Thanks Marie, it's not that I don't want to drive anywhere, I just don't know how to get there! lol. The drivers here in Dallas is bad, and I heard Houston was even worse. I don't know if I would want to ride in that traffic. We rode to Garland yesterday, it was a beautiful day for riding here. We had to be stopped for 3 funerals! We had a good time though. Betty

I eat a Blue Bunny fudge bar every night, it just kind of signals me that that is the last thing I can eat for the night. It is only 35 calories, and it is one serving. Betty -

Ryan - I am sorry you didn't get to take the day off and go riding, but you sound as if you got your head straight anyway. Just think of how everything will be better for you once you get all healed up. You can do it! Betty -
Best of luck to you both! Please post and let us know how your experience was. Betty

Relax a little girl! Yup, that heat is a killer. When I went it was 105 degrees, on blacktop whick made it even worse. We got very few breaks, and had to wear the long sleeves, helmet and high top boots and gloves. That part was awful. When we broke for lunch, I couldn't eat either (and I am not banded) I just sat there with the air going to cool my body down. On the last day it got so bad I almost said I have to quit, I can't take this heat, but somehow I managed. We had about 30 in our class, and the test was the last thing we did. We had class the first evening, then riding all day Sat. and almost all of Sun, then go to the classroom the last hour for the test. I think the one thing that saved me was the group I was in was a fun group. Even though we were miserable, we made it fun. It will be over before you know it, and you will learn some things from it. And you will be legal to ride! Betty

Lisa - NSV is anything that doesn't have to do with the scales. You get a compliment, clothes fit better, etc. It means non scale victory. Betty

Penni - I know it has been a rough week for you. I know it also meant the world to your Mom for you to be there. I hope you will get some rest for yourself now. Have a safe trip. Betty

Darcy - You sound like you have a good system. It is nice to have a partner to do things with you. Have fun at the game, and at the cabin. Lisa - Thanks! My DH took me out to dinner and a few too many beers, but since I don't drink too much anyway it was a cheap one for him. Betty

Surgery date may be postponed

Ryan - I am sorry you have to wait, but as all the others said, it's not over, it is just a small block and you will move that block and continue on your journey. Lake Michigan, you sure brought back some memories with that. We used to go to Tower Hill all the time, climb that big hill and run back down. Oh, to have that energy now! Yes, I think that would be a good place to go and gather your thoughts. It is a very calming place. When you get your thoughts back together, come and visit, we will be here for you. We all need to have our hand held sometime or another. Just vent all you want to us, that is part of the reason for this board. It is not only meant for the good things that happen, it is meant for real support when things go wrong, or we get bad news, or we fall off our journey, or even if we have just had a bad day and we need a friend. My thoughts are with you my friend, take care on that ride! Betty -

Hi Kari! What Blossom said is great advice. I have read the boards and went to the internet and looked up several sites. You will get tons of imformation just reading all the threads here. Wow Donali you do good work! You can come and stay at my house anytime. I wouldn't know what to do if my husband didn't watch sports, he loves them all. It usually don't bother me, I love to watch the Mavericks play, and I love NASCAR, but I get some me time for reading etc. when he watches the rest. Good Luck on finishing, I just know you can do it! Betty
