I'm relieved to be sleeved
MidwestGirl replied to slebme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to the losers' bench! I recently bought Unjury's strawberry sorbet protein & the unflavored kind too. I was doing the brand Tiffy suggested, but I got burnt out on milk & the flavor I liked tasted icky with water. So I looked for something I could mix with water & my dietitian recommended the Unjury & gave me some samples. I mix the strawberry or unflavored with crystal light. It's pretty yum to me. But it is more expensive than some of the other proteins, which I would say is the only downfall I've found with it. Good luck on your protein search and keep up the great work! :blushing: -
My dietitian said after 6 weeks. Now I have a 1/2 serving of roasted, salted almonds everyday for Breakfast (14 almonds), usually with some mandarin orange slices.

Whoo! You go, girl! Glad to hear things went well! I skipped the baby food when I was on mushies...blech Lol!

Hi goodlife! I'm 5'6. And thank you very much!!! :crying: -
Thank you for posting this, Tiffy. I sent it to my best friend who is currently in one of those relationships where she knows it's unhealthy for her but feels like it's her duty to help him with his anger and addiction problems. Thank you. I can't really relate because I've been lucky enough to find a great man who loved me when I was a big girl and will still love me when I'm thin! And looking ladies, I wish you all the best of luck in finding what you want! :biggrin2:

Thank you all for all of your support! I'm so glad I found this forum! :biggrin2: Man I'm getting tired of buying new clothes! Hehehe. Gone from a size 24 jeans to baggy size 18s, and I LIKE these jeans, lol! And a size XXL t-shirt to a size L t-shirt. And I don't even want to talk about bras! :001_huh: Running out of clothes that I already had so it's about time to go back to the store! -
Just a little advice.
MidwestGirl replied to excited2lose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a little over 3 months out, and have been taking my antacid (prescription) about a month and a half now. I forgot to take it yesterday, and woke up choking on stomach acid again. At my 3-month appt. last week, my surgeon told me to wean off the antacid and definitely not take it more than three months.:sad0: What are you taking, excited2lose? I was just wondering if you're on prescription antacid or over the counter. I know I can only do another month and a half of my prescription antacid, so I'm going to have to find an over-the-counter product eventually. -
That link was really interesting! Some of the statistics surprised me. I guess I thought more Americans would identify with non-belief, but I guess not!
-
Good to have you! I think you explained your belief/non-belief very nicely.

pcp loves the idea of mexico
MidwestGirl replied to stcyt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stacey, that's great news! I'm so happy for you! :wink0: Coming from someone whose pcp wasn't supportive of wls at all, I can imagine how much better you must feel now! -
Herbal, fruit (both naturally caffeine-free), and decaf teas are okay. I had the same problem with water at the beginning, but around a month or a little over post-op, I kind of weaned myself off the crystal light and started drinking plain water again. Some day my sleeve still doesn't want plain water, but it's okay most days now for me. Just keep trying it, it gets better! :biggrin0:

I agree with this.

I thought I was the only "nonbeliever" here! Guess we're two in a million? Two in two million? :lol0:

Okay so quite a few people around here cannot stand protein shakes. I don't blame you! Mine's starting to get realllllll old. Anyway, I was reading a blog today (Melting Mama, a RNY patient) and she had this review. Capella Flavor Drops - Zero Sugars - Pure Flavor. - melting mama I Product enabler. It's basically sweetener-free super concentrated flavorings. There's everything from cinnamon danish swirl to buttered popcorn, graham cracker, and apple pie. She says she would use them in anything, but most of all suggests protein shakes. Her suggestion is to get basic flavored protein powder (chocolate, vanilla, unflavored) and add whatever flavor you want. I haven't tried this, but it's worth a shot! And had I not just ordered another 5lb. tub of MY protein powder (since mine has a three-word-long flavor name of its own) of choice, I'd be giving this some serious thought! Worth a try if you're struggling to choke down your shakes!

Another lame attempt to get a picture of me down 70lbs, with a huge amount of hair loss!

Thank you for posting this! I've been a little lax lately on my protein shakes...this is the motivation I needed to get back on track.

Soo I started my Vlog!
MidwestGirl replied to TiffanyIsMajor's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I like that idea! I only have 2 so far, both wrists & one on my upper back, but I want more! I just can't decide what. I'm sure you know the feeling - once you get that first one you just want more! :001_unsure: Maybe I'll think up something to get when I reach goal. Keep up the vlogging, lady! It's cool to see people I "know."
