I started exercising 5 days after my surgery so I don't kno how my body would have reacted if I didn't exercise. But I haven't hit a stall as of yet and I'm hoping I won't, at least not until I'm really really close to goal, which is right around the corner it seems:001_wub: But I do know my body really needs to exercise to lose based on past attempts of eating good and no exercise= maintaining the same weight.

Also, if you are increasing your cardio you may want to increase your calories a little. Just maybe 100 extra cals. I noticed that I increased my cardio a LOT and wasn't losing but when I added in a few more carbs for energy and recovery I would drop a couple pounds. Weird but its what happened. If your body is expelling more energy you need to put in a little more so you body doesn't think you are starving it.

Hey MacMadame and Attitudefree! I too am training for my first triathlon. The big one I want to do is in October and I was hoping to get a couple of practice sprints in there in the next couple of months before then. I am also looking for a new bike. What do you think about a Dawes Lightening or a Motobecane as an entry level bike? I found some at pretty good prices, I just wanna make sure I get a good enough bike. I can't spend thousands on one anytime soon but I do want to get one that will do it's job. MacMadame what do you suggest as far as gear, one of my biggest things is I don't want to spend a bunch of money on clothes for my tris and then I lose more weight after and won't be able to fit them and have to buy new stuff. OMG it's such an exciting new world that I am ready to embark on, I am totally looking foward to becoming a new triathlete:drool5:

The sleeve is perfect for you. You won't have the easy weight regain once you lose; it's possible to regain but it's so easy NOT to with this wonderful tool. I wish you the best of luck and go for it!!! -

Good job gals! You all are making such wonderful progress! I stepped out the 190s like Barbara this week, I'm 187! Yah! It's such a great feeling. AJW- great pictures and good to see your still rocking your sleeve at 8 months out. You will get to goal in no time.

Congrats on the big 4-0 Mini!!!! You're doing great don't be so hard on yourself. And yes, there are days that I feel like I can eat a bunch and then the next day barely anything. Gotta love the sleeve!!!

Good luck Tiffany! You will do great. This is why you are getting the sleeve so that you can't say "WHY CAN'T I STOP EATING" lol because after tomorrow you will be able to stop YAHHHH!!!! -
Nice move Mary. You should totally let people know about your surgery the way YOU want to tell them. It's your journey and your first-hand experience is the best way to let people kno about it. Good luck!!!

Hey there. I was just seeing how you were doing? Havent seen you in the air for a while. How was your wedding? And did you ever break that long stupid stall? Hope all is well :-)
-
You are absolutely right Nikki! I totally agree with you. Our sleeve is not a magic bullet that makes us work out or take care of our bodies like we're supposed to, hell, it doesn't even make us eat the "right" foods for that matter. Yea it helps us eat less but our sleeve doesn't "pick" our foods and make us not eat fattening foods. As there are plenty of people with WLS that indulge in "non-diet" foods during the losing stage. That is one reason I don't tell people about my surgery because they think it's the reason for the total package and it's not. It's still hard work, and we still should be given credit where credit is due. Nikki, I'm so sorry for your mom's inconsiderance to your feelings. I would be devasted just like you. I would react the same way, like wanting to change gyms. That must be very hard for you because she's your mom and it's such a fine line... Hope everything works out, and hopefully she keeps her mouth shut and takes your feelings and wishes into consideration.

Dang, Tiff...this must be one of hardest things to go through. I'm like Nikki when I stress, I forget to eat, nothing tastes good or I don't even have the desire to put anything in my mouth, especially not glasses and glasses of water. But you seem to be actually eating a pretty good amount compared to what you were eating during your losing phase. You know one thing that could be bringing on the change is that your body is shocked that you aren't really counting or limiting your carbs anymore. I have definitely noticed that when I eat a little more carbs I lose more weight. Your metabolism has probably improved soooo much and adding more carbs to your diet is really just giving you energy and weight loss. Hopefully it will level out once your body gets used to all these changes. Good luck!

Yes, Ash, get on top!!! lol, or you also have from the side or the back (my faves) You can def be creative with positions where he doesnt have to feel frustrated on top

Great news Dan! That's amazing! Today we're fifty-pound-mark-buddies!!!! I am fifty pounds down and half way to my goal as well. Congrats!!!! And just keep pushing yourself and you will totally jog that whole three miles. I can't wait to hear about it the day you conquer it:thumbup:

Exploring your body alone will definitely help you understand what you like and what makes you feel good. Then you will be able to let him know what you like. Although a lot of women aren't comfortable with it, I am a very big advocate of exploring your own body sexualy. Good luck !!
-
Exactly!!! I love it! That's the right attitude to have. I can't wait to hear how you murdered that short walk:001_tongue:

Hey there. I think you should take a stab at it. At least try it and see if it's too much. Don't just write it off as something you don't think you can do. I know everyone's body is different and everyone's recovery is different, so just see how you feel. I personally had a lot of energy immediately after surgery, no pain. I went back to work 4 days after surgery and was at the gym 5 days after surgery walking on the tredmill. My progress took off pretty quick, I only stayed on walking for a little while and soon went into jogging and other cardio. I love the feeling of pushing myself and getting it done. I think you'll be happy if you push yourself for that half mile walk, BTW would start your exercising regimine off wonderfully Just maybe give yourself a little extra time than normal before work so that if you need to take breaks you can. I'm rooting for you!!!:thumbup1:
