Isn't it strange how different levels of fill affect people. I am at 2.25 and have no restriction to speak of, and you look so tight! What is the most fill you have ever had Kelly?

Maria - Welcome! Good Luck with your surgery! You have to remember there are so many people that are banded, and usually the ones you read about are the problem ones. Everyone doesn't post about all the good with the band. So it is natural that you will read more about the problems. I am glad you aren't letting that influence your decission. The band is great and you won't find many people that would be willing to give it up after they get it. Are you being banded in the US or somewhere else? Please keep us posted on your progress!

Roxanna - I am so sorry to hear about your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You are doing great with your band! You certainly have a lot of stress going on right now, so please remember to take care of yourself too!

How was the crawfish Easter Sunday? Paula - You really had to bring up crawfish didn't you? Now I won't be happy till I get some!

I have never had a fill under fluoro, and my Doctor has always hit my port the first time every time. No problems whatsoever! I do believe most Mexican Doctors do more of a fill in the beginning than US Doctors.

If you are not following the banster rules of eating your protein first, then veggies, etc. you won't feel full and the band won't work for you. If you are consuming liquids over protein, it is not working properly. I think I would get back to the basics, eat properly for a couple of weeks, and if you are losing then you don't need a fill. If you aren't losing eating the proper way, then you need a fill. Fills are not going to work unless you are eating properly. Your band is just a tool to help you, without you working with it, it won't work as it is supposed to.

Daisy - For one thing, you don't have a fill so you are wide open at the time. It is almost like you were never banded. Things should get better after you get your fill. I do know a few bansters that have a sweet everyday, they just count it in their total allowed calories for that day.

Mine doesn't stick out, but if I try to feel it I can.

You might want to try the chocolate next time. lol I have found that the strawberry usually just doesn't taste as good. That is just my opinion though! Good Luck, and yes, it will be worth it in the long run!

Absolutely not! It's not easy going though surgery, giving up a lot of the things you loved to eat/drink and exercising all the time. I love my band, it is the best thing I ever did for myself, but it is not the easy way out.
