I have been thinking about getting the Sleeve done and my insurance wont pay for it. I will b useing my tax return for some of it and financing the rest of it. If someone could be kind enough to tell me of some of the Dr's who might have a cheaper price and maybe someone that got financed for it that has ok credit? I dont know if I will even get approved with financing that's why I need a cheaper Dr., that way I can still afford it with out the finance. Im about 100lbs over weight. I feel bad about my self, I cant seem to breath right, I cant play with my 5 yr old son(he has a disability) so its hard for me to do things that he can do while im so big. The other day I knew I needed to get some help with weight loss because I had really bad thoughts. So, I just need help to find a good Dr. that dont cost to much. I have no problems going to Mexico. Thank you!

I am waiting till Aug or Sept next yr to get mine done. Anyone else going 2 wait till about then that wants to chat and encourage each other untill then?

I was wondering how ppl get the money to self pay? I will be a self payer also but can barley afford my bills right now as in having a child with disabilities. Any tips would be great! My credit is not so great so no financing for me. My insurance won't cover it either.

Booklean, how are you doing now that your 2 months out? I was thinking about going to mexico to have mine sometime next year but I have always wanted to travel. How much was your surgery and flight? Did you go alone?

I don't have a date yet or anytime soon but I would like to know what the diets are for dr.'s in Mexico please. I'm going to go ahead and try to see if I can do it. My will power is crap!:biggrin0: maybe if I can get through it then I will have more hope to one day get it done! Thanks to anyone!

Cammy, Thanks for your input! I think I'm gonna just do this one surrogacy and have the surgery. I'm gonna have another baby of my own but not for a few more years so that might be better on my body to wait. I always read that the bypass you shouldn't have babies cuz you won't get everything you need, but you can get most of what you need once you are stable in your wt after sleeve. As for the meds, my insurance covers all meds with $25 dollor copay. And if they wouldn't pay for extra ultrasounds then I could get them free at the clinic I work at. I'm a nurse that works with OB and family practice doctors and we do sono's in the office. But like you said I don't think I would risk it either! So I'm not going to do surrogacy after sleeve. I have had few Surrogacy Agency's say its fine after 18mns, but I'm not going to risk it for a family that's already spent enough to get to surrogacy. Thanks for your input girl! I am in the process of surrogacy and helping familys have babies! I'm over weight but healthy otherwise and am ok to get pregnant. I really would like to know if I would still be able to do surrogacy after I have vsg? Any help or comments would be great! Thanks!

I totally understand where your coming from! I have lots to lose and hate it.! I'm going to do strict diet for a surrogacy that I'm fixng to do and then I'm going to mexico next year to get sleeved! Wow! I thought I was the only one! I'm one of the happiest ppl you will meet, but if you got a look inside my head you would be running! Its what diet will I do this wk, I know I can handle no carb this time, new diet pill!, new work out video!, and so on. Glad to know I'm not the only one! I'm a nurse, and I have a patient that needs surgery. No information here because of hippa, but I want your opinons. Patients been in and out of hospital for past 2 yrs with same insurance. Its all weight related. Patient called BCBS TX and they told patient they dnt cover it. My doc basically said its life or death for him. I really want to help get him approved but not sure how to proceed. Suggestions anyone?

Dee dee, You look wonderful! I'm at the same exact size now that you started at! It let's me know there are others with my body type that can do it! Omgoodness, I really hope u feel better soon. Do you have a primary care doctor you see? Maybe you could see him and get him to change your meds to liquid. If you have a pharmacy that filled your pills then they will have the liqid form too, if they don't have it in stock they can order it for next day delivery. Doc might can even give you Phenergan liquid to take with your meds so you don't feel sick. If pharmacy says the can't or won't fill the liquid then go to a different one. If they won't then try and order online. You will need to talk with your doctor who wrote the RX to see if they will approve the fax the online company will send them(they have to do this because of narcotics) and see if they will rush it to you. Be very carefull doing this. They might even ship it to the doctors office. If so make sure you let the office know that's where its comeing so you get it on time. I don't know if this is going to help you but good luck!
