    Piercings/Jewelry?

WEeeelllllll.........I've not asked my surgeon, but I have removed all of mine and replaced them with the plastic ones.... The one in my tongue as well, but I am going to remove that as I know they don't like anything in your mouth which shouldn't be in there! lol If your piercings are in cartilidge then they won't ever close over - the hole may close up quite a bit, but you should always be able to restretch it back out again with taper pins - I even use these for my ear piercings as I rarely wear jewellery in them now. If your hospital stay is only for a couple of nights then you should be fine. The norm is to take off anything metal - I think as if the worst happened and they need to shock you, they prefer to do so without anything metal on your skin....(unless someone knows otherwise). Good luck - If its any different I'll post as soon as I'm back home!! Kathy

    June Surgery anyone?

Good luck Zephra and all others!! I wrote a note, and stuck it, eye level on the fridge - "DON'T EAT!!!" I have to say it helped!!! Maybe get your worst photo and add it to it...and stock up for food for anyone else in the house in advance - the less you have to deal with food when you can't eat it the better IMO!! Good luck Kathy

    Venting/stalled/trouble

I trust the more experienced will step in with this one, but maybe you hit the stall early?? My vote would be hang in there and keep on as you are, keep track of everything and eventually it should start dropping off. Good luck Kathy

i am really about to do this!

Hi there - Congratulations! Its a tough decision to make, but you've done the hard bit and faced your demons. Just think - if you can get a grip on the panic pre op eating (which is hard I will admit) and saying goodbye to foods which you'll probably still be able to eat long term anyway, then 341 won't get any higher, and will only come down!! Good luck with the journey - we'll look forward to reading thru your blogs and sharing it with you. Kathy

Yuk - Why didn't anyone warn me?

LOL - Mine wasn't too bad tasting, strawberry flavoured. But I'll warn you... when you feel the need to pass this stuff... take a tip and do it in a public loo.....Mine took ages to go thru the system... as it went all hard! LMAO - my husband found it so funny! (But men are like that!). Good luck

    SUMMER or FALL sleeve????

I can only speak as a pre sleever... but I'd rather get it over with. We started looking at the sleeve idea back in February, and were waiting for finances to get moved around and a family wedding commitment before booked a date. I'd much rather have had it done there and then, instead of waiting. I also think I will be less likely to want lots of food in the summer months (we're in Spain so it gets quite hot here). And I can make use of the cooler mornings and evenings to do some walking, and use our pool for swimming in once cleared for it after surgery. In the winter months I'll not be able to swim (as the pool will be too cold) and I love it. I know some have found their liquids really hard, I'm finding it (pre op so far) ok.... and have been around people when they are eating. I can honestly say I have not drooled once....and found it quite a rewarding challenge to cope with it. One way to cope might be to do the cooking,..... and busy yourself that way, rather than sit around waiting for cooked food that you can't eat. I get a lot of satisfaction from providing for people, knowing they can gain the weight not me!! LOL Good luck Kathy
  25. Don't apologise for the rant - thats what we are here for....I think we've all been in similar situations, so can all identify with your feelings. Its a brilliant incentive for you tho - perhaps next year you'll be running with them - you never know!! Chin up! Kathy
