :) Sheri

Sounds like you could make a blender bottle yourself with a Martini shaker. I love making things. Im weird like that, lol. Im closing in on 6 weeks, I am in the Mushies stage. Mashed Potatoes are great and you can mix them up so many ways. I accually ate them before I was spose to, they went down easier for me than 3 min eggs. I eat them slow, a few bites then I wait 15 min, if I still want more, I do more, no problems so far. Gritts are great, but they say not too, because they swell and really dont get anything from them. Bushes Baked beans........awesome. Finally some flavor. Ofcourse Im not regular though, lol. Gonna ask Dr. if I can start some fiber pills to help with that, its really hard to get variety in ur diet to keep you regular, still not getting enough water, but, found a cheat....WATERMELON! Awesome, I chew it well, not much to it really, and its all water with good refreshing taste, its my Savior so far.@ mhopkins, where in south Ms.?

Thats awesome! .....samples, never thought that far ahead. lol I was told by a friend of mine that had the bypass done, she gets the smallest burger without the top bun, the bread is too much for her. I think thats what I will do also, besides I dont like the top bun anyway. haha Tonight I baked a potato than I spooned out the insides ( I did it carefully, saving the shell to make my hubby a snack by filling it with bacon and cheese etc.) then I put the potato in a small pot added broth then cottage cheese and a dab of butter with some Tony's seasoning (gave it a lil kick) very good. Would enjoy any ideas to change things up a bit. Thanks!

@fatnomore50, Thanks! And I will do the same for you since Im a month out. @swiftflow, I will check it out, my problem is finding something I like first, then ordering it. So far all I really like is Muscle milk, found at walmarts, and feel free to call me if anyone wants to talk "sleeve" lol 601-772-9740 Thanks again, Sheri.
  6. Hello everyone! Are there any other Southern girls near my area that were sleeved? I thought it would be easy to compare experiences and shopping. I know not all areas have the same stores and products. I have had a hard time finding some of the proteins suggested by the nutritionist. Thanks SHeri:redface1:

I understand how you feel, I have always been a very active person, when I first had the sleeve I was dragging, and then I started having my coffee in the morning, and it has helped most days, but I definitely dont have the energy I used to. I do sometimes get dizzy, but I think thats from lack of food or certain foods. Your body isnt getting fueled like it used to. I have a problem getting enough water, I used to drink water like crazy, but I have to sip, and when I have been working in the yard and dieing for water, sipping it sucks, and I tend to drink to much and it doesnt feel good. In order to get the energy when I have alot to do I cheat, I fill up on caffiene any way I can. I dont excersize like most have, I have 10 dogs and 2 horses, among other critters, and they keep me busy. Spring has help also. I love gardening and yard work. Thats how I get my excersize. I used to use my eliptical, but its out of order presently. We do have a excersize bike and I may start using that, because my legs are getting a bit fluffy. lol. Just remember, this is a whole new life for all of us, retraining our bodies with proper nutrition and I think the small amounts just might be the reason we feel a little week and exhausted. Our bodies are still big but the "gas tank" isnt. This is just an opinion, take notes on your days and talk to the Dr. about your concerns. Good Luck! Sheri:smile1:
  9. :001_tt2:Love this thread! I have only told my family and a few close friends, if anyone says anything stupid I just say for over ten years I have had high cholesterol and failed miserably to get it down. The final straw was being told I would be on Diabetes meds shortly in the future. One of my favorite come backs would have to be " You can fix fat but you cant fix ugly". Or you can just say "God doesnt like Ugly". But until someone walks in your shoes, they just have a hard time understanding.

:lol0:I was sleeved on March 25th also. Im on day 28. Highest weight 229, preop 210, today 188. I am 5 ft tall, the Dr.'s goal weight is 110, mine is 140. Im muscular and big boned, I dont think 110 is possible for me. I have enjoyed reading everyones posts. It is very helpful. I am going to try soft eggs, I hope I have as much success with eggs as most of you have. If yall have any other recipe ideas please let me know. Im from New Orleans, so flavor is absolutely necessary. lol I am living in Mississippi now. Glad to meet you all! Sheri chichis30@yahoo.com
  11. I would like that chili recipe. Can you send it to me ( chichis30@yahoo.com) I am day 28 post sleeve. I am new to the group and still learning my way around this website. Thanks. Sheri
  12. I am at the oatmeal stage, day 28. However, wouldnt 3 minute eggs be easier to digest than oatmeal, The calendar can be a bit confusing to me, at smoothie stage you can have blended fruit, but then at day 34 it says you can have can fruit. Isnt that just as mushy? Just like with the creamed soups, you can eat split pea, but then 2 weeks later it says you can have beans. I may try the 3 min. eggs sooner and see how it goes. Thanks for the input, I welcome it and any more ideas. Sheri
  13. When did you try soft cooked eggs? I am craving some. Everything I have eaten so far is not something I ever really wanted. I am on day 27. Still doing creamed Soups, yogurt, smoothies, etc.

    Lost in Oz

I had the sleeve on March 25th 2010, its been 27 days now, I was a little different than most. I am big boned, and my heaviest weight was 229, Im 5 ft tall, I always lose weight in the spring only to gain it back in the winter, I had my consultation on th 19th of March (i weighed 214 and to my surprised the Dr. scheduled the surgery for the 25th of the same month. I agreed, less time to back out. I did a 3 day fast and at pre op I weighed 209, everything went extremely well, there is only 2 incissions, and because Im a bit muscular, there is not as much lose skin as most, I am now down to 188, goal weight for my Dr. is 110 (no way, as I said Im big boned) for me? 150 would be awesome. What I need help with is" what foods can I eat now?" all they gave me was a calendar chart, it shows week to week change in "types" of food I can eat, sugar free liquids, then puddings, then cream soups, then smoothies, oatmeal, etc.... I need a change, badly. Does anyone have a more detailed list of foods to eat as the weeks progress? thanks Sheri
