    Monday Morning Weigh In

    Lol. Lmao! The important thing is that u finished. I wanna run a marathon soooo freaking bad! I was only at my highest weight (240) for a couple months not long-- before that I was 180 an running 6-7 miles and working my way up to a half marathon. I'm so sad I have to start over. I'm almost 2 mo post-op and I'm up to 2-3 miles.

    My surgery day 2/4/10 I was 240 and now a week from 2 months I am 201.6 :-)) I wanted to run the L.A. marathon so bad yesterday I cant wait til next year- I'm totally doing it!!!!

    Protein

    Saulzy- I totally understand how u feel about the gaging and the even the THOUGHT of gagging down a protein shake makes me sad. One thing I've been doing is in a water bottle mixing half a bottle o isopure RTD which would b 20g protein and then the other half water and a hawaiin punch sugar-free to-go packet (which come in a bunch of awesome fruity flavors) this concoction is pretty decent. Then the other thing is I've been making vanilla protein pudding made by ProDesert. It's instant pudding tht u mix with water and gives 25g protein. It's really yummy and I've added a little sugarfree flavored syrups i.e. Butterscotch, cookie dough, etc. This has been a yummy protein treat that goes down amazingly!!!

    Tiff- what's the total carb count on your daily vitamin intake? Is it high like angels or it lower? And when you said you were keeping under 30g during the honeymoon phase you counted the carbs in the vitamins correct?

    Lost interest

    I'm 4 weeks today and all week I have been struggling with this non-desire to eat. It's killing me because I know I am seriously lacking calories. LIke yesterday I ate some egg whites with cut up deli turkey and a little cheese on top and that was it all day. I drank a lot of water and it just felt like there was no room for food. It's like when I wasn't drinking enough water I had a little bit more of an appetite, like I would eat 3 times instead of 1. BUt now that I'm chugging down water all day it just feels like there's no room for anything else. I know I need food and I know I need water and I know I need protein. How the heck do you get it all in during the day?!? It seems like I can't do them all together. It's getting really emotional because I want to be successful but it doesn't seem feasible for me.
  8. I will try it just so I don't rule it out before giving it a try. It's just hard for me to try new things being a picky eater. But imma try it :-))

And before now I use to think the same way about not worrying about eating good carbs but ever since reading how evil they are I just tried to eliminate them as much as possible. But thanks again for your POV
  10. So i just concocted a yummy snack with my Fage. The serving size on the Fage 0% is a cup with 9g carbs and 20g protein and I was like wow, I can't possibly eat a whole cup of this stuff at once. So I mixed 1/2 cup with half a scoop of my cookies and cream protein Whey and 1 packet of splenda, mmmmmmm yummy. So for only 4 oz. the carbs dropped to 5.6g, 100 calories, .2g fat, and the best part back to 20g of PROTEIN yah!!!
  11. I just browsed through the website. Most of the meals appear to be 7-9oz servings around 200 cals, 25-35g protein, 5-9 carbs, 2-4 g fiber, 5-6g fat. I didn't look at every single item but I did browse quite a few.It seems they use soy meat in their products. That was the only thing for me everything looked god except for the soy meat. I don't think I will enjoy soy meat. So if I order anything from there it will b meatless.

    Work

    I had surgery on 2/4 which was a thursday, came home sunday, was off monday and went to work Tuesday 2/9. I know it sounds crazy but I felt awesome. I did not want to sit at home and I had tons of energy. Even crazier I went to the gym on that wednesday 2/10 (just to walk the tredmill of course). I did not have tons of pain or feel tired. I don't know why but I just didn't. Totally unexpected, LOL.
  15. So, today I tried Almond Breeze in my protein shake instead of milk and it's a non-dairy beverage made from real almonds, all natural, smooth and creamy with a hint of almonds. To me it doesn't have the thin, chalky after taste of rice and soy beverages. I absolutely love it!!! it was awesome I only used 6 ounces, but per 8 oz. serving it's only 40 calories, 3 g fat, and 2g carbs:thumbup: YAHHH! there's only 1 g protein but because i was using it in my protein drink, that didnt bother me. If you like almonds, which I do, you will like this because it tastes JUST like almonds! I am so excited to have found a low-carb alternative to milk!!!
  16. I try to use water in my protein drinks but they just taste gross. It's hard enough trying to chug down protein but to make them with water is toooo hard for me. But I will try the low carb soy milk and see how that works. And definitely switching to Greek yogurt. Thanks for the suggestions.
  17. How did everyone keep their carbs at 30-35g a day?!? Just from the first half of the day I am already at about 20g!!! And that just might consist of a protein shake with very low carb Whey, 6oz. Skim milk, and maybe only 2 times a week I'll add like 1/4 frozen fruit blueberries or strawberries or pineapples. All the snacks I consume I try to make them low carb,i.e. No-sugar applesauce 4oz, nonfat yogurt4oz, etc. But by the end of the day when I'm adding it all together it always seems to come to 55-60g!!!! I am stuck because I write everything down I read labels carefully and I thought I made wise choices but it can't b that wise if I'm consuming 60 g of carbs daily. Right?
