Good Luck with your surgery today. Please post and let us know how it went when you can. Daisy are you getting nervous? It is only natural to be, but it will be fine. -

Hey, the moon works for me!

Lisa I always lose some weight in the summer time, but I always gain it back in the winter. I know everyone is different, but the weather does affect me and my weight. And, some people can't lose weight regardless of the weather. I think every person is different, and different things affect them. What you eat and what I eat can make a big difference in our weight. Things I do different in the summer than the winter makes a big difference for me. Maybe it doesn't for you. Maybe all those ladies in Florida don't diet at all, and maybe they do. Who knows? I just know what works for me.

Lisa I worked with a girl that probably weighed 90 pounds. She ate all day long, if I had eaten 1/3 of what she ate I would not have been able to walk through the door. I honestly don't think I am using the weather as an excuse to eat. My DH is the same way, if it is raining or cold, he eats a lot more than he does on a regular day, and he is skinny! If it stayed sunny and warm every day, I wouldn't be in the house eating I guarentee it. I honestly believe that the weather itself plays a big part in not only my eating, but how I feel. When it is raining, I have aches and pains. When it is sunny, I am working in the yard, not hurting at all, or out riding my Harley, or swimming in the pool. I just feel good when the sun is shinning. I actually didn't realize how much the weather played a part in my life until I moved from a cold climate to a warm one. I am glad it doesn't play a part in your life, it sure makes it easier for you.

Boy Lisa, you are really lucky that the weather don't affect your eating. When the weather is cold or rainy, I get so bored that all I want to do is eat. I probably open the fridge 100 times. When it is pretty, I feel good and peppy, and I am busy doing other things. The weather plays a big part in my life! Any time the sun is shinning, I feel so much better about myself.

Audrey - I think we have all been in the spot you are in. The trick is to get back on the wagon! You have done so well, and you can do it again.

Congradulations to you! You must be very excited. Treat yourself to something nice!

Welcome! Anyone that is involved with the Mavericks is all right in my book. I love the Mavericks! I love Dirk, and I miss Nash! Although, they are doing very well even without him. Are you being banded here in the Metro Plex? Who is your doctor? Are you still going to be able to be one of the guys in the group when you lose all that weight? I am just full of questions! Good Luck with your surgery, and post and let us know how you did when you feel up to it. -
Lynn Ann - What Alex said is right, it always helps us when we work with it. I have not been limited to any special foods, I pretty much eat what I want. I chose not to eat bread, or a lot of the starches, but if I wanted them, I would eat them. I don't miss anything at all when it comes to food. You won't be as hungry, you won't crave alot of the things you think you would. Good Luck!

Melissa - I too have been stuck for quite a while. The one thing I noticed though is that I lost some inches even when the scale didn't move. It's hard not to get depressed when that number just won't go down. I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't gain it in a week or month, and it is harder to lose than gain. Make sure you are following the Protein first, then veggie, then starch. Make sure you are getting in some exercise and drinkinging your Water except with meals and an hour after. One other thing is that while your friend is losing faster right now, you will catch up with her in the end. Also remember she can gain hers back easier than you can with the band. Smile, you have done an excellent job so far, and you will reach your goal if you work with it.

Plastic Surgery Terms for Weight Loss Patients

Great post Marie! -
Why don't you try some cream soups, or jello? Try some popcicles or No sugar added fudge bars. I wouldn't do the eggs until the doctor said it was o.k., many bansters can't do eggs at all.
-
Lisa - Welcome! You are normal, we have all done that. You wouldn't be human if you didn't have all the mixed feelings. Please take some time and browse through all the posts and you will find lots of information.

Kelly there is a shirt like the hat.

Very cute, Bright thanks for sharing!

Hey, I like fluffy! Who would have thought we would be happy with stuff like that?
-
I wish I had known more about it. Everytime a doctor mentioned it to me, I fought it saying no surgery for me. Once I started doing a little research on it, I decided yes, it is what I want to do. I wish I had been more open minded about it sooner, I would have gotten the surgery sooner. I love my band!

Good luck to you! Please keep us posted on your progress. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Julie - You are doing great! Like Michelle said, it is all part of banding. I figure I can keep up with the big boys now!
-
Wow! That is great! Congrats to you! That is amazing to do in only 6 days!

Do you have a nickname? How did you get your nickname (who named you etc) and do you get called by it still today? When I was just a small child, my Grandpa nicknamed me Doodlebug. He had a nickname for everyone of his Grandchildren. I hated it growing up, I actually never told anyone about it, and tried to keep everyone from calling me it. Then, when I moved to Texas, my Brother and his family all called me Doodle from day one. He almost made my business cards in the name Doodle! Now I actually like it! In fact my license plate on my Harley is BDoodle. I had to put the B (Betty) there because someone already had the specialty plate for Doodle.

Good one Paula! My Grandma and Grandpa on my Mom's side was the sweetest Grandparents in the world. My Grandpa worked for the Railroad, and their house was right across the street from the tracks. When a train would come through, it would shake the whole house. When we went to visit, it would wake us all up during the night everytime a train passed. My Grandma would cook big southern style meals, and they were so good. Her favorite saying was "Don't worry, if there's not enough, I'll cook more." I never ever saw her cook more though, but we never went hungry. When my Grandpa retired from the railroad, he owned a small gas station. Well, when we went to visit them (we lived about 550 miles away) he would let us eat and drink all the candy and pop we wanted. I always thought that was so sweet. I have so many fond memories of them, and they raised 9 children and all of them ended up with good jobs and families. My Grandparents on my Dad's side was a lot different. My Grandfather was a sweet old man, but my Grandmother was mean, and I mean really mean. My Mother didn't allow us to eat at their house, because she made meals with awful stuff, things that would poison the normal person. My Mom use to walk us to the Market and buy us some fruit to eat while we were there. My Grandma use to accuse everyone of stealing her money, when nobody did. We went to visit them, but didn't stay long, usually 1 or 2 nights. Grandfather passed away first, and she got even meaner. I can honestly say my Dad took after his Father, not his Mother. The one thing I do remember was that my Grandmother on my Mom's side didn't believe in a woman smoking, and until the day my Grandmother died she didn't know my Mother smoked. When Grandma was there, my Mom hid in the bathroom and smoked a cigarette. I always laughed at her.
