  1. Today is pre-op day 6 for me and I feel great! However, I'm pretty fatigued. I really feel as though I can lay down and nap at any time. Other than that I feel very good. Has anyone else expierenced this?

    Fatigue?

Well, Im definately getting all my protien in. But I'm not sure if I'm eating enough. It is the strangest thing, because I'm not sure if I am full. I hope that makes sense. Maybe I'm not getting enough nutrients, even tho i'm taking my vitamin and b12 religiously. Maybe I'm just tired from surgery. who knows. :laugh0:
  3. Well, I finally got released from the hospital, yay! Some gas discomfort under my ribs..gas x almost makes it worse:(. Sipping constantly..protien is super hard to get down. I have a little buyers remorse, but am sure it will subside later.
  4. I have been incredibly cranky today, is this normal?
  5. I was sleeved this week and also take a med that says not to crush. My doctors both my surgeon and pcp told me it was ok to crush. No major problems so far. They Aldo told me to mix in a small tsp of yogurt. I'm also on clear liquids.

    2 things...

Thanks so much everyone ! It is so nice to talk to people who have been there. I am maintaining a positive outlook because honestly, I feel better 5 days post op than I have in years. This is going to be great! Good luck to you robbiehague.. We'll get thru it together!
  8. Today is my fourth day post op. I decided to weigh tonite and found that I am only nine pounds down..thank you liquid diet. But none since my surgery. Could this be post operative "stall"? Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to see 10lbs gone, but just thought there would be more. My second thing is tonite tonite my hubby came in with a bowl of shrimp Alfredo...smelled delish, garlicky. It was the first time I had even an intrest in food, and rely wanted it. Told sweet hubby to leave bc it smelled too good :/. He did . Is this normal...and to think about some old favorites, but not really want them? Ugh! Help!

    2 things...

I considered iv fluids.. bc they gave me a ton since I couldn't urinate (anestheisia) . After 1 1/2 days of a cathater I finally did... bUt I was given a lot of fluids and felt pretty bloated! Thanks!
  10. I had my surgery on Tuesday , cheated a little with my liquid diet, low fat cheese and then some cream soup. My doc said my liver was perfect! Don't sweat it! Good luck and take it slow!

    Protein

My doctor gave me a recipe for double protien milk: 1c skim milk 9g protien ( I buy the Bordens kid builder it has 1 xtra g of protien), 1/3 c nonfat powdered milk 8g protien. I usually mix with carnation inst. Breakfast 6g. It's really good seeing as I hate the bullets, etc. If I'm brave I'll add some protien shake to it.. Usuly banana flavored.

    post opp burning pain

I know exactly what pain you are talking about. Although I have not had it with my sleeve (3/23/10), I did have it with both c-sections and hysterectomy. It hurts badly, but will subside as your body heals. Mine took a while because they were large incisions, hopefully yours will not last as long. I am only 4 days post op, but feel good. I hope you have a great recovery !!

    Day 3

Thanks, y'all. I'm up and down..being able to pass gas helps so much :sad0: I didn't get much sleep inthe hospital so I'm hoping i will tonite. I think my major problem today was I took one of my meds, pristiq that says not to crush. But my docs insisted it was ok, I don't think so, it gels up and gets spongy in liquid. I took about 3/4 of it today and felt terrible ever since. So I'm not taking it anymore and will call my pcp tomorrow. Everyday will get better !

    Clear Liquid Phase

I think clear liquid diets are some form of medieval torture! I am, thankfully, on my last day of pre-op liquid diet. Tomorrow is my big day! But I have to say the past 6 days have been a roller coaster ride. I wish I could tell you that it is easy and you won't crave food. But the truth is some days are bad, some good. I tried my hardest to remain focused on the prize. Today, I have had zero hunger. Huh, where was that Saturday when I almost jacked a toddler for his animal cracker? LOL. What did help me is meditation. I am by no means an expert, but I listened to the Secret and it really helped. I meditated and focused on my healthy body and all they good things that come with good health, being a mom, wife and friend. Honestly it really helped. If I can do this, I'm sure you can too. I wish you all the best, keep your chin up....your time will be here before you know it. Take it one day at a time and try to focus on the day of your surgery...:crying:
  23. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! I will go to bed about 9pm and when I wake in the morning, it will be my last day before surgery. These past seven days have been hard, but not nearly as hard as I thought. I'm so relieved that Monday is here. I plan on being extra busy and going to bed early. The snow we had today in Dallas made it a little more difficult... On cold drary days I like to cook. Only thing I made was a protien shake! Poor family !

    March 23

Yes, we had about three inches, which is a lot for us! We got 10 inches last month! It has been a snowy winter for us, which is a nice thing . My family has been great, my sweet hubby even skipped the popcorn when we went to the movie yesterday! I'm verrryy excited that I am this close and can't wait until 5:00 Tuesday morning! Wish me luck!
  25. I am on my 1 week liquid diet...day 4 to be exact and I cheated. I had a piece of low fat cheese and a couple bites of retried beans. Ihope this won't effect my surgery..
