  1. I had my sleeve on January 26th and I found out I have gallstones last week and I'm having my gallbladder removed tomorrow. I really wish they would have removed it with my VSG considering I am going to have 4 more cuts on my stomach along with my other 5, plus more time off work..ugh...oh well. So ladies that have already had this done...What is recovery like after this surgery? Can you go back to eating normal afterward?
  2. Ok maybe three messages...lolBut i would definitly would recommend it to anyone and would do it again if I have too. I have so much more energy and just feel better all the way around.

Congrats on your surgery date and I wish u the best of luck!!! I will keep you in my prayers and sendind cyber hugs your way ;) Keep me posted on your Journey!!!

    Best of Luck,

    Rachel Locke

  3. I only had to stay in the hospital one night. I had a little discomfort but nothing major...to be honest i thought the catheter was the most uncomfortable. Dr. Nicholson didn't even feel like I needed to have a leak test done because my surgery went so well so I didn't have to drink the nasty stuff. Also he did a great job on my incisions, they don't look bad at all. The only thing I wish he would have done, was made my pouch smaller. I am not sure what size he does but I feel like I can eat way to much. My weight loss has been very slow and can be very dicouraging. I have only lost 40 pounds in 3 months and 10 of that was pre-op and 15 was the first week afterwards.

  4. I am going to send this in 2 message since it will only allow 1000 words..

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply but i haven't been on in awhile. I log on when i need modivation and right now i am in another stall so i just logged on for the first in a while.

I loved Dr. Nicholson and his staff. I had my surgery at Forest Park medical center because i was a cash patiant. It's a brand new and a very nice hospital. If your having any complication and need to go to the hospital after surgery you never have to wait there like you would at any other ER rooms (you can even go there if you didnt have your surgery there; they also know Dr. Nicholson very well there). I have only had to return because i was having bad shooting pains in my main incision...and it came out only to be a pulled muscle in my main incision. So listen to the doc and don't over do it or lift anything over 10 pounds.

  5. I honestly think this tools is not going to work for me. I am 4 weeks out today and have only lost 15 pounds and that was all in the first week. I haven't lost a single pound in 3 weeks. I also feel hungry all the time. This is sooooo discouraging!!! My doc has givin me the go ahead to pretty much eat anything since I wasn't able to get any Protein down because they all are so horrible tasting. He said I had to get protein some way since my blood presure was dropping and I had an irregural heartbeat at my one week appt. What is everyone eating at 4 weeks out? Maybe I am eating to many carbs or cals? What is the right amount of carbs and cals that I should be having? :crying:

    So Discouraged....

Well thanks ladies for all of the advice. I guess I will try lowering my carbs and uping my Protein and see if that will help. You would just think by cutting my whole food intake and cutting sodas alone would make me lose weight.

    So Discouraged....

I got a gym membership and was just walking on the treadmill and doing the bike. But I went to the ER on Sunday because I had such sharp pains in my left side and they told me I pulled some muscles around my main incision. It hurts to bend over or walk sometimes. So needless to say no working out for a while?

    Dr. Nick Nicholson Patients

I was sleeved by Dr. Nick on January 26th. I am not sure of his stats. I was refered to him from a co-worker that loved him. I really enjoyed him and his staff as well. Sorry i can't help you out...call his office and ask them what his stats are. The only Protein shake that I have been able to drink is the Muscle Milk Light. All the other Protein shakes have a horrible smell and taste.
  9. Well my surgery was Tueday and my dr. said everything went well. I am now home and in sooooo much pain. Please tell me when the pain will pass. It's so hard getting up and down. I am regreting this now...ugh I just want the pain and soreness to go away!!!:crying:

    Scars?

I am having my sleeve done on Tuesday and getting very scared. I have all these questions running though my head non stop. Anyway just curious how everyone's scars are after surgery? Are they very noticable or are they so small they fade away?

    Docs in Dallas Area?

I am scheduled to with Dr. Nick January 26th. He was GREAT at his seminar.
  13. Well today is the 4th day for my pre-op diet and it pretty much sucks. The second day was the hardest but it seems to be getting easier each day. I have cheated a couple of time (nothing big) but as of this morning I had lost 5lbs....GO ME...WOOHOO!!! Man just losing 5lbs makes me happy, I can only imagine what a 100 will fell like. :thumbup1: I tried to stop smoking at the same time as I started the pre-op diet but it's just to hard to do both at the same time. I have cut back to only a couple a day. Since I haven't even met with my doc yet he hasn't told me to stop smoking. Does anyone know the rules of smoking before surgery?

Hey everyone, first off I have to say I love this site! I have been reading the posts non-stop for about 3 weeks. It?s amazing how much I have learned from this site. Well I am scheduled to have the VSG on January 26th with Dr. Nicholson in Dallas. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow and not looking forward to that. I am VERY excited not to be fat anymore but EXTREMELY scared. I just hope that I am making the right decision and don?t regret doing this. It just worries me because I am a very picky eater and pretty much have always just eaten meat and potatoes. I am excited to have found this site and can?t wait to keep everyone updated on my journey. I am ready to begin this new chapter of my life. Rachel

What is weird I haven't even seen Dr. Nicholson yet one on one and I already have my surgery date scheduled. I don't have pre-op appointment until the 21st and the surgery on the 26th. But I did attend his seminar. I think if your a cash patient then you can get in pretty quik. His office emailed me the pre-op diet and said to start tomorrow. My biggest fear is that I will do this pre-op diet and then he won't be able to do the surgery on the 26th but his office said there shouldn't be any problems. So we will see.
