4 mts post op 10 weeks pregnant!
amerigirl replied to dange25's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I had two babies at over 300 pounds. I had beautiful healthy babies. The only thing that was hard for me was that I wanted to loose weight before the second and he was a suprise when I was working out and dieting. (which wasn't working anyway). I didn't have any issue with Diabetes or anything. My blood pressure was never high and I carried to full term. My first baby that is now 21 months was 8lbs 12oz and my second one that came just two months ago was 9lbs 11oz. Big babies run in my family. My sis is small and both her babies were over 8lbs. Anyway...my issues were phyisical it was really hard on my knees carrying around that much fluid and weight. I couldn't play with my little one while pregnant and I still find it difficult. I have major lower back issues and my boobs got even bigger with the second one. So I guess what I am saying is if I could have been thinner before getting pregnant with the second one I would do it. Now I am having the surgery in Jan. and I just had the Mirena inserted so I don't have to worry about another pregnancy accident. But I think that I want to try for another one in about 5 years. I hope that helped. I know we forget what it was like when we were pregnant before. Just coming off the whole experience..even if you have a healthy pregnancy it's no fun when your overweight. -
I'm here in Corpus Christi, TX. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 21st. I went with Dr. Zapata because of the location and I've only found good things about him. His patient coordinator have been wonderful and have answered many questions. SHONTEL: How has your recovery been? Any issues? I'm trying to get ready for my surgery date any suggestions on what to take?

Tiffykinsn, if you don't mind me asking what kind of complications did you have?

Hi, my name is Gwyn, I'm 35, married with two kids. I'm new here. My surgery is scheduled for the 21st of Jan with Dr. Zapata in MTY, MX. I am so looking foward to it. Like it's a new beginning. I just had my second baby in late October. Back in 2000 I had Galbladder surgery and weighed 290lbs. After my surgery I decided to get healthy. Through diet and exercise I got down to 220. Never could get lower. After meeting my husband and two kids later I gained it all back and then some. I'm now 335. It has gotten so much harder to loose the weight. Last year after my first baby I was exercising like crazy and starving with WW. The pounds were not coming off. I just gave up! It just seemed impossible. Since having my second baby and being completely misserable in my own skin I decided to have surgery. I was going to do the Lapband. I did a lot of research and set a date. I talk to some one in a forum about the fills and costs after surgery and she said she was going to have a revision to the sleeve. I had never heard of it then. So I did some research and I'm glad I did. I'm looking forward to having portion control. That was the most enticing thing about this whole surgery. Can't wait to start seeing the pounds come off.

Almost a month away from surgery

Katrina, Wow, I can't believe you have already lost 43 lbs and you haven't had surgery yet. How are you doing it? I tried the Atkins diet just before Thanksgiving and could only do 12 days. I think its the lack of sleep. I find myself being hungry late at night. My sleep pattern is all messed up. I would like to loose some before the surgery though. Would love to know what you are doing. I am so glad I found a group of women that will know what I am going through and I can share this with. My family is extremely supportive. My sister is paying for my surgery. She has seen me struggle my whole life. My husband is excited one day and the next day he tells me he's going to miss butt. I won't miss it. I'm tired of it being in the way. Midwestgirl......where are you getting your surgery and I would love to go on this journey with you! Thanks for the support. Amerigirl -
I am having my sleeve done on Jan. 21st. I want to start jogging. How long do you have to wait after the surgery before you can run? I know you can walk right away but how about jogging? Thanks :biggrin0::biggrin0:

Hair Loss post-op
amerigirl replied to learned2bskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has any one tried prenatal vitamins? Thay have really good ones at the vitamin store. Just as good as prescription. I don't know if it would help with the hair loss though.
