I agree the prevacid works for me, it curbs the hunger feeling. Try it and don't risk a visit to ICU. Carla -

Having second thoughts
cwalker replied to texaschick's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just curious, my question is for Jane_J what is a GA?:lol0: -
I know this sounds crazy but all my life when asked my height I always rattled off 5'9" so imagine my suprize when the Dr. measured me and I was a full inch shorter and it definitely rasied my BMI. It's worth a shot anyway if the second sleep study doesen't come through for you. Carla

I lived on Onion Soup from the Japanese Resturant, warmed it a little and added small amount of unflavored gnc whey protien, it was what sustained me the most, mushies are better but you can only hold 2-3 spoonfuls but the weight is coming off:)

first day transition from liquid to mushies
cwalker posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
and it has been hard, do you just jump in with 3 meals and two snacks? If I can't get the mushies in I guess I should stay on liquids...but my Doctor didnt have a full liquid stage. any words of wisdom?:thumbup1: -
first day transition from liquid to mushies
cwalker replied to cwalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought the GNC unflavored whey protien and added a little to the broth and drank the k20 water and it really helped me. It is totally unflavored and I heated the broth a little before adding. Good Luck! Carla -
Question about first day home
cwalker replied to big_kahuna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you'll probably know within 12 hrs of your surgery, I came home the next day. I didn't need anyone but my hubby was here outside on the tractor. A recliner is wonderful the first few days. Better safe than sorry tho in case something happened and you couldn't act for yourself. Carla -
first day transition from liquid to mushies
cwalker replied to cwalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys, it just seemed as if you get in 2 oz liquid with no problem on the clears that it wouldnt be a problem on the mushies..but it is a big difference so I backed up and started on smoothies with greek yogurt and soups blenderized, got to remember to get liquids in. I feel great even drove myself 2 hrs to see Doctor 8 days post op..yay for the grannies!!:001_smile: -

Worried about throwing up
cwalker replied to CoachKK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still in clear liquids but I haven't thrown up once, no nausea what so ever, I worried about spasms and didn't have those either and am glad I didn't they sounded bad, It is hard to get in the 64 oz daily because it's so important to stay hydrated but I write down every oz.lol Your going to be fine, ask for the meds to help with the pain/nausea and it'll be over before you know it.:lol0: Carla -

My surgery was 3 days ago in Houston and the pain isn't as bad as you imagine, just use the pain meds to make you comfortable and get past the first 12 hours. I was walking within 2 hrs and made 3 rounds everyone is different but your goning to be fine.Carla:thumbup: -
