  1. Hey girl! No worries! It's probably gas. I got my first lapband april 2007. Had it replaced last monday. Same pain both times. I think it's the gas they use during the lapsrasopic procedure trying to get out. Use GAS X and walk That will help. Last time I had to put a heating pad on my shoulder but mine just started up today this time. I was hoping to miss that part. walk, walk, walk It's pretty normal. Good luck to you!

  2. Bless your heart! My husband has Meniere's. I had never heard of it until his diagnosis and now am surprised by how many people have it. He takes a diruetic (sp?) each morning and carries valium with him at all times. If symptoms hit, he is supposed to lie down, look at something not moving and take the valium. ( guess not in that order. :)LOL)

He tries to keep salt intake low in his diet-that's supposed to help also. Good luck to you!!!!

  3. I had my revision surgery last week and I'm doing much better. The first couple of days were really painful but the more you move the better it feels.

I went to the doctor yesterday and I've lost 4 lbs since he took out about 1/2 of my little 1cc fill during surgery. So funny-I quit losing weight when I couldn't keep anything down. Now I can eat again-yea-and the scale is moving down again.

I still have some restriction and have to keep the portions small but everything is much better. Good luck to ya'll.

  4. I went in for an unfill and he couldn't access my port. We looked at it on fluoroscope and it was turned sideways and kept moving. It wasn't painful but he couldn't do fills so we had to fix it. I'm quite sore tonight but I know that will pass. :) Good luck. I have UHC and they've been great!

  5. Hi Tara!

So sorry you get to do the same thing. It was outpatient. I think it only took about 30 minutes. Some people have it done as a local but they put me to sleep. I took hydrocodone after but I'm really sore so they just called me in something stronger. Other than the port site being really sore, I feel fine.

I was too tight when I went in so he took out .4cc from my band. I haven't eaten much since the surgery so I'll have to let you know about the food issue.

    Good luck! Kelly

  6. Had to have my port fixed yesterday. It had flipped and was unattached. He did a small unfill also b/c I had been so tight. Hope this works out well. It really hurts. Know any pain killers better than hydrocodone? It's not touching it.

  7. I was in therapy for about 1 1/2 years before I got my band dealing with family issues and depression. Since the band, I have been having many of the same feelings as you. My therapist reminds me each appt. that it is not a surprise. He warned me that if I had the surgery I would have no choice but to deal with feelings. I have stored anger in my fat cells til this time and self medicated with food and over eating. Now that I can't over eat I have to deal with FEELINGS. It's not easy. Perhaps you can find someone to talk with and work through your feelings. I have no doubt that my weight has been an example of "stuffing my feelings" to this point. Good luck. Be Blessed and hang in there! Kelly

  8. I had my first fill monday and it was horrible. He used fluoro so I don't know why it was so hard for him to find the right place. He gave me lidocaine but it didn't help. I think he was "digging" around for the port. It hurt all afternoon when I came home. I ended up with 1 cc but it's working b/c I can hardly eat anything. I just made vegetable Soup for dinner and managed to not even keep that down. It's really frustrating. Can't say I'm looking forward to another one. So sorry for your experience too! Kelly

  9. It didn't seem to take longer but I'm not exactly sure. He told me about it in the recovery room and said he took care of it. He asked if I had had heartburn and that was a BIG YES!!! None since though. I laid around a few days longer than some people say-lots of popcicles. :) Good luck. Kelly

  10. I had terrible hearburn before my surgery and have not had it since. When I woke up my surgeon told me I had a huge hiatal hernia. I had no idea that I had it. He fixed it while he was in there. I had been really out of breath before the surgery when I would walk or climb stairs. He told me it was pressing on my diaphram and would have caused the heartburn and shortness of breath. I would definitely talk to my doctor if I was having any problems at all. Good luck! Kelly

I had heartburn before my surgery - also had a hiatal hernial (not sure yet if it was repaired...doc said he'd repair it, but i was seen for my first post op visit by another doc and they didn't have the op report yet). Since my surgery 5 weeks ago, I have not had any heartburn, however, recently it's come back. I'm thinking it's because I'm eating spicier foods again. I go for my first possible fill on Monday...I'm going to take my Nexium and lay off the spicy foods and see if that helps...
