The surgery is easy. Adapting to the restrictions is the challenge. -

Katt, I'm surprised. Perhaps you have the wrong settings on eHarmony. That site has produced numerous leads, most of whom I rejected because of personal considerations, though they were remarkable women. -

That is funny. I knew right away you were from Lake City as that is where I am from. I live in Valdosta, and we are very similar to Lake City. Congratulations on your weight loss. -

I had the gastric sleeve surgery on 02/20 in Mexico where a lot of Americans go and save a lot of money. The surgery was easy. The hard part is learning to adapt to the restrictions after the surgery. That will come in time and the results will be worth the lifelong restrictions. Go for it! -

Go slow, very slow. If you are satisfied with a fling, then you don't risk a lot, except STDs. Someone without sexual partners may have deeper issues than you may see on the surface. Good luck. -

I am 59, weighed 375 and am 5'9" tall. I highly recommend losing as much weight as you can before the surgery. This will increase the safety of the procedure and will make the surgery easier for the doctor and yourself. My pain was very well managed after the procedure and I stopped all pain medications 2 days after my surgery. Travel light with a small suitcase with rollers. Don't worry about looking glamorous until you return home. I expect you will do well with this procedure. -

I had the gastric sleeve on 02/20/2010 in Tijuana. My surgeon was Dr. Mario Almanza. He is an excellent surgeon. I have lost approximately 25 pounds in the past 2 weeks. There seems to be a preference for the gastric sleeve as it does not require fills and there is no concern regarding deterioration or slippage. The procedure was easy and I recommend it. I am 5' 9" and weighed 375#. -

You are doing great. You are a bit ahead of me, but you give me inspiration. My sleeve on 02/20/2010. I'm early to this process, and adjusting to the sleeve. Keep us informed and share tips on how to ajust. Thanks. Burton Fletcher, Valdosta, GA -

I look forward to dating again. I am mentally fit, and when I am again physcially fit I'll be ready to bring a lot of value to a relationship. I am a retired college and university professor, with a background in management, marketing and law. I am a licensed lawyer in Georgia and I own www.GeorgiaLoanClosers.com a loan closing business in Georgia. I had my surgery in Tijuana on 02/20/2010. The experience was not perfect, but the doctor was excellent and the folks I was with were exceptional. I am dropping weight and am looking forward to being on this journey with others. I'm 59, SWM, non-religious, 5'9" tall. I think it would be great to be in a relationship with a woman who truly understands our journey and our road to recovery.
