Question? rate of weight loss and loose skin
cwalker replied to Booklean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you don't mind me asking what is your BMI? My surgeon said in his seminar " if your BMI is in the 40's range you are not going to have as much loose skin" and so far he is right. I hit the treadmill as soon as I could and I think it has helped too. -
Hi, Melinda. I'm 53 yrs young and choose the sleeve because you still have a functioning stomach even tho it's teen tiny and at my age/health there are medicne I have to take, ugh not big fan on the crushing. I love the sleeve, I feel 10 yrs younger and the quality of life is awesome. Hang in there for the pre-op diet and before you know it you'll be slidng onto the loser's bench with us. WELCOME!

My daughter had RNY 8 months before I had sleeve, she has lost more in a short time but she has fainted on us twice, we've been to kidney, gastro specialist and next week a cardio Doctor, she eats like a pregnant woman just trying to counteract the malabsorption issue. The Dr. removed her gallbladder also. She had a longer recovery time, and even at my age 53 I had no issues.

oooookaaayyyy here we gooooo!!!!
cwalker replied to Mi-Mi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I enjoy my small portions now just as much as I enjoyed the supersized ones pre-surgery. You'll still be able to go out to dinner and order -you will probably have to take it home in a doggy bag or order a appetizer as a main. I only felt grief for food one time after surgery and it was very brief because I was so happy to finally succeed at losing weight. You'll be with all of us on the loser's bench and it feels pretty damm good. -
is it unusual?
cwalker replied to beautifuldisaster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Quality of life after sleeve
cwalker replied to 4romatl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I only wish I had done it sooner!! -
Well it's techinally tommorrow but I had my checkup today.I weighed this morning and made it to onederland, the scale said 198 so I'm claiming it! All my vitamin levels were perfect and I've lost 16 inches total with 52 lbs gone. From 2 xl tops to xl and bottoms went from 18w to 14. I feel great and haven't been under 200 lbs in 12 years. I started slow on the exercise because of the Rhuematoid but I am up to 2 miles a day. I hope this post inspires someone sitting on the fence not sure what to do, I say go for it,get your life back.It is the best thing I've done for me in a long time. This forum has been a lifeline.. and learning tool so I could work my sleeve!!
