  1. I wonder if you are not getting enough Protein? Consuming too many carbs (simple carbs) will make you feel hungry. Personally, I find that the more carbs I eat the more I become addicted to them...so I limit them to the max. My surgeon told me to completely cut out grazing. Xx
  2. You may not feel hunger at first, but do be careful with the feeling of thirst...it actually mimics "hunger" a lot. I have read somewhere that he feeling of hunger depends on how much grehlin hormone remains in your pouch. I'm three months out and still don't feel "hunger" in the typical sense...but I do have a feeling of "emptiness". Good luck with your journey to the losers bench. Xx

Well done. That's excellent weight loss. I have lost 55 lbs in 13 weeks. Only really got 35 lbs to go...although not sure if I want to lose that much. It sure is a journey lol Xxx

It's good to log back in every now and again....can't beat advice from fellow bariatric patients. How much have you lost? I only had my surgery 13 weeks ago...and although don't visit the site every day, it's a great support when I need it. It's good to support others too when they need i. Xx
  5. It sounds like she has a stomach virus or is just experiencing normal early pregnancy "early morning" sickness. Always best to get to the doctor to get things checked out. Congratulations Grandma xxx

It would be nice to know "WHY"?
  8. There must be someone or something you can do. X
  9. If you are going to be there all day, it sounds like pre-op to me...but I got my date before that. Call your office.

    anyone have strictures?

    What does it feel like?
  11. Fusion now do a soft chew and they do not have iron in them. They are delicious but you have to take 6 per day.

    Nothing taste right

This happened to me too....gradually getting back to normal but I still have a bit of an aversion to sweet flavors...gone off of things I used to love. Xx

    Mental hunger

It's not really hunger so try to keep that in mind. Thirst can also be confused with hunger so try drinking. Are you getting enough Protein? Protein can stave off hunger. Xx
  14. I don't think you need that amount of Protein. I think around 75 will be enough. I drink Premier Protein x 2 per day @ 30g per carton and then try to get protein from food source....I'm only 5 weeks out so it's a bit tough for me right now. I'm not sure about calorie intake at your stage but I'm sure someone will help with that soon... Xx
  15. Got my shakes yesterday along with the chewable vits and the scar cream. Love the scar cream. Xx
  16. Call them...they are super nice on the phone. If you get the answer phone, they do ring you back. Xx
  17. For the last 3 days I have had diarrhea. I am 12 days post op. Is this normal? I had some diarrhea briefly immediately but put that down to all the medication, but this is horrible. I'm running to the toilet several times per day. Anyone else have this? Xx
  18. Anyone successful with Tricare Prime? I have been waiting for ages now...keep being told that it's still with their pharmacy and there is a backlog.

    PROTEIN HELP PLEASE!

You allowed bagel chips? You do ok with them? My surgeon says no bread at all...I was a bit disappointed as I thought I could at least have toast. Xx

    Ulcer

Oh my. I hope he is doing better now. What treatment are they going to do for him. I know this might sound gross, but what was his fecal matter like? I know they say black feces indicate upper gi bleed, and bright red blood indicate lower gi bleed, but what's the consistency like? I'm three weeks out and have had diarrhea for at least 2 weeks, it is dark but I have been told it's that I'm not tolerating the Protein shakes well (what else can I do?) and that the color is probably down to the Iron I'm taking. I was also told to continue taking Nexium for at least 6 months to prevent ulceration of the pouch. Did your husband take any medicine to prevent ulcers? It's so scary. I hope all is well now...take care. Xx

    enlarged stoma to quick?

I'm three weeks out and can gulp Water..I can drink fast with no problem. However, if I eat too much I feel the pouch tighten. I thought being able to drink normally was a good thing...I may be wrong. Also some Bypassers water load. Xx
  22. I'm three weeks out now and have been told by my surgeon to experiment now with food. To ensure I get the Protein in I'm thinking about still continuing with the shakes. But should I count these shakes as Fluid intake or count it as food? Of course I will be watching the calorie count. Xx
  23. The number I use is 877-513-5810 and usually an answer phone. Just leave your name and number and they do call you back. I'm Tri-Care Prime. It seems I'm waiting forever too. I spoke to them yesterday and they said they did receive the signed prescription fax from my PCM but, it was still with their (insure Nutrition) pharmacy. They said they would call me in a few days time. Good luck

    Yoghurts

Hi All Can anyone recommend good sugar free yoghurts please? Xx
  25. I was open, so that might make a difference. But my surgeon said no baths or swimming until the scar is pink and smooth....so no scabs. Xx
