    April 2010 Sleevers!

I have been satisfied with the whey protein I'm using and didn't even think of trying the egg white protein! Thanks for mentioning that! The orange crystal light sounds good with it! Question: does the egg white powder come in flavors like the whey? What brand do you like?

    Need advice

Hi Sheryl! I know I have had times when life seemed out of control and I was not eating right. I am concerned that since I eat so little now, I have to be sure to eat nutritious foods. I have found that I have to slow things down and stock the fridge with veggies and Protein. I've found some deli foods that I like...peppered turkey breast meat, chicken salads (without pastas), bean salads....it helps me if I can have something I can grab fast. I started cutting up salads (with every color of veggie), then store it in a plastic food container with a paper towel on the top. I store it upside down so the excess moisture gets absorbed by the paper towel, and I change the towel when it gets damp. I've found I can make one salad and then eat on it for 4-5 days! I've bought baked chicken breast at the deli then sliced off portions to put on the salad. I guess, for me, it helps to have the right food easy to prepare. Try going to the store 2x a week and concentrate on stocking your fridge with protein and veggies. Don't buy anything that is high in calories and you can't stop eating. For some it's pork rinds:001_tt2:, for me it's sweets! I hope you get to feeling better physically so you can move more. You might try getting some shoes with better cushioning under your feet. I'm pulling for you! You can do it! Don't let a slip-up get you down. Just start the next day out with the right foods!

    April 2010 Sleevers!

I never thought of naming my sleeve, but I like that idea! It does seem like a little entity that has a big say in my life now! I'm so glad that we're sharing, April sleevers. I've missed you. It's good to have buddies that started at the same time and are traveling this road together.

    April 2010 Sleevers!

I've heard some good things about zumba from others in the group. I'd like to try it too, with a couple of drinks down me!!!:tongue_smilie: We have an eliptical machine and bowflex at home, but I need to find a way to make it fun to walk in there and get started. My husband says the hardest part of exercising is the first 10 minutes -- just getting yourself in there and starting! He's a very wise man.

    April 2010 Sleevers!

Hi Fellow April Sleevers! I'm down 57 lbs. From a 3x top to a 18, from 24/26 pants to 14/16. Still a challenge to drink enough. I'm on a 10 day stall but I've noticed my body will do that, then I'll lost 5 lbs in a week, then stall again. Exercising A LOT! Serious weekend landscaping for about a month now: shoveling, raking, hoeing, carrying heavy weights, finally ready to do a fall grass seeding tomorrow. Learned how to operate a Kabuta (spelled right?); I love power "tools!" Doing an aerobic exercise DVD 2x a week with a girlfriend. My stamina and strength has improved so much that I feel like I'm 15 years younger! I'm full of piss and vinegar!!!!!!! No loss of hair that I can tell, but plenty of loose skin all over! Glad you enlivened our thread so we can see how the April losers are doing!!! How about it? Anyone else want to share?
  8. I feel the same way you do! About the amazing weight loss after giving up on EVER losing weight....about the helpfulness of this forum...everything! Thank you for posting. You look great!
  9. That was very compassionate of you to offer to help Carrie in her move to Washington State. Kudos.

    My situation

Hi Carrie! I hope you will continue to confide in someone, although you may not choose here or your husband. I think it's important to tell at least one person who supports you unconditionally how you truly feel about things. I am concerned that you are in a depression state. Washington is a very rainy state, and you're coming in the Fall, so the weather will be overcast. Wait, I'm assuming you'll be in the western part of the state? Anyway, I hope you talk to a doctor about how you are feeling. You sound almost suicidal. And angry. And hopeless feeling. That's a rotten place to be. Sending you a mental hug.

    Tomorrow is SLEEVE DAY!

    1. I drank a small can of V8 yesterday and finished it with NO PAIN yayyy! So that was huge for me. I'm glad to hear your pain is gone! 2. I never feel hungry, I do get thirsty (probably because I'm still not at 64 oz.). I still have yet to feel a hunger pang! I think that is the GREATEST part of my sleeve experience. I had problems drinking enough fluids, too. I had to really discipline myself to have something handy and sip.sip.sip all day long. I still have problems drinking enough fluids. I wish I could guzzle it like I used to! 3. I can't even think about Protein right now, still trying to get all my fluids in. Once I starting eating I will try and eat high protein items if possible. Are you using liquid Protein? It's so important for healing... 4. My body is tired :001_huh: ...I see on many posts others going on trips, and outings and feeling fine, but that's not me at all. I can't even go out for an 1 hour without feeling totally drained. I'm so happy I took a month off. I was tired a lot, too. It will pass. I'm glad you're listening to your body. It's great that you have a month to recuperate! I'm watching for your posts to follow your progress! It's going to be great when you start posting your "shout outs!"
  12. Hi Christie! I wanted to give you the thumbs up on your new avatar. The beauty of your face is really coming through. LOVE the hair color. I should do something like that too!

Congratulations! You are making great progress!

  13. I did, too. I had it once. I was bent over with pain in my midsection, nauseau, dizziness. Not pleasant. In my case, I had eaten some icecream on an empty stomach. Quickly, and too much.
  14. You may want to read up on dumping syndrone: dumping syndrome - Bing Health I am just beginning to understand how common this can be after this surgery.

    Tomorrow is SLEEVE DAY!

You sound better today. That's great. Now, I didn't have much trouble with my surgery, but it was hard for me to get the fluids down. Sip, Sip, walk, walk... our mantra! I'm looking forward to seeing your posts of how much weight you've lost as you go through the process. Healing thoughts.

    Aceves Question

I bought two meals: lunch and dinner. They told us to enjoy our "last meal" and not worry about we ate, so I did exactly that! But I used my debit card for the meals and tips. It was handy to have a lot of dollar bills for bellboys, waiters, and such... Then at the airport, I bought fluids with cash. I was lucky to have someone pick me up at the airport, so I didn't have to worry about parking or getting gas. Does that help?

  23. I hope things get resolved during the surgery and things get better for you. I can't help but feel so lucky that I've never had a moment's problem. I'll watch to see your next post to see how you're doing.

    Need advice

It seems like if I "fill my sleeve" with the salad/chicken, it prevents me from grazing. I know what foods I can eat too much of because they are sliders. One, for me, is popcorn; I can eat a whole bag of popcorn before I get full. So I try to fill my sleeve 3x a day with the right stuff. That seems to keep me from going to the sliders so much.
