Need some opinions - New Hairstyle

Just another vote for A. Anyone thought about getting extensions if you hair starts thinning. they cost a bit, but heck you are worth it.
  3. 60 grams for me. It has only been a few days of clear liquids, and it is a toughie. today I discovered the protein bombs (40g)- I mix them with water. I have apple juice with 'unflavored' Unjury (20 grams).
  4. mine used a 32. my understanding is that there is not a huge difference. not big enough to stop you from losing the weight you expect.

    7 months post-op lab results

Congratulations Tiffany on the baby-making green light, and the clear labs. AWESOME AWESOME NEWS. So not only are you CUTE, you are healthy too :001_tongue:
  6. New attitude today. I just finished plugging in my client appointments for next week, and noticed that there will be no down time after this week. So I am going to enjoy my downtime, watch trash TV, read trashy magazines, and relax...:001_tongue:

    Why? ? ?

That really sucks if the posts are getting deleted. I for one is grateful that I 'stumbled' across some info about these two doctors on this forum and on Obesity Help. I was going to go with Dr. Almanza but changed my mind. I think most people have been really objective in giving their thoughts on the good doctor. I was able to confirm it by directly PM-ing his past patients. Most of the responses were positive, but there were a few negative ones. I think you should give people the information to make their own choices. I personally only needed a few Nays to folk out the extra money and go to a different doctor. However, I would respect anyone's decision who would want to go to this Doctor. At the end of the day, it is each person's choice. Don't take away people's freedom of speech, and freedom to choose what their health care options will be.

    Today I bought a size...

I am going to have to start calling you '6' (Did you watch the Devil wears Prada?) Only this time it is an awesome thing. You LOOK AWESOME in the skirt. And I love how the outfit is put together. Go ahead 6!!!!
  9. Thanks for all the pointers. I did start planning some meals but that made me head- hungry. I spent the day making appointments with nutritionist, therapist, dentist, etc for after recovery. I did not mind being kept on hold. Oh- do you guys love your kindles? I am debating between that and the Wii Fit for my birthday. And a pedi is soooo needed. My toes look atrocious!
  10. Hey chicca, I am feeling better every day. I am surprised it is not as bad as I thought it would be. The biggest problem is I get acid and pain in my incision, but the meds have been helpful. I still don't have enough energy to walk around.

Choco-protein sounds good. Maybe I should try that. I am getting a little bit of head hunger. I almost threw up when I had Isopure yesterday, so I am sticking to Unjury and Ramen noodle soup.

I am trying to avoid the scale like a plague. Maybe I will photoshop my head on Kim kardashian's body as motivation. LOL!

  11. Hey marci, Is it getting better. I get acid early in the morning and late in the night, and there is a little of pain in my incision. God bless the heart of the person who created pain meds and acid blocker- I feel so much better after taking those.

I have not been able to walk any further than a block, but I am going to try a little more.

Have you jumped on the scale yet?

    Confession Time

Shanda- i am sooo glad I am not the only one who is so over the wedding thing. The irony is I have not even started planning yet. I am totally in love with my fiance, but totally not into the wedding planning. I would be happy going to the Justice of the peace, but it would break my mother's heart. Oh well... maybe one day I will be into it. Chancie- I too met my Beau online. I had dated someone else for several years, and wanted to 're-learn how to date'. I dated online mostly, and had a really good time. I think your attitude towards it matters quite a bit. I wanted to meet folks, and have a good time. I just happened to meet 'the one' quicker than I expected, and three years later- I still adore him. Judy, judy, judy- I hope I am not overstepping my boundaries here, but I think a heart to heart might be helpful with your man, and maybe with a sex therapist. Or maybe some suggested books that you can read together. Aside from that (and this is where I might really be overstepping), I think every woman deserves a healthy sex-life, and sometimes that just means you have to buy a VIBRATOR!!!! EVERYONE SHOULD OWN ONE. (Yikes, maybe I just got kicked out of the VSG boards!)

    Clear Liquids Only Stage?

I mix Isopure and unjury with everything (apple juice, propel Water, regular water, Jello, ramen noodles broth -not the noodles, just the broth and other broths). And sometimes I have to force feed myself! (actually, my beau is the Water and Protein drill sarg! Checking in every waking moment-- arrrggghhh!) Even then, I am still having a tough time getting in all the liquids I can. I will only do what I can.
  14. Hey ya.... we got our surgery on the same day (and I think we need to lose about the same amount of weight (I have 70 pounds to goal). Let's keep in touch.

    Picture update

You were always gorgeous..... but that second picture... woot woot!!!! And the bright color looks so pretty on you.
  16. Just checking in Marci. How is it going? I got mine done on Friday. Ice chips/ water is not my friend, but I have a new appreciation for room temp crystal light.

  17. Hey everyone, I think this is such a great forum, and I have learned so much about the process, and feel a lot more comfortable about my surgery. One question I did have for most folks is What would you have done differently through the process? From your Pre-Op to whatever stage you are right now? Particularly with exercise, nutrition, etc. One of my concerns is definitely the sagging skin after (even though- don't get me wrong, i will take sagging skin over being 100 pounds overweight ANY DAY!). Are there things you would have done earlier to prevent that? specific exercise, products, moisturizers, skin firming lotions etc?
  18. Ohmy... I just checked out your pictures. You look sooooo awesome. I am going to check in whenever I have a tough time and 'get motivated' by your pics.

  19. I have my appointment with Dr. Alvarez on Friday and I am excited and nervous. I decided to get the sleeve despite being one of the 'lightweights' (I really don't like that word!). I have several motivations- I have struggled with my weight for too long. Have tried every diet in the book. The last straw had to be when I finally lost 12 pounds in 2 years (after working out 6 days a week, writing everything I ate down, keeping under 1400 calories every day and even completing a triathlon), and then put all the weight back on plus 6 more pounds for good measure in less than 7 weeks. In addition, both sides of my family have women who are extremely obese and have a myriad of health problems. None of the women in my dad's side of the family have lived to be over 46 years old. So I am being proactive. I am obviously deathly afraid, and I am a chicken when it comes to pain. The next few weeks/months should be interesting.........
  20. I am having my sleeve done on Friday, and one of the things I am trying to prepare is a list of things that I can do to substitute my 'habit'. Everything that I enjoy doing has always revolved around food. I love to cook, I love to entertain, I love restaurant week, I love watching Top Chef, I love going on food dates with my beau, and with my friends, I love my supper club, I Celebrate by eating, when I am pissed I eat, I love food-related gifts... you get my drift. So since a large part of my social/emotional/bored life is going to be out the door after surgery, I would really like to know what people 'DO' now- socially/emotionally etc Mostly- the good things (I know there are also destructive things that we all do, but that might be a whole different thread)
  21. Wooooo hooooo. Team Marci! Cheering you on babe.
  22. Stacy, Welcome to the boards. I am getting sleeved a few days before you- Jan 15th. We can cheer each other on. I picked up most of the stuff you did, and included some liquid tylenol (yes, I am a sissy-can't handle pain), some gas-x strips and some scar repair stuff (can't remember what its called)
  23. Bailey and Baxter are soooo darn cute! You look awesome by the way.

  24. Down in Socal- could you elaborate more when you say- watched your liquids? Did you not get enough, or was is the calorie content of the liquids? Also, I second the idea of starting a new thread addressing the emotional effects of the surgery. Tifftykins... I am going to load up on the moisturizer and wrinkle cream
  25. 10.5 pounds down Jilly- you are kicking TOOSH!!!!
