Will craving junk food stop with sleeve?

I am definately a snack food person. The cheez-its did me in for a month or so, finally got over those, now I'm on to popcorn. I have not been able to hold down any actual chips, even in small doses--I'm not sure why, but they just feel like they glob up in my stomach and stick there. Swiss Miss rolls are another story, those stay down lovely--therefore I avoid purchasing them any longer. Cravings will not go away long term. 9 months out and I would rather down my aunts homemade cake before I have that grilled chicken skewer, lol. Discipline & will power is the key--and with this sleeve it is MUCH MUCH easier to keep the weight off. I find it helps loose a certain amount, but you have to work at the rest--but at least it has taken away the gaining factor that always happened before!

few questions from a new sleever...

Day 4 will start to look up...the first few days I measured 1 oz drinks, and took them every 5-10 minutes. I would wake up in the middle of the night and sit for an hour sipping...everyone is different, but just keep some liquids going.

Will I ever eat a reular meal again?

My energy does plummet, depending on if I'm having good food days or bad food days. Bad is when I missed some Protein...so I've started some B-12 Shots, twice a week. Just passed the 6 month mark and this is what I eat...up until Supper time, but days are almost ALWAYS the same, it is easier at work to plan them. Breakfast: 3/4 cup high protein kashi crunch, with 1/2 cup skim milk Snack: 1 small banana Snack: 1 cheese stick Lunch: 5 oz tyson oven roasted dice chicken breast Snack: another cheese stick--only way I'm able to curve my love of cheese! Snack: mini popcorn bag Supper: 5-6 oz of whatever is for supper (casserole, fish, etc) Snack: mini choc bar (here lately anyway) I only drink Water these days, but I get in 48-60 oz regularly...sometimes I drink about 3-4 oz of Dr. Pepper and I get really excited, lol. I had a family reunion this past weekend and the line was soooo long that I just ate off my families plates. They are use to it by now...bite of this, bite of that...I was happy. I still have 100 lbs or more to lose, but I'm not nearly has depressed about missing food as I was before...it does get better! Hope this helps and good luck!

What are you looking forward to?

I want to buy concert, sports or amusement ride tickets and not have to research rather the seating will hold me or not! I don't have to be skinny, I don't have to have the right BMI, I just want to be comfortable LIVING.
  5. I use to wrap the ponytail around 3 times...now it wraps 5 times easily...alot is gone! I will try the castor oil ASAP.
  6. the only way I get in my protein is to graze !

    are we there yet

I would like to reached my goal in 1 year...but i'm gonna have to step it up! I've lost 90 lbs in about 6 months...my goal weight is 175...anything under 200 would be great by christmas! I have NOT exercised at all until this week, my blood pressure drops like crazy and I get all dizzy, so I started taking B12 shots...I started water exercises--and they seem to be working, I'm all sore for the 2nd day in a row. Just realized today that I can actually do my Wii fit now, I never did it before because of the weight limit...guess that excuse is over and I'll have to give it a try! lol.

    somebody tell me the truth!!!!

I had my surgery on Thursday morning, was at work full time Monday morning...I did not take any pain meds after I left the hospital so I could drive. My doctor told me I could do what I felt up to doing...so I did. Good Luck!

    Was your gall bladder removed?

They removed mine with my 1st wls, supposedly a higher # of people have issues with rapid weight loss if they still have the gallbladder.

    Eat your bread!!!!!

my problem with bread isn't the carbs...it is making it stay down ...regular chips, tortillas, and ANY kind of traditional bread will go down...but STAYING down is another issue.

    Small sins

Goodlife--SOMEONE that likes Crawfish-finally! I am much farther along and I can eat almost 2 lbs of them...they are LOVELY, and so LOW in fat etc. Sorry Immore, for some reason I thought you were 11 days out--I think that was the previous post I had read. At 6 weeks my doc told me to eat it all--I was adament I could NOT eat anything but soft stuff, he literally had to make me eat soft fish, told my husband to go directly to Luby's and purchase me a dinner. After I got over my fear that my sleeve would somehow unravel I have been able to eat all my protein--not drink it!

11 days out - stomach doesn't feel restricted

Sometimes you just have to bunkle down and make the RIGHT choice. None of these surgeries are a quick fix, you have to make some choices. EVERY WLS it is possible to sabbatoge--STOP IT. Let the tool work, cravings happen to all of us, and you are strong enough to overcome them! I had a nonadjustable band, lost 200 lbs, it messed up, had to remove it--gained 200 lbs. Now I'm working with my sleeve to loose the 200 yet again...my mother had the adjustable sleeve and has gained 100 lbs in the last 5 years---it come down to choices and your willingness to deny yourself. Mother can eat an entire baG of doritos around her sleeve, I can put away ALOT cheez-its if I ALLOW myself too...(chips hurt me) but cheez-its are LOVELY...so what do I do now? limit myself to 100 calorie packs of cheez -its ONCE A WEEK! WAGE WAR ON THOSE DORITOS--and definately stick with softer foods a little longer!

    Small sins

Immore...11 days out (or sooner) I started licking the flavor off doritos, lol...it was HARD to not chomp down on a few, but I thought I was gonna croak on fluids. You will eventually be able to eat anything, but for a few more weeks you will need to think ahead and bring a softer snack with you...and eventually you can eat all those pork rinds you want--they are pretty low in fat and even have some protein! I still have weird days that at 10:15 I'm still full from Breakfast and at 10:30 I am starving to death and must have food immediately, rather it is a good choice or a bad one! As far the drama on this post? It was fun to read! Especially since I don't 'have a dog in this fight'!

How much food can you really eat?

I am a little over 5 months post op. Last few weeks this is what I've eaten: 1/2 cup kashi high Protein Cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk small banana 2% cheese stick 1/2 -1 cup of food for lunch (1 taco) (1 fillet of fish) (1 grilled chicken breast) cottage cheese duo with peaches 2% cheese stick (i'm stuck on these right now) 1/2- 1 cup of food for supper (chili) (boiled shrimp) BOILED CRAWFISH! Fudge scicle or other low fat treat I stay under 800 calories and around 50-70 Proteins a day...and RARELY feel hungry...I have habits that are still hard to break/control, but a true feeling of hunger is only when I forget to eat.
