  1. I too am Canadian, (Vancouver) and I went alone. I'm glad I went alone because I would have been worried about my companion being bored. I jsut rested, watched movies and walked the halls. I had no issues going alone. On the way back I asked for a wheel chair and they assisted with my luggage. All was well.
  2. I had my surgery by Dr.Rod and I had a fantastic experience. I was a bit nauseous when I left and a doctor called me for the next four days to make sure all was well. When I was in the hospital a doctor stayed all night with the nurses in case anything went wrong with any of the patients. They are competent and caring.
  3. How about making some homemade chicken or beef broth? That is what I lived on for about a week and a half as I could not tolerate sweet shakes.
  4. I had my surgery 13 days before you and there is no way I could eat what you have posted. I'm still on mushy foods. I tried eating some chicken, pureed and it took like two teaspoons and I was full. I hope everything is okay with you. Let us know what your doctor says.

    Venting/stalled/trouble

Wow! I too had my surgery on May 21st and weighed 257. I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow on my three week post-op date. I know I'm not losing like gang busters. I am kinda scared to see the number.

    Piercings/Jewelry?

They asked me to take out my piercings but I refused. I have my nose and tragus pierced.
  7. If you put his name in the search box up in the right hand corner numerous threads will come up as many people have indeed used this surgeon. Good luck.

    Almost time!

Good luck! And how nice you have so much support with you.

    Is it possible

I sure hope not. For my weight I'm, so far, a super slow loser. It's so hard not to compare to others but it's a bit disheartening when others lose 20 plus pounds the first two weeks and I have only lost 8. So I can totally commiserate with your pain. All we can do is follow the plan, exercise and think positive.

    Sugar Free Stuff Post Op

For me if I were to eat a sugar laden popsicle it would bring on carb cravings. That is something I can do without. I have been making homemade popsicles and I use stevia as I don't want to consume to much aspartame.
  11. I would ask Belite for some email addresses of patients that have had the super sleeve. They would be the best ones to answer your questions. Good luck.
  12. While I was at the INT hospital another patient had the "Super Sleeve". She was absolutely thrilled with her choice. She was up the next day looking very chipper and wanted to go shopping.
  13. While I was there, (May 21st) a fellow patient got the super sleeve. She was very happy with her decision. She also was doing very well after her surgery. She wanted to go shopping and she said that the surgery was a breeze and she felt great.
  14. I use an ice shaver so it's like having a snow cone. I add all sorts of flavouring (sugarless) and it has been helping get down the liquids.
  15. Push any negative thoughts aside an just think positive! How healthy you are going to be, the clothes you will be able to wear, mobility will be increased, etc. Take a look a the before and afters at the other site. Good luck!
