Welcome to LBT and congrats on your surgery date!
-
I eat shrimp too! No problems here. Just try it, you'll never know until you do!
-
You'll find that if you put some on a plate, push it around some, cut it up a little, people don't realize you aren't actually eating it. They see you get it and then then don't care, it's when you don't take it they realize you aren't eating it. Then when you get a chance throw it away! It works every time for me!

Walking and a heating pad worked wonders for me.

Welcome to LBT and good luck!:girl_hug:

I have to eat an apple very slowly, and then only about half of it. It just seems to sit in my belly! I don't peel it, but take very small bites and chew the heck out of it.

Hi Y'all, Just popping in here and reading what I missed today! I am in the middle of supper, so can't stay long. Darcy - Glad you got a new treadmill! I know you will use it too! We all want to keep our parents as long as we can, no matter what. I sometimes think that when they get that old and then get sick, just let them do what they want to. Let them enjoy what is left of their lives. I know if it was happening to me, I would just want to enjoy what I had left. It hurts to sit by and watch them do it to themselves, but sometimes we just have to. If he has an aggressive type of cancer, I doubt him staying sober will help it at all. Just enjoy him anyway you can until you can't. Hugs sweetie! Call me if you need a shoulder to cry on! Chris must be too busy with her sweetie!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :heh: :heh: Kat - I even tried the pedometer on my shoe laces, it still didn't work for me! I guess I am just weird! Eileen - Gosh, I didn't know we were supposed to eat just for good health! I have been doing it totally wrong for so many years it's too late to change me now! I just like the good tasting stuff! :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: Opps, forgot my supper, gotta RUN! Catch you later, or in the morning!

Walmart and Krogers carries it here in Texas.

Good Morning Y'all! Gosh, I can't type this morning! Took me three trys to get good morning right! Sherry - Your recipe sounds really good! I'll have to try it! Eileen - I really think it is more of a heart healthy diet more than a weight loss diet. I think he makes some good points, but I don't think it will get you skinny! Maybe if you only have 10 or 20 pounds to lose it might be alright. Darcy - How is DFIL today? My prayers are with you and your family right now. Hugs to you sweetie! Cindy - you are doing great with the exercise! I never seem to get a pedometer to work for me. I can go the same distance and come up with 3 different numbers on it! Crazy! Dianne - How you doing today? Hope things are getting better for you! Well, I need to go check out the board and see what needs to be deleted real fast then go get dressed. Back to the old grind today! Have a good one!

Banded, Confused, and Bummed Out...Should I Remove It?
Iluvharleys replied to bbw1924's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with everything that was said. If you have only had one fill, you aren't even at a point that will restrict your eating. It took me about 5 fills before I got my restriction. Don't give up untill you give it a chance. If you think you won't be able to eat, you will be able to. I eat anything I want, I just watch the portions. Just my opinion! -
What great nsv's! Those are the best ones!

Good Morning Y'all! Gosh, it's nice to have my computer back! You don't realize how much you actually use it until you don't have it! Back to work, I sure could use one more day off! Maybe one all for myself! Eileen - Is today the day you find out about the new job? Good luck, keeping my fingers, legs, eyes, all crossed for you! Darcy - How is DFIL doing today? Hopefully yesterday wasn't too bad of a day for you! Dianne - Same question for you, hope your day is better too! Beanie - Hope you are safe and sound while traveling. I would like to be in your backseat! (That is if you have one) Cindy - It is awsome the miles you put in regardless of how you got them! I sure miss walking, I imagine I will never be able to do it as an exercise again. Deb - Sure hope you are doing ok after the accident. Mandy - Are you on the upside of being sick now? Kat - I am lucky, my DB is a whiz at the computers. He actually writes a bunch of his programs etc. I don't know what I would do without his help. I just give him a shout and if he can't help me over the phone, then he comes over and fixes me up! I don't know Jack Daniels about fixing it, I can use them pretty good, just not fix them. Sherry - How ya feeling now sweetie? Are you still flashing? (thought that would get your attention) Your chicken sounded real good yesterday. I ended up fixing catfish, I love it but can't eat much of it. Pat - Hey girlie, come out and play! Patty - What's up?????? You didn't give up did you? Mary - How are your computer problems? Hope you get them fixed fast! Chrispy - Your fella sounds like a winner to me! He just sounds so sweet. Cassie - How are the wedding plans going? I am still reading the "you on a diet" book. It is funny to read and you do learn some stuff from it. I don't know that I agree with everything. I know on the show I saw him on he recommended taking 2 low dose asprin. I ask my doctor about that when I went (pcp) and he said no, he doesn't agree with that. He thinks everyone should take 1 low dose one, and he said he actually thought in the future they would lower the dose to 40 because of all the brusing it causes. But some of the recipes in the book are not the kind I would make. Oh well, to each it's own. Well, got to go fix my lunch and get dressed! Catch you all later!

