I don't take a PPI every day BUT I do keep one in my purse, there are certain foods(onion) that give me heartburn and I try to prevent it. I have a 36 boughie, which is what my surgeon uses on every patient.

Hi, everyone. I haven't been around lately. I have been busy helping two of my friends try to get the sleeve. Sadly one was denied and the other is cash paying . I'm more nervous for her and I was for myself.lol I have had zero issues with the sleeve and would do it again in a heartbeat. My weight loss leveled off at 69 lbs, so accoring to my surgeon I need to lose 10 more lbs but I am in a size 10 and my 5'8 frame is healthy looking so I'm not going to stress over the last few lbs. I worked hard for the first 6 months taking advantage of the "honeymoon" phase and will get back on the exercise train after Christmas. Wishing everyone Happy Holidays!

3 week post op and cant keep anything down!
cwalker replied to shine1075's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry that you are having a tough time, hopefully the fluids will help you alot. I didn't have any issues but I have read that being dehydrated can cause nausea. It is sooo important to get in fluids. I tried drinking 2 oz every 15 minutes and it seemed to work better that way. If not maybe some meds for nausea. Good Luck! -
DANGIT!!!! It is official, my hair is falling out. EXPLETIVE!
cwalker replied to mp8btpc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My hair loss stared @ 3months and lasted 3 months, I'm 7 months post op and my hair is fine, thin and short. It is the only negative thing about WLS I've found. I'm just sooo darn happy it stopped coming out when it did!! -

Hi Breezy, you are doing amazing!!! I haven't been on lately, have been enjoying those grands. I seem to be holding steady with a 65 lb loss but I'm in a size 12 and hubby says I look great. I am so glad I had the sleeve! Hope you keep doing your happy dances..hugs!

My surgery was 4-29-2010. I have taken my vitiaims and even the biotin and omega .My hair started "shedding" at 2 months and slowly got worse until I hit 5 months, it has slowed way down.I'm now 5 1/2 months out and had my hair done two days ago,it is alot thinner but thankfully no bald spots just less volume.Keep up your Protein,Vitamins and try not to stress about it.It was well worth it.

3 days post-op vsg
cwalker replied to Wanna be a little mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will be sooo worth it, I promise. In a couple of weeks the difference will be noticeable, inches wise and lb wise. The loss tapers off slowly.I lost 14 lbs the first week and 10 the second now I lose 5 lbs a month. It's an amazing ride. Walk, sip and rest. I did have hair issues but it is leveling off and I am glad!!!! Take care! -
"Don't lose too much weight"
cwalker replied to Lisalu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got that too, and a "Have you been sick" with it.lol I know they are shocked but honestly did we look better fat? I feel sooo much better and even now the inches keep coming off although I have cut back on the walking. I just want to be healthy. I'm like you need to lose 15 more lbs to get to goal BMI, don't let anyone gt to you. -

chew, chew, chew - is it like this for you?
cwalker replied to 1-4-Many's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think if you chew to soft consistency it's good enough, you probably don't have to make it 30 chews unless it's a really dense protein. I think the protein bar will be enough with the advil, hope you knee's feel better :w00t: -
Glad you are doing ok-good to know about the pouch test, I've been tempted to try it to nudge the scale down. I'm 5 mos out and can eat more also, just as you described. I don't seem to want to bake anymore and sweets were my weakness, now I'm happy with a nutter butter cookie thank goodness!

3 days post op with terrible colics....
cwalker replied to blessedwithlove78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take it easy, walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip and rest alot, that was the advice I was given and it does work -
I had to post on my sugerversary, I love my sleeve!!! I have lost 61 lbs in 5 months and before surgery couldn't lose any. The inches are still coming off as my body changes. I haven't lost much in the bust area so kinda happy about that The throat area is what bothers me the most (droopy) blah! The hair loss seems to continue -but has leveled off without getting worse. I'm happy and have decided the rest of the weight will come off when it wants too. I'm still walking though not 6 days a week more like 4 days and keeping my 4 yr old granddaughter 4 days a week, that in itself is a workout.lol I'm in size 12 jeans from 18 women and lg tops from 2x. I do tend to eat the same things repeatedly but it is grilled salmon so it is healthy. I do feel I have added years to my life and it makes me happy dance at least once a day! I hope you all are doing great too!! You are the best!!
