I was sleeved on Jan 4th. For a while my cravings went away. I lost 29 pounds. But now I seem stuck. And all I can think about is sugar cookies....seriously. What happened to the ghrelin and the no more cravings! I'm so sad I even feel this way. I don't want to have wasted my surgery... Help! Stacey:huh0:

I was sleeved on Jan 4th and have lost 29 pounds but seem to be stuck. And I seem to have the weirdest cravings for sugar cookies. What the heck is wrong with me? I only have one pound to go to get to the one hundreds but can't seem to move the scale at all and all I think about are those darn sugar cookies. I hope I didn't do this surgery in vain. I really don't want to be heavy forever. Thanks Stacey

1 week post op and still feeling bad
thinstacey replied to AmyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Amy, I am sorry you have had such a rough go of it. I had my sleeve done on Jan 4 at Kaiser West LA with Dr Kim. When I went home the next day, I did feel horrible. The ride home was gnarly. But the next day I felt so much better. They had given me some liquid pain med when I left the hospital which I did take for a few days but after that I didn't feel I needed it. And believe me, I am a BIG GIANT BABY. (Ask my room mates). They also sent me home with a multi-vit, b12, b1, and a prescription Prilosec that come in capsule form. So I just take them apart and take that one. I had a one week post appt to make sure my healing and labs all looked good. I was sent home with a nutritionist and lists of what to eat when. And a 24 hour line to call if I had any issues or questions. I did feel sort of uncomfortable for the first week or two. A lot of gas issues, (which he hospital sent me home with pills for that too). Now I am a month out. I am starting to feel a lot better. I know you will too. It takes time but you will get there! Stacey -
OK. Gross topic, I know. But I am supposed to be on my period now. And I can't even say that I am spotting. Maybe a tiny little bit, but that is it. Is this normal? :confused1: It has been a month since I got my sleeve. Thanks, Stacey

Does anyone know if you can eat the Myoplex or protein type bars 4 weeks out from sleeve surgery? I found one with 15 grams of protein, 11g of sugar. Am afraid to try it. Any experienced folks on here?? Thanks, Stacey

OK. Had sleeve done 1-4-10. Lost 19 pounds so far. But lately, feeling really low energy and depressed. I tried to eat a little bit of cornbread the other day and had the weirdest reaction. I had this fever feeling all over and these terrible cramps. Guess cornbread is a bad call. I just miss eating I guess. I miss Coke. My family doesn't get it cause I've lost some weight and I am glad of that. I just wish I felt better. Wish everytime I ate soup I didn't get gas or feel bad. What a downer post huh? Any suggestions? Thanks, Stacey in SoCal

I was just wondering about milk. I was sleeved on the 4th of Jan. and have been drinking light soy milk. But is it OK to drink regular milk? I never had a problem with milk before. I'm just wondering if the sleeve/surgery has now made it impossible to drink regular. I haven't tried it, but was just wondering... Thanks!

Thanks so much for the help! This is the only place I can get any answers! My doc told me I had gall stones prior to my sleeve. I asked why they didn't just take the gall bladder out at the same time, but he said they didn't want to add to the surgery if they weren't bothering me. I hope they don't start. I really really don't want another surgery. I'm a big giant baby. :thumbup1: Thanks, Stacey

OK. Got sleeved on Jan 4th. The first week or so, having runny bm's. But the last week and a half or so, not having too many at all. Maybe one smallish one every three days or so. Is this normal? I know, gross topic. But I don't know who else to ask. :blushing:

Hey thanks for the idea! So how are you doing as far as eating? Are you doing the pureed meat thing? I haven't been able to bring myself to do this yet. I have had some fish and just chew it to death. The thing I miss for sure is rice and bread!

Greetings all! I had the gastric sleeve on Jan 4 at Kaiser West LA. All in all, doing pretty good. However, it seems no matter what I do, I keep getting this gas pain. It seems to sit right in the upper back area. Is anyone else experiecing this or have any ideas?? Thanks, Stacey
