  1. I had to cook for my husband last night, and had to get him to taste it all... as I kept having to remind myself I couldn't!! Its hard!! I have still got my pre op diet sign on the fridge, at eye level saying DON'T EAT! - Maybe you could do one, adding in LICK as well! :001_tongue: Stick with it. Kathy
  2. You sound like I felt but a day before...each day I feel slightly better, but I certainly haven't felt like a spring chicken yet!! I've also been coughing and have a new best friend of a cushion, to help hold against me when coughing or laughing as it hurts so much!! Are you taking your temp - is that ok? If so then its gonna be fine.... it'll just work its way thru you..... Hope today you're feeling a bit better!! - And well done on your weightloss!! I regained everything I lost during pre op and have only just evened back out again but am so swollen its unreal! Kathy
  3. Ouroborous - can I ask how you have your steak? I love(d) mine rare.....and would love to think there might still be a remote chance I can still have it that way... if not I don't think I'll bother trying it! Kathy
  4. LOL......me too!!! Kathy

    Aching back muscles?

Its easing slightly... was good to get out and walk yesterday, and I'm out again in a moment, so hopefully it'll pass in its own time. How long do you have to wait before you can go see your chiropractor post op? Kathy
  6. I now know who she is.... just watched a episode of Biggest Loser.... what is with her and the two fingers into her eyes thing....WHY does she keep doing that?? Don't like her!!
  7. Thanks - I just kept making notes of things I wanted to know, and questions from this board as well when I was researching it all.... :001_tongue:

    Why do I eat!

You may also find this website useful to help identify yourself.....Intuitive Eating.... It was recommended to me by someone on here, and I have found where my issues with food are through the book. Good luck

    Scheduled for June 10th!

Hi Riley Glad to hear it all went well for you. I also felt like an old lady... very unsteady on my feet although that has eased every day, and with muscular back pains from not walking upright enough....but I figured I'll do as much as my body tells me it'll allow. I'm on the Optifast drinks post op, and broth, and have managed to get some Protein in but not enough! I'll check out your blog tho - and congrats on being sleeved!! Kathy
  10. Good luck babe!!!

  11. Sounds you had a great day - congratulations!!! And it'll only get better - what a wonderful gift you have given not only yourself but your family as well. Keep up the good work Kathy
  12. Jane - you're looking fabulous! you must be so pleased with the results.

Helping my children cope with comments

    How fantastic!!! :scared0: Kathy
  16. I was talking to my husband on this stalling point, and he came out with something I'd not thought of.... if it seems to occur when most people hit the mushie/soft food stage, some of it might be due to the fact your bowels are filling back up again. Although the Protein drinks may fill you up actual food will do s omore, and result in a BM..... and as the intestines are fairly long then surely a lot or the pre op weightloss we experience is also the fact our bowels are emptying. Therefore surely when they refill we'll either stall or possibly even gain a little?? I thought it made sense anyway! lol Kathy
  17. Mine is SO verbal!! Its weird as well the trail of bubbles I can feel when I take a sip, having to wait for them to rise before the next one - I couldn't rush the sips if I wanted to!! Kathy
  18. Why does it have to be a cheat? Why can't they see He (we've) may have tried everything he could but not succeeded, so gone to a method where he really has no choice but to alter his lifestyle, or loose his life. (I don't know this Jillian woman... but will try and look her up, so at the moment can't comment on her.) Kathy
  19. Good question...I'm not a massive drinker as I usually drive, but its good to know..... Kathy
  20. Hiya - Have woken up early, as normal I think at the moment, feeling a little less sore than yesterday. Did you weigh yet? LOL - I regained almost everything I lost pre op but have lost 4lbs of that today, I know it'll settle. Hubby says he will remove the scales, but its just a game I play, girl thing having dieted for half my life!!

We're going out to walk today somewhere flat - our 'block' involves a steep hill (which you can take either way, up or down) but I am not sure I can do it all just yet, so we'll take a drive to the beach and walk along the prom which will be nice.

I am just about managing my fluids only if I drink all day! Not sure how I'll cope with stopping after meals when we get onto 'proper' food....

Hope today is good for you....

    Kathy

  21. Boy - you just don't realise how little you can/want to sip afterwards until you're there. I've been trying to practise getting fluids in, and can easily do 1.5lt a day of just water.... Now even a chupito of water with my painkiller in, let alone a 200ml glass looks big to me!! I'm going to have to make sure I have a drink with me at all times at this rate to make sure I stay hydrated, hubby is under strict instructions to ask if I have a drink when he sees me!!

    How much fluid??!

Thanks for the tip....I'll be trying that one out. Kathy

Yeah well done!! Can't wait to join you there..... Keep up the good work Kathy
  24. I'm with Ouroborous on this one... take it carefully and don't over do things too much, but I'm sure you'll be seeing fab results really quickly. Congrats on being sleeved Kathy

    Why do I eat!

Jenn I can identify with your post - I eat out of habit, being bought up in a family where you had 3 meals a day at certain times... eat everything on your plate. Its very hard to get out of the habits instilled into us as kids. My worst times were after lunch... sometimes I would go without Breakfast and be fine, but once I started then I found it hard not to graze all afternoon. Within such a short space of time my head has totally got round this.... probably due to the surgery, but I don't feel hungry now, and hopefully wont! lol..... but even on my pre op diet I didn't have a problem with wanting to cheat.... I was 100% with it, which then gave me the best start I could give it. As far as the exercise is concerned i do think the more you see thew weight coming off the more likely you are to want to exercise, the more energy you will have as well. Plus as Tiff says its a way of avoiding the food....do anything else you can, clean the house, put on a exercise dvd, walk the dog - or borrow one! If you want it enough then you can work the tool of the sleeve and make it work for you. Kathy
