Help What Do I Do About The Fills
Iluvharleys replied to missymaxie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You really do need to start getting his attention! Talk over him, yell back at him, scream if you have to! If my doctor would treat me like that, he would be history! No way would I pay someone to be mean to me! If he starts getting mouthy, tell him you don't appreciate the way he is treating you, you paid him good money, and if you have to report him for his attitude you will! Something is very wrong, and you need either him to make an effort to find out, or find yourself a doctor that gives a damn and help yourself out. Like Kathy said, this is tough love, but we care about what happens to the people here, and if we have to say it like it is to make you wise up enough to stand up for yourself, then we do. We are here to support you! Please don't live like this, take care of yourself and do it soon! -
Welcome to bandland! Post when you can and let us know how you are!

Great job! You sound like you are on your way to a better life! -
Trish - I'm sorry someone was so rude that they couldn't keep their mouth shut! People like that should remember what goes around comes around, and their day is on the way!
-
Good for you! Just remember if you don't see a big difference, some people take more than one fill, but a lot don't!
-
Thanks Crystal!

Whooo Hooo! Congrats to you! I't will be here before you know it!

Is the band all that you expected? Better or worse?
Iluvharleys replied to rene2005's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The band has been great for me, and I would do it again in a second! I am just sorry I didn't have it done sooner! -
Welcome Dianne! Don't worry we all felt that way I think! I still eat everything I did before banding, I just gave up bread, etc. because of the extra calories. It really is worth giving up a few things to lose the weight!
-
Terri - I gained 8 pounds when I had surgery, they teased me about coming in for surgery and they were putting weight on me! It is from the IV's etc. so don't worry, in a few days it will be gone! Welcome to bandland!

Hope you have a great one!

I have follow-up visits with my doctor every 6 weeks 12.) I read this support board daily (well, lots daily) 13.) I don't do fast foods anymore I am much more confident now, I enjoy parties and friends more, I don't look to see if I am the heaviest person in the room, I can sit on anything now w/o the fear of breaking it, I have more energy, I wear smaller clothes, I have less aches and pains, I can tolerate the Texas heat more, I can climb stairs w/o feeling like I am going to pass out, I am a happier person, and people are always complimenting me on my weight loss. I can do things that don't focus around food, and I can actually go shopping and not think I need to stop and get something to hold me over! I don't run every time someone comes out with the camera anymore. I look people in the eyes now instead of looking at the ground. I smile a lot now too!

Hi Jim! Welcome to LBT! There is a lot of information here just for the reading/asking. Good luck with your surgery! Keep us posted!

Try eating without the bread, bread is a no-no for most bansters. Try eating solid foods/veggies. Usually the first week after a fill I am a little swollen, so that might be your problem too. As long as you can drink water and eat some mushy things, I would wait a few days and see what happens, but if you can't do that then I would check with your doctor.

Welcome to LBT, and good luck!
