OHH I know! I am TOTALLY complaining. I wanted to AFTER surgery though. lol!!! Make sure I got it! Yeah it is mostly ONE person but she is the case manager. I got a "review" after I got my surgery so I am for sure complaining. My husband and I also complained the last appointment I had to the doctor. -

Monica are you peeing? If you are you should be fine unless it is an AMBER COLORED. The first week is the worst! I gurgled, gagged, and was like "why the hell did I do this??" Ashley puts her protien powder in her pudding. WEIRD!!!! KAISER RICHMOND does not do the whole protien shake thing! STACY! I am so sad I missed you. My friend's baby shower. I was so sad I missed it! NEXT time! I can't wait to meet you! -

Ohh boy this thread has TAKEN OFF!!!! YAY! I am so happy! Congrats on the surgery! Yes the first WEEK IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I couldn't drink anything at all. What saved me was sugar free popcicles. They are 2oz each. broth seems to go down a bit easier too. My best friend made me some yummy chicken Soup broth and I am still sipping of it. I got a "baby sippy cup" and I took out that plastic piece and it dribbles out. ANOTHER TRICK??? I know this sounds NUTS but I used a syringe to give myself fluids. I got one of the Medication ones and there is only like 1/2 ounce in it (from kaiser pharmacy) and I suck up my zero calorie Vitamin Water or my zero calorie sobe's and used that! It was just enough in your mouth you don't even have to swallow! It worked. I swear I would have been in the ER if I didn't do that! lol. IT GETS BETTER I PROMISE!!!!! Now I am getting 32 oz a day and I am 10 days out and the dietician said I am cool. I finally bm'd by the 4th day. I was sooooo happy about that. lol. I even text all my friends about it! It was the best!!! lmao! My doctor said if you peeing and its not SUPER dark you are fine. Lorden-I am SOOOO SORRY! I didn't see your post. Yes there was a meeting I was unable to attend. Next time I will post when it is!!!! Sorry! -

Yeah that was me-CHRISSY! Yeah hide your phone keys change in pocket-wear jeans and layers of t-shirts and heavy shoes! -
Hi! I am only one week post-op and I am down over 10 after surgery. Remember you were "cut" into! your body will take up to a year to heal properly. You will be okay! I am also larger. You are swollen! Your body just went through a huge trama, and it needs to "learn" its new body! You will be okay. I am only a week out but have had several surgeries in my life and know this is the way it goes. Keep your chin up! You need to give yourself credit. I have a dog that is 11pounds! Just imagine strapping a shih-tzu to your thigh. 11 Pounds is great! Soon you will be talking about how great things are. Hang in there tiger! Best of luck!

Stacy Yeah Liz is a B*tch just to warn you. I was warned so I kept my mouth shut. She is way ruse. Made a lady almost cry at my orientation! She screamed at some ol;der woman for having gum. Just ignore her-that is what I did and that was very hard for me. lol! Robin I like her she is our dietician. I have DR. IM and LOVE LOVE LOVE him. Wear your heaviest jeans, t-shirt, sweatshirt, shoes heaviest everything to the first weigh in!!!! lol..a little trick. hee hee. anyways. Dr. Baggs I have heard great things about him. I have heard not so nice things about Dr. Fisher but he is older and old school and WAY strict of weight. Dr. Bags is really easy on weight from everyone I ever met. I had to loose 222 pounds but Dr. Im made everyone else I met in the program only loose 10!! I was like wtf?? hah ha I have not ONE complaint with Dr. Im. I loved him and think he is wonderful. I wanted him or Baggs. The other two park (a woman) and Fisher is the STRICT ONE. He gave a bander 80 something pounds to loose! CRAZY. DONT be late they will close the doors it is a little silly how strict they are. NO JOKE! Just stay there for your break too. She locked 2 people out cause they were late from break but there was a long line in the restroom! My husband was there with me and he had some not so nice words to say. ha ha. Tina I am all for you whatever you decide! This surgery seems so simple and too good to be true dosent it? Ash says she now can eat what she wants and be completely satisfied, john too just smaller amounts! Seems like a dream! I would do EVERYTHING it takes to get that revision! I know what you mean. A LOT of people on the board would switch but just don't say anything. I proll have already rocked the boat over there enough but ohh well! It is just super duper scary about all the things that can happen. And most of these people that are saying this lived through it and had the band! Check out that chick Tiffykins-her story is nuts. -
Hoping to go from band to sleeve -- any issues?

Hey Tina! Yeah I never ever wanted to say something because I knew that I would offend someone but I have had 10 banded people tell me DON'T get it get the sleeve. This is before I was sleeved of course. I wanted the band when I started and was all gung ho for the band. Then, when I met everyone and saw the pb, all they could eat, the fills, unfills, then read everything about the band on this site it really freaked me out! There are a lot of banders that told me GET THE SLEEVE. Now I am so happy they did. I also see how much my band friends can eat and it's like wait-you had surgery??? so I understand. I would support ya all the way! You have bad luck like me so I figured man if there are complications it would happen to me. (with the band) When I did my research i could not find any complications with the sleeve. I thought there has to be some right?? still looking.. I mean I know there can be a leak but they test you twice for that. Once under the knife, then the nect day you get a barium swallow in radiology then your good! I already have had hernia surgery and KNEW i would have no problems with the staples cause I already have them in me! I know many are happy with their bands too, but many people don't know that there IS issues until they actually get inside there and look. I am glad your looking into it. It seems safer for you in the long hall. xoxox Tina! Whatever you decide I am your CHEERING SECTION!!!!! WE I MEAN!!!!! -

I am so happy you decided that! We have a confession we were worried! lol. You are just a young-in like us and if you read here everyone says they should "ban the band" lots of scary stories on here of all the complications and whatnot. I dont wanna post them on the lap-band site at all I would totally offend someone. Ash and I were BOTH gonna get the band. It was not until I had many of the people I met on that forum said CHRISSY DONT GET THE BAND GET THE SLEEVE!!!!!!!!! these are people that had the band. I was even told by the er doctor that kaiser is "phasing them out" and that southern california kaiser isn't doing them anymore??? If anyone is reading this let us know!!!!!!! I am happy you met your way over here. I mean, it's your decision but for the long haul and LESS complications I am happy for you! I have Dr. Im and he said that "WE" as in Kaiser are hoping this is the new weight loss procedure of the future. congrats on your choice!
