  1. Can't believe it's been 4 weeks already. I'm feeling good, with the exception of a cold or allergies. (can't tell which one it is...maybe both)but the great news is that I'm down 19.5/20 lbs since surgery (50 lbs total) and I am so grateful for this. I haven't felt this good in years...The sleeve is definately the tool that gives one a new lease on life when used properly. With a very slow metabolism,(almost backwards, as my primary care Dr. stated) I'm looking at a slower, but steady progressive downward slope, which is just fine with me It's exciting :thumbup:to be back participating in life once again, rather than just exsisting in it!!!:biggrin0: Here's wishing everyone a wonderful and beautiful day!!. Talk later, Bye
  2. Congratulations Lee on all of your success thus far!!! Sounds like you are doing great. It's exciting to see and hear from someone who's just a lil further out and ahead in the journey to better health than myself. Today is my one week (7 days) post op and I'm feeling rather good, so, I'm assuming that everything thats going on inside of me is doing great too;). My surgery was done at Fremont Kaiser. I am 5 ft. 5 in. at 54 and 9/12 th years old, but feeling much younger than I have the last couple months. My heaviest overrall weight was 257, surgery day weight was 227 and this morning the scale says 217. What a shocker!!. Morbidly obese. looking forward to following in your succesful footsteps and getting rid of those dificult, harsh, labling words off my chart too.!!! Again, CONGRATS to you!!!:001_tongue: Look forward to continuing hearing from you and everyone else. I'ts so nice to have such a wonderful , commonality group of support!! I love it!!
  3. Sleeved-check. Recovering-check. My re-Birth-priceless! 4 days post op. Surprised at how well I feel! The hospital was rough. Had an IV debocle-IV infiltrated and busted through the vein just after surgery, so none of my pain meds and anti nausea meds were getting through my body. My arm was swollen, hot and red! Needless to say, dry heaving after gastric surgery is NOT a good thing! Thank goodness my daughter was able to come for a visit and stay with me overnight at the hospital. It was a rough night, but I made it through and was able to go home the next day. Walking everyday and enjoying NOT being hungry! Still getting used to small sips... gotta love those burps and hiccups! Feeling fantastic! Almost off pain meds and lovin' every minute of my new journey! Thanks for everyone's friendship and support! You guys are the best! Talk with you lighter later! :tongue_smilie:

    New to site

Thanks for the warm welcomes. Wed. the 10th is right around the corner. At this point I'm a lil more excited than not, but somewhat anxious, as I'll be having my gallbladder out at the same time. Not knowing how the re-coup is going to be with BOTH!???! Sheesh!!! :001_unsure:...so in that regards to that, I'm a lil concerned. My surgery will be done at Fremont Kaiser in northern CA. Thanks again for all the insight, tips and info that you all share on this site. It is a great help and comfort to us all. I'll be keeping in touch with updates.
  14. Hello everyone. After much deep soul searching , I came to the conclusion that I needed to take ACTION. Something needed to be done. But wasn't sure if anything could be done because of many previous abdominal surgeries. I went to a pre over all basic weight loss mtg. that was required in Oct and then a general orientation in Nov., and learned of the available options. Meeting with the surgeon on the 3rd of Dec. at consult was quite an experience. She flat out told me that I was not a good candidate for roeyn- y and that the sleeve would be my only option. I had already been researching and gathering info on the sleeve, and low and behold I found you wonerful people on this site! I've been watching, reading and listening to you guys for 5 months. Needless to say, I've worked really hard to loose my required weight and my surgery is going to be Wed., March 10th , 8:30 am. It all seems so surreal in the sense that this is really going to happen . Having this surgery gives me brightness of hope for a healthier, happier, fulfilling (excuse the pun) future. Thank you for sharing the good, bad and truthfulness of it all. It is greatly appreciated!!:thumbup1:
