You are doing GREAT! Thanks for sharing your stories. I could cry when I read about you feeling some regret earlier. That is where I am and I am so struggling with feelings of cravings. I am so happy to read your blog! And yay to your little one! Little ones are so good for the soul!

No suggestions - I am pretty computer illiterate. But I tried posting my weight loss tracker and it didn't show up for a couple days. This morning it is suddenly there! So strange. Maybe it is on the slow lane in cyberspace....

Congratulations!!!! Let the countdown begin!

Stretching your sleeve
Stacie replied to rcarter76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to let you know that I share your fears completely. Though in dealing with my fears, I am pretty much afraid to eat anything. I am starving and very scared to get to the soft food place where I can eat food that I will eat too much. Thanks for your post. It makes me feel better to hear that I am not alone. Hugs to you! -
Wonderful!! Happy New NEW Year to you!!!!!!!

9 Days Post OP-First Appt with Doc
Stacie replied to kermit_ojp's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for all your info!! Those drinks look like a good idea. But I really struggle with choking that stuff down. I bought the unflavroed protein at GNC. A scoop has 28 g. But it is a big scoop! And I have been adding it to anything I eat. Yesterday I did my first day of full liquids and had 1/4 c greek yogurt, 1/4 blenderized Soup, and 1/4 c sf pudding. And then water throughout the day. I didn't have an actual protein shake :blushing: I might go get some of the EAS 17 g shakes. Do those taste like slimfast? I can drink the consistency of slimfast, but I can't do the chalky flavor. And now with sipping, it is even harder to tolerate. Pre op I would suck it through a straw really fast and chase it with juice! I am hunger though, starving actually. I see or smell food and I want to eat something so bad. I really don't think it is head hunger. My stomach growls and I feel hunger everywhere. This is beyond frustrating and I worry my surgery isn't going to work. But yesterday was the first day I actually ate anything, so maybe it will help. I have not worked out at all yet. Just walking. That feels good but I am very weak. What did you do at the gym? I hope to start a Jazzercise class at the end of January and then walk from home. Ironically, we just cancelled our Y membership last month!? I would really like to lift again soon, hoping that *might* prevent some arm sagging. :laugh0: Take care and hope the gym is good to you today!! -

We should be sleeve buddies! I am just three days behind you and have a similar amount to lose. I had surgery at 2 pm and was up walking by 8 pm. I just tire easily. Do you feel hungry at all? Are you just doing Protein shakes? What kind do you like and what do you mix with? Congratulations on your wonderful start!!! So exciting!! -
Just want to send some good thoughts your way. I was sleeved just 5 days before you, so I can hear what you are saying loud and clear. Postop day 3 was the worst for me, and then it turned around. And that is more liquids than I could get in so Good for you! Can I ask what the bullet Protein is? I am determined to make a chewable protein pill that tastes like flintsones after all the awful protein I am taking in!!! Chin up and safe travels to you!!

I was sleeved on Dec 24. Home on the 25th. Feeling okay. Not quite as well as I thought I would be doing. My surgeon had me on Clear liquids Fri - Sun and to start full liquids Mon. (today) They seems to want me to take in alot of Protein drinks, which make me gag. I tried some strawberry spirutein this afternoon (2 oz) and now I am freaking out about the seeds in it. That it will hurt my incision line. I am so nervous to eat anything, but I cannot believe how hungry I am. What should I be eating? My dietitian says 3 days clear liquid, 2.5 weeks full liquids, then I will meet with her again and move to pureed. Just wondering what your post op diet was? Thank you!

What was your post op diet?

Thanks Linda! May I ask when you started these liquids and how long til you progressed further? Where you ever hungry this early? -
I also have small children, 18 month old = 20 pounds, a 3 year old = 30 pounds, 5 year old = 40 pounds. Prior to surgery I would lift all of them, obviously the 5 year old the least and the 18 month old the most. My doctor said I would have a 10 pound restriction for two weeks and 20 pound restriction for 4 weeks. I still am not sure how I will handle the when my 5 year old is back at school and my husband is at work, but for now (4 days post op) I am just trying to take it easy. To hear Tiffykins say 10 lbs for 6 weeks really freaks me out and I will be talking to my doctor about it more at my next appt. I would difinitely discuss it completely with your doctor before surgery.

I have UHC and I was approved in the beginning of December. I did not need 6 months supervised diet. The only requirement for me was a 5 year weight history. I hope that other insurance companies quickly follow suit.

Newbie here ~ Only 2 days til my sleeve!
Stacie posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
And I am so nervous, and excited, and nervous, and a little more nervous. I am 33 y/o and have three little ones. Which makes the situation more nerve racking for me. I am completey rocking the pre-op diet. Since Thursday morning I have only had Protein shakes, juice, broth, Water and 2 popsicles. Today I start my all Clear liquids, so I will be having juice, Jello, broth, and water. On Saturday we hosted a family Christmas party and I was completely in awe of my willpower to not touch one bite of food. I feel very hungry and could use some more energy (especially with getting all the Christmas stuff together!) but I am managing just fine. I still have so many questions. I really like this forum. I have been lurking on Obesity Help for a couple weeks and it really stressing me out over there. I am glad to have found this place! -
