    Is this Pain Normal

I had the back pain for quite a while and the only thing that helped me was the heating pad. I think you are just having the normal gas pain, but if you aren't better in a few weeks, I would definately check with your doctor.

    February's Chat

Hey Y'all! Just jumped in quick like, I had to run to the bank and store so thought I would check and see what y'all were doing. I was laughing all the way home. I decided to look at some jeans while I was out, I wasn't going to buy any, just look and maybe try them on. Well, I was going to try on some of the low waisted ones. I had some in my hands and was still looking around and a bunch of the ladies in the store had some on. Well, I decided right then and there that I wasn't going to get any! I just put them right back on the shelf! The ladies that were wearing them looked awful in them! I mean their butts looked so big and I know it was the pants making it look that way. These weren't large women either! Nope, I decided they just weren't right for me. I'm trying to make mine look smaller, not larger! Eileen - I love your little icon! How cute is that! Glad the class wasn't so bad! Just wait till next time that lady comes back and looks at you!:clap2: Patty - In the first place I always heard that blood pressure shouldn't be taken over a blouse etc, only on a bare arm. And second, every time I go to the doctor's office mine goes up! I can take it all week long and it is fine, but the minute I go to the doctor's office it goes way up! White coat thingy I guess! Well, back to the work, gosh it is so pretty today!

    February's Chat

Good Morning Y'all! Well today I am getting my butt outside for a while, it is supposed to be beautiful. I did get a walk in yesterday, but I had to make myself do it! I just didn't feel like walking, but I sure felt better after I did it. I have to get back into my routine of walking every day. Sherry - Glad to see you here this morning. It really does get better each day, and I think the third day is always the worst in any surgery. Like Pat said, the more you move around the better it gets. Pat - I am pretty sure you can grow those anywhere. It is a bulb and it comes up every year in the springtime. Mine always blooms in February sometime, but up north it is later. They last 3-4 weeks, depending on the weather. Last year they bloomed and it frozed the day after and froze them. Hopefully this year they will be around for a while. Of course they are now calling for freezes this weekend! Sure, after I unwrapped all my stuff yesterday! Eileen - How was the computer classes yesterday? Sometimes they are fun to do, other times they are so boring. Hope you had a fun one! Cindy - Your salads sound yummy! I didn't mean to suggest you didn't do Protein, just wanted to remind you to do that! Sometimes we forget to get all that protein in. Zan - Have a safe trip! Have fun while you're at it too! Patty - Hope you get hired today! Dianne - Nothing new on the job stuff, it is driving me crazy. You would think those places would have the courtesy to at least contact you one way or the other. Beanie - Glad you are healing up nicely! My port area was tender to lay on for quite a while. Hope DH is taking good care of you in the food department!:Banane40: :Banane40: Anne - Good Morning! Got anything planned for today? Well I guess I will get off here and get something productive done for a while!:Banane40: :Banane40: :Banane40:
  10. This article was in our paper this morning, and I found it quite interesting. For around eight long years a group of 20,000 mostly over weight postmenopausal women reduced their fat consumption as part of a $415 million government study. The results were published recently in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The goal of the study was to track how a low-fat diet may decrease a woman's chances of developing cancer and heart disease. The other group of approximately 30,000 were permitted a diet that included more fat, or life as usual. For the group doing with less, that meant nearly a decade of saying no when they wanted to say yes. Of thinking constantly about what they consumed; of being monitored; of being 100 percent "good." Much to everyone's surprise, the results showed little difference in rates of breast cancer, colorectal cancer and heart disease between the two groups. That is, it didn't make a difference what they ate. It was noted that this could be the result of their already being overweight, as well as the impact of the foods they comsumed when they were younger. Researchers and scientists also determined that the participants, whose average age was 62, didn't reduce fats quite as much as the scientists had hoped. Furthermore, during the couse of the study, scientific thinking on the role different fats play in disease prevention evolved. Instead of altering participants' diets by further specifying that they consume less "bad" fats and increase consumption of "good fats," they stayed the lengthy, rather vague course.

Welcome to LBT! Congrats on your upcoming surgery!:clap2: :clap2: Just remember that you will be able to eat most foods after you get banded, and everything you eat now you'll have to lose afterwards! I think we all got through that last supper stuff, but in all honesty, you will be able to eat most foods later. Good luck to you!:clap2:

"HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY" Hope y'all have a great one and get lots of goodies! :o I have to go out and take all the covers off my plants this morning, it is going to be in the 70's today and 80's tomorrow. I gotta give them babies some badly needed sun now!:heh: Beanie - I love the bracelet! That is so purdy! Hope you are back to par now, you must be sounds like you are bustin your butt again! :D Patty - I'm glad to hear you are back on the hiring line. Good BP results! Go get em girl! Pat - If you go red, make sure you post that picture! We all wanna see!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Anne - I can't believe you didn't do any damage either! I'll bet you were so happy about that one. I did that once, didn't do any damage to the car behind me, but tore the hell out of mine! Nobody ever parked behind me so I just didn't pay any attention, that is until I hit it! Eileen - If after two weeks you don't feel any restriction, call and tell them. I honestly didn't feel anything at all with my first couple of fills. Cindy - You might try adding more solid protein to your meals. Are you putting some in your salads at noon? I think a piece of chicken or beef, or fish might make a difference instead of the zone bars too. My doctor won't let me have those bars. If you are gettting the golf ball, I doubt very likely you want to have any more fill. At least I wouldn't want to. Sherry - Hey girl, I bet you will be here today letting us know how you are doing. I miss your smiling posts, hope you are doing great! Well, I decided to transplant a couple of my house plants this morning, I just finished one and now I have to find a pot for the other one. What a mess I made! Now, I not only have to sweep my floors again, but mop them too! I have been doing a little mumbling too! $#@*&%$# Catch you all later today! Have a great one!
