I paid 16,000 for an excellent Dr. in San Fran. Drs jossart and Cirangle have a practice there, very easy and great care provided.

Has anyone had their sleeve done with Dr. Nick? Has anyone traveled from another state to do it? How long of a pre op program do you have to go through? Any infor would be appreciated. Thanks, Judy

Needing Advice/Help!
Curvyjudy replied to Skyhigh315's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I am not sleeved yet, will be in 7 days though! Anyway, I am concerned about you and want to send a little note. I have heard of egg white protein and pea protein you could try one of those to make a protein shake... You really do need to figure out how to get some protein in you! Good Luck, Judy -

Hi Lootzie, Nice to meet you! I bet we will run into each other as we walk the halls... are you staying at the Kabuki Hotel by any chance? My surgery is at 7am, when is yours? I can't wait to have this all over with... I have not been able to control my eating lately and have gained a few pounds... hoping Dr. Jossart will not be too upset with me. Judy (Curvyjudy) -

Hi, I am flying from NY to San Fran to have my surgery with Dr. Jossart on June 28th. I am very confident in his abilities and am not nervous about the surgery at all.. more worried about flying home not feeling my best. I can't wait to have it all over with. There are a few others that I see on the boards that have had a surgeon from Dr. Jossart's practice. Judy -
That is my date too! Can't wait for the 28th.. of June! judy

Curvyjudy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All, I have my surgery date on June 28th and i will be traveling across the country for it. I planned my return trip 4 days post op and not am afraid it might have been a bad idea. Those of you post op, would you have been able to take a full day of travel on day 4? How did you feel by then? I realize I will be different, but just wondering about others experiences.. so i can better prepare. Will be traveling from Calif back to NY on day 4. Any thoughts or ideas on how to travel comfortably would be great! Thanks! judy -
Hi All, I have been reading everyone's posts for awhile now and appreciate all the info I have been getting. Thanks, I am looking for a Dr. in the Northeast to do my VSG, but am having trouble finding one. I would be willing to travel, but would prefer to drive, so anyone in driving distance... Mass, NJ, CT, etc. Does anyone know of some experienced Drs up here? Thanks, Judy

My date is June 28th too! i live in NY, but am traveling to San Fransisco for my surgery. Exciting and scary at the same time! Hope to see your posts to know how you are doing. Judy -
Hi Tiffykins, I am currently doing some research in the hopes of getting the VSG soon. I was wondering if you could send me some of the links/research you have compiled. I have noticed you offering to others, so I thought I would ask. I was originally thinking about DR Aceves, but my family is discouraging me from Mexico, so I am looking for other options too. You were kind enough to answer my post yesterday about looking for Dr. and I appreciate it. Any info would be great! Thanks Judy jddutton1962@yahoo.com

Question about sleeping positions
Curvyjudy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All, I am getting ready for my June 28th surgery for the sleeve... yeah! My question today is it allowed to sleep on your side after surgery? I have a mild/moderate sleep apnea that I deal with by sleeping on my side. If I sleep on my back I wake up often and don't sleep well at all. When will I be able to sleep on my side? Anyone know? thanks, judy -
Hi All, I just had my phone consult with the nutritionist and now am a bit nervous about it. She talked about the calorie level post op being about 650 and I just can't imagine living on that amount.... do all you sleevers really live on calories per day?! I think a 1000 would be low enough.... always thought metabolism slowed down under 1000... I feel like I want to take in more calories than my Dr is recommending....yikes.... I would love to know others thoughts on this.. Thanks, judy June 28th sleeve date

Hi, I am trying to figure out a date for my sleeve surgery. In the patient info from Dr. Aceves in Mexicali, it only talks about a pre op diet for those with over 40 bmi's. I am 5ft6in and 235 and have a bmi of about 37. So, what does that mean for me diet wise before surgery. I am trying to pick a date around vacations already planned and am not sure I could do a special diet during vacations.. depends on what it is i guess. Anyway, any info would be great. Thanks, judy

Curvyjudy replied to Can.sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know that a previous poster said they haven't heard of any problems with jossert and Cirangle in San Fran, but someone wrote after that someplace is sloppy and referred to it as J/E... does anyone know the place this refers to? I am looking into Jossert in San Fran or Nickelson in TX...and just want to heard all that is said about them both. thanks! -

Curvyjudy posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has BSof NENY for an insurance company and how hard it was to get approval for sleeve surgery. I also stumbled acrossed a list of insurance companies that cover WLS, but now i can't find it again. Has anyone else seen that list and remember where it was located? Thanks for any and all info. Albany,NY Surgeons...anyone?
Curvyjudy replied to Curvyjudy's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
HI, I am scheduled for all my meetings prior to meeting Dr. Singh and have an appt with him on June 24th. I am wanting the sleeve too. Do you know how far out he is scheduling surgeries? I am wondering when i meet with him on the 24th how far from that date my surgery will be. I am keeping my fingers crossed for insurance to cover me, but I seem to fit the qualifications. Do you also know when the office puts it in to my insurance carrier? On the first education visit, or some other visit? Thank you so much for writing, i so appreciate any and all info you can share with me. Judy -
Hi, Wondering if anyone has had experience with any surgeons in Upstate NY. I have heard of Dr. Singh, but hoping someone might have something to say about him. Thanks, Judy
