One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?
Iluvharleys replied to Zoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey, I want to do my exercising shopping No fair, I had to work! -
What is it?????? What is it made of???? and don't just say buttermilk!
-
Thanks Kim for the encouragement. I had more weight to lose than you did, so that is probably why I am losing more to start with. Please don't be discouraged by that, you will catch up I'm sure. I didn't lose anything last week, and I must say I am getting hungry too. Hang in there, that weight will be flying off soon. I bet even though the scale doesn't move much that you are losing some inches, and in my book the inches are the best!

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?
Iluvharleys replied to live2canoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Way to go Leatha! :banana I have found if I come here to post each day, it makes me want to do the exercising just so I can post that I did it. I have never been good at getting exercise in, so maybe this is working for me. I can also tell the difference in how strong my legs are getting. Like you said, even 5 minutes is better than none. I hate going out in the cold too and probably won't exercise at all if it weren't for my treadmill when it was cold. -

Y'all are use to that cold weather though. When I lived up in the cold it didn't bother me as much, but since I moved down here, I can't take any cold at all. It gets 40 degrees and I freeze to death! -
It's natural to feel that way, it is such a big step. Afte you make that initial contact, you will feel much more sure, although you will feel anxious and nervous right up to the surgery.

No gain, no loss for me this week. I can't complain since I have not had a fill yet. Maybe this new challenge will help me out!

Concerned Husband, Everyone is different when it comes to the gas pains, so I don't know how long to tell you she will have them. You might try some Gas-X. I went back to work after a week, but some have taken longer. What kind of work does she do? I think each person has to decide how long they need according to how much pain etc. they have, and what type of work they do. Good luck and welcome to bandland.

Marie - It really felt good! This morning I did 30 minutes on the treadmill! -
Congrats on your banding. I am now on solids and pretty much eat anything, however I have not tried bread, pasta, or rice. I am still experimenting with different foods. I haven't had any problems so far. I haven't had any fills yet. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress.

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?

Well, I finally did it, got my Harley out and took her for a spin today. Oh, it felt so good to cruize down the road again. It also gave me lots of exercise, especially in my arms, which hasn't really had a lot. It was so strange though, as since I have lost weight, my seat fits me totally different, and that was such a good feeling! :laugh I think I will be able to make my coat fit for the rest of this year, it was snug on me to start with, now it is loose, the sleeves are too long, but when I put my arms up it works fine. I am happy about that! -
What an amazing job you have done. I can't wait to hear how your family reacts to seeing you. Please post and let us know! Happy Birthday!
