I am not new, but been away for ages...
Iluvharleys replied to aussie_jode's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome back Jodie! Yes, I do remember you You have done an awsome job already, and I know you will get to your goal in no time flat. Go back to the basics for a while, protein, veggies, etc. and make sure to get your water all in. -
My doctor never leaves the needle in me when I sit up. How many of you have it done that way? My doctor gives me the fill, puts a bandaid on it and I am done.

Welcome to bandland! :banana Yup, that dreaded payroll, no matter what it has to be done! UGH!

I have never PB's either, and consider myself lucky for not doing it. I have only had the golf ball one time and it was my fault, I didn't chew good enough and swallowed too soon. I knew the minute I swallowed it I shouldn't have, but it was too late. The dreaded golf ball lasted about 5 minutes and hurt like hell, but I am glad it didn't come back up!

Welcome back! Glad you had such a great time!

Scrambled eggs versus peanut butter?
Iluvharleys replied to Abundant's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have a problem with eggs at all! Actually I don't have a problem with anything so far, I try to stay away from all the "white" stuff, but once in a while take a few bites of bread but when I do, I am very careful with it. -
I'm an Office Manager/Finance Administrator for a DME company. I do secretarial duties as well as payroll, accounting, and billing.

How may of you have your fills done by mexican docs and how many of you have your fills by U.S. docs? U.S. Doctor for me Those who have Fills by U.S. docs- are you happy with your restriction levels? Do you feel they fill you enough each time? How many fills have you had in what time frame? I have had 5 fills in 6 months I have never had too much restriction, so I am not sure if I am happy with it or not. I enjoy being able to eat what I want to without any problems. Those who have Fills by Mexico Dr.s - areyou happy with your restriction levels? Do you feel they fil lyou enough each time? How many fills have you had in what time frame? I ask becasue I have read that U.S. Dr.s are much more conservative on fills, they like to sneak up on your restriction level, where as Mexico Dr.s like to get you to good restriction much sooner. My first fill was 1.5cc and each time after was .25cc Personally I have had 3 fills in 13 months and have done extremely well with my Mexico Dr. However I have nothing to compare it to since I have not used a U.S. Dr. for my fills. MIchelle how much fill do you have in those 3 fills? I am at 2.50cc I just would like to hear others feelings on this subject.

Way to go Crystal! Don't that make you feel great? Good for you Zoe! I keep wondering about my BP medicine and if I need to get it decreased or not. I am looking forward to the day of getting off of it all together.

Welcome to bandland! It sounds like you are doing just great! It only gets better each day

Good Luck, and keep us posted!

Glad things are going so good for you! No cheating now, let that band heal up properly!

I heard it was on, but I think they are starting it only in certain states for right now. I have been watching for it though, hopefully it will hit here soon.
-
My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. My doctor mentioned it to me, but I fought it for a year before I gave in. Now I wish I had done it back when he mentioned it to me.

Great news! It will be here before you know it!
-
Exactly, and the lapband is the only surgery I would even think about having.

Iluvharleys replied to Bernie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Bernie! Don't worry, you will start losing weight, sometimes it just takes more than one fill to do it. You might want to check your measurements too, when the scale doesn't move it seems like we still lose inches. -
No, Trish, I didn't have to. I do know that lots of doctors does use Gatorade for that though.
-
Welcome to bandland! I'm glad things went so good for you. It only gets better each day!
-
Great news Crystal! Now, quit worrying for a little while and enjoy going home to be with your family! You deserve it!
-
Great NSV's for both of you!

Welcome to the land of real people! I think we all do that once in a while, and it is only human! You are doing great, and one day isn't going to kill you or undo everything you have done. When your cravings get so bad like that, have a little bit, sit down and truely enjoy every bite, then get back on track.

Banded April 29 and just regained my appetite
Iluvharleys replied to BeckyinTexas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Don't worry you are totally normal! Once the swelling goes down, you are wide open, just as if you didn't have your band. If you are hungry, eat more! This is a time for healing. -
Way to go Zoe, Congradulations! :banana :banana
