Getting that car was a spur of the moment thing, and if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. My car started having problems, and although I loved that car I couldn't keep it. I probably would have kept it for another 5 years or so, but couldn't. Well, I had it in my head that I wanted a convertible, and my hubby didn't. We got into a big time argument over the whole thing. I told him this was supposed to be my car, why can't I get what I want? Well, I went and looked at all the convertibles, and when I saw this one, well I just had to have it. My first car was a Camero convertible (red no stripes) and I loved it. So, I argued till I got it. The problem is we can't take people with us as the backseat is so small. As for me driving it, I love it, but it does create problems when we have out of town guests. It is not a very comfortable car for taking trips either. And like I said the police love it too. My hubby has a really bad heavy foot, so it is not the best car for him to drive. Every guy that pulls up beside you wants to race. I drove a truck the other day, and I almost wish I had it.

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?

Lisa - I don't know it they still have them or not, but a while back I bought the whole set at Walmart. -
Leatha - I have the camero, and it's a red convertable with racing stripes. (second childhood) I don't think I would ever get another one, the cops watch me like crazy! I keep a radar dector going all the time which really helps me. I think the cops in Texas are worse than any place I have ever been. Do you have a radar detector? I wouldn't drive without one anymore. It has really saved me several times over! I like all kinds of music, I just don't really get into the rap or hard rock. Everything else is fine for me, I just like music.
-
O.K. Leatha, what kind of hot rod do you have? I can't yell too much, I have a heavy foot too! It's a little different when your riding instead of driving though!
-
Leatha - I live all kinds of music, except hard rock. My favorites are Country Western and Oldies but Goodies. lol Blossom - Are you still planning on coming with your surgery so close? I hope you can still make it. Becky - Come on down! I would love to meet you! Yeah, this is kind of a quickie idea, but it will be fun. I just didn't know if anyone lived close enough to Texas to come. Lisa - I will go with what everyone else wants to do. It doesn't matter to me where we stay. I haven't been to that part of Texas, so it will all be new to me wherever you decide.

Are any of you girls coming from out of town to Texas?

Becky - That sounds like fun! Are you going to post some pictures? Please do! Here's a joke on boobs: A young boy asks his father "Dad, is it OK for us guys to notice all the different kind of boobs?" Surprised, the father answers, "Well, sure son, we wouldn't be normal if we didn't. There are all kinds of breast depending on a woman's age. In her twenties, a woman's breasts are like melons, round and firm. In her thirties to forties, they are like pears, still nice but hanging a bit. After fifty, they are like onions." "Onions, Dad?" "Yeah, you see them and they make you cry." Not to be outdone, his sister asks her mother, "Mom, how many kind of weenies are there?" The mother, delighted to have equal time, answers, "Well, daughter, a man goes through three phases. In a man's twenties, a man's weenie is like an oak, mighty and hard. In his thirties and forties, it is like a birch flexible but reliable. After his fifties, it is like a Christmas tree." "A Christmas tree?" "Yep, dried up and the balls are only there for decoration." -
Welcome! I hope you post more often. Welcome to bandland!

Whoooo Hooooo Blossom! I am really excited for you! I know you have waited a long time for this. It will be here before you know it. I had to wait for the call the day before too, to tell me what time to be there, and it was 5:30 even though I wasn't the first one. I was put in a room and they didn't come and get me till after 11:00, although they did put in IV's and the whole crew from the surgery came in a few at a time and told me what to expect. Good Luck to you, and please post when you feel better. Are you staying the night? I would advise it if it is possible, it really does help. If I can help you in any way, please let me know!

I e-mailed the dietician about what the other doctor told me, and she called me today with changes. I was extremely happy! She said I could eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup at a time, but should try to go for the Protein things like yogurt, cottage cheese, Beans etc. I need to get 3 cups in daily. No drinking for 30 minutes before (?) or 30 minutes after. Next week I should start soft protein like chicken, tuna, and fish. On the 15th of November she will call me and I can start solids! Now, this is the way I thought it should be! So, now I am a "Happy Camper"!

Belly dancing sounds like fun, let us know how it goes! -
Kim - She said some people like to eat the smaller portions, but if I didn't then I could do the 1/2 cup. She didn't say why he wasn't strarting me sooner on the foods, but she explained it all to me the right way, so I wasn't going to complain.

Paula - I posted it on the other thread, but here goes: I have lost 35 pounds all together: 20 pre-op but gained 6 back from liquids in hospital, left me with 14 pound loss. Then I lost 21 so far post-op so, altogether 35 pounds. Now, if I just don't gain it back now that I can eat real food! lol Thanks for the compliment Paula!
-
I changed it! O.K. I screwed up, I learned my lesson and I won't do it again! Marie - Sorry to hear you aren't feeling good. I hope the unfill helps you.
-
No candy for me, but I lost 1 pound. :banana :banana :banana Down 21 since banding. Down 35 total with weight loss before banding.
-
Good Luck with your fill today! Remember now, not too much, we don't want any more problems!

I found this amazing to read about, even if he didn't have the lapband. I give this guy so much credit for getting his life back. www.usatoday.com/news/health/2004-10-27-half-ton-obesity_x.htm

I did 25 minutes on the treadmill yesterday, went shopping and did a lot of walking, cleaned house. I did 25 minutes on the treadmill today, did some laundry, and sat on my butt!
