  1. But you'll come back a changed woman - you're flying to literally change your life forever. Keep calm, and good luck with your op - you'll do great..... make sure you take what you need with you for the journey home and take it easy. Post when you can to let us know you're on the losers bench!! Kathy

    Starting with Low BMI

I can second that.... my highest BMI was 40, but I had the op when it was 35.8, and it now 32.8. I've yoyo'd all my life, and was fed up with the regaining and all the hard work I put in.... If the surgery had existed years back and I had been able to afford it then I would have done so.... Good luck with your op Kathy
  3. Thanks - I'll check it out.

    Soups?

I'm not sure if it means just literally blend them in a blender or if its a blend of foods...so more than one ingredient. My Dad used to get a cauliflower cheese one... which sounds a bit gross but I love cauliflower cheese so i might give it a go over the next few days. Also another favourite of mine is tomato and basil, and roasted butternut squash and red pepper. Enjoy!! Kathy

    Feeling really sick

Hang in there - and don't get hung up about your weight - I gained everything I lost on my pre op diet whilst in hospital... it'll work for you, but you need to be patient. Likely your body is hanging onto everything as you're ill! Get better soon Kathy

    Stuck feeling??

I do have a fairly hairy gag reflex and I have a tongue scraper.... duely purchased last week when all this started. I scrape as far back as I can without heaving!! Plus we use a mouthwash as well.... so heres hoping!! :drool5:

    Stuck feeling??

I get the heart burn in the morning thing... and also have a slight stuck feeling... but I wonder if this is due to the fact my tongue is getting really furred up from the protein drinks... I can clean the bit I can see... but not the part which goes down my throat so i wondered if it might be furry down there!! LOL

    The official Spaghetti Squash topic~

I've not tried the spagetti one, but I love butternut squash..... wouldn't be without it!! ;o)
  19. Can any of the Protein drinks be done warm? I have some coffee flavour Optifast which I can have with Water or skimmed milk..... would be good to try!! Kathy

    My Journey

Deedee - you're looking fabulous!! And only 10lbs to go.... good luck with that. Can I ask how quick you lose it now? Do you think it'll take long for that last 10lbs? Good luck an thanks for posting the photos Kathy
  21. TO me it sounds like the perfect scenario....its usually all buffet food so you have plenty of choice right there in front of you. You should be on 'normal' food by then. If you're with people who don't know about your surgery then just use the excuse for your smaller portions to be because you're doing so well on your diet, and you know how much weight people can put on when cruising.... Have a great time!!
  22. Good luck to you both! Hoping you both have an uneventful surgery and let us know as soon as you can how it went. Take care Kathy

  25. Me too.... I'm on day 10 and start full liquids today. Musshies start in another 10 days and 'normal' foods at 28 days post op.
