Are you asking in general or for insurance? My surgeon likes BMi of 35 or over for the sleeve so I just qualify. Kathy

Update on me 9.5 months out
SParkle replied to TennJenn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Tennjenn - thanks so much for sharing and congratulations on being below target. Your story rang a particular bell with me as we're about the same starting BMI, and from the sound of it our habits are very similar, so theres a few tips in it for me when I get sleeved in a couple of weeks. Do keep us informed how you get on - are you looking to loose more or maintain now? Kathy -
I'm June 10th but here in Spain!...Good luck with yours. Kathy

Hi and welcome I think your concerns are ones we all go thru... but I am hoping that the end result will be the reward for it all. No one will judge you for what you put... we're all here for the same reason - support, so guaranteed what your feeling someone else out there is feeling too. Good luck Kathy

Hi and welcome I'm sure you'll find all the support you need here... I know my decision was made so much easier by the wealth of information on here from other sleevers. Good luck with your loan.. hope if comes thru quick for you Kathy

Congrats on being a June sleever!! Fingers crossed your boss doesn't make this too hard for you - you need all your energy to concentrate on the op and the mental issues that come with it, so the less stress in the rest of your life the better. Good luck Kathy
-
Deedee - so sorry to hear you're still in hospital, and about the leak. I really hope they get it sorted soon and that you'll be home with your family. Kathy

Good luck babe... thinking of you! Let us know as soon as you can how you're doing. Kathy -
I've read quite a bit and was all prepared for the post op thing with my Protein Shakes etc....but today at my pre op tests when I got my diets the only time I would be comsuming even 60g is in the pre op stage, the post op stages say only 2 shakes a day (they have me on Optifast which is also high carb.....and about 17g Protein per shake.) I asked about Protein Drinks and was told these would give me everything I required. So what do I do... just go with their plan and hope I keep my hair??!!! Or add in a very low carb or carb free Protein Drink as well? Hubby seems to think I should stick to their plan...... but I can admit I am a little scared! Any recommendations Tiff? Kathy

Congrats to you all.... I have just got back from my pre op tests, all went well, see the Dr next on 3 June, for all the results. Also talked to dietitian and got pre and post op diets. Kathy

Hiya Congrats on your surgery and the weight loss - I have 3 weeks to wait, and really wish I could fast forward them now. Keep up the good work - sounds like you might be slowing down a little but I know the lower BMI/less weight to loose peeps loose a bit slower anyway... but slow is good too..... so good luck - keep us informed. Kathy
-
I get that too..... I know in theory from this board, and think I have my head round it... but think reality will only actually kick in post op - when theres no going back (not that I'd want to!!). For me its like something I have always wanted but never dreamed I could have.... so almost the unthinkable.... to be slim!!!

I've just caught up with this thread, so I do hope things are getting easier for your wife Champ.... tell her we're all rooting for her!! Kathy
-
Congrats on your date - I'm on June 10th, and theres quite a few of us in June.. so you're gonna have a lot of surgery buddies!! Good luck Kathy
-
I think she was referring to it sounding like the other side of life, rather than of the op.....:confused1: Anyhow...Good luck Gator Mum.... update as soon as you can. Kathy
-
Yeahh!! Well done Good luck Kathy
-
Sounds like his bedside manner could do with a little work, but he may have done you a favour in the long run - get the tests and possibly a second opinion... but you need to be as healthy as possible before going into the op, otherwise you put yourself at risk. Good luck Kathy

new here and thinking of getting sleeved..
SParkle replied to latoya79's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi and welcome I can't speak of the band, except to say from what I read I decide against it, and then found out about the sleeve, which 'fits' perfectly for me. I know theres lots of peeps having revisions from bands to the sleeve for one reason or another... i decided against it mainly for the following reasons: Foreign object in my body No guarantee to loose, and having to have the band filled up to find your level to loose - and the cost involved with that, would rather have a one off payment (I'm self paying) to make sure its done rather than an unknown amount in the future. Good luck with your research and let us know how it goes Kathy