You'll go through all kinds of emotions between now and the surgery date. Just keep busy and you'll be fine. In the meantime, read as much as you can about it and you'll feel much more relaxed. -

Welcome to LBT! Good luck, and keep us posted! -
Hello Y'all! What a week, my monitor went out on my computer and I was without it all week! I had withdrawals bad! I was going to go buy a new one and my DB said don't because he had a bunch of them and I could just have one, but I couldn't get over there untill today. So, now I am back in business. I just finished reading all the old posts and I am sorry I wasn't here to let y'all know my thoughts were with you. So much has happened to everyone! Darcy - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hopefull DFIL will come around and heal up fast. Dianne - Sorry you are going though so much too! Gosh, you have really had your share of things lately. Kat - Gosh, that guy sounds scary! Just beware of your surroundings when you go shopping etc. More than anything, he sounds like he can't control his temper and shut his mouth, but so many people just lose it and can't control themselves anymore. Just be very careful! Eileen - good luck on the new job! I can't wait to hear the details! It would be great if you came down Texas way! Beanie - Have fun in Tucson! We used to go there every year, but since DFIL passed we haven't been back. My DH still has family there though. Maybe someday we can take a trip out there. I love the mountains out there. We always went down to Mexico while we were there shopping too. Mandy - Gosh, I hope you start feeling better soon! Cindy - 52! You are amazing lady! Deb - Welcome! Nice to meet you! Well, I am going to get off here and get my work done, I was gone too long and now I am way behind. I might get to check later! It's darn good to be back though! I really missed you guys!
-
Good Morning Y'all! Beautiful pictures Darcy! I used to love to look out at a fresh snow, it's so beautiful when you're indoors! :) Beanie - How did the meeting go? Fill us in please! Did you learn any good info you might share with us? Sherry - Awww, sorry about the angel! You will have to take a picture of the new one for us! Mandy - Sending you some "get well" vibes! You have been sick long enough now! Dianne - Glad you survived the apricots! Fruit is a little tricky for me, I can eat a small amount of it, but not too much at a time. Kat - Sorry you have to clean your house all over again. It's a shame we do so much work before company, only to turn around and have to do it all over again. Crazy aren't we? Eileen - How's the cold girlie? Did I hear y'all got more snow? Cindy - Sounds like the perfect job for you! Let us know how things go! Yikes, I'm still in my gown and it's almost time for me to leave~ Later girls!

I think we need to know what kind of solids you are trying to eat first of all. Can you give us a sample of the things you have tried?

Here's the one I made: Broccoli salad 2 bunches of crown broccoli 1/2 lb bacon cooked till crisp 1/2 sweet onion chopped fine 3/4 cup mayo 1-1/2 Tablespoons lemon juice 1 Tablespoon sugar sub. salt & pepper 1/4 cup sunflower seeds 2 Tablespoons dried currants (or raisins) I steamed my broccoli until it was tender. Mix mayo, lemon juice, sweetner, salt and peper together. Mix onlion and currants to dressing. (I didn't use the currants because I didn't have any and it was still really good) I crumbled my bacon and added it and the sunflower seeds right before I served it so they would stay crunchy. I'll have to try yours Eileen, it sounds yummy too!
-
Good Morning Y'all! Running extremely late today! Just couldn't get my butt moving fast this morning. I fixed a really good broccoli salad yesterday, I just loved it! I am not a big broccoli eater, but can tolerate it occassionally. If anybody wants the recipe, I will post it for you. It is a low carb recipe. Everyone have a great day and I'll catch you later tonight.
