  1. Just say yes. :crying: I looked it up and my fave restaurant has 1 cup of wonton Soup listed as 14 carbs, 7 fat, 14 Protein. With the wonton in it, would that be soft food or mushie? I am planning my diet for next week. :biggrin0:

    A few questions/comments

I don't think I went to the bathroom until about day 7 or 8. Even then, it wasn't much. (Sorry TMI) Not sure on labs. At first, I could hardly take any Water also. It gets better. I was sleeved 1/25 and I am having no issues even gulping water now. Take as much as you can in a day, but also know it does get better!

    Stalls

I lost 30 lbs quickly and then I have been stalled for a week. (I had surgery on 1/25) Today I am moving again. One more pound down. I just have to stick with it.

    mushies start when

I am having this issue also. Everything seems alike at this stage. I am calling my Nut tomorrow for help.

    Too much weight loss??

I am 30 lbs down-2.5 weeks out and my surgeon seems pretty happy about it, so I am going to go with that. My skin does feel flabby already, but I think that probably would have happened either way.

    Vacation after surgery???

I am 2.5 weeks out and I just booked a Disney trip for......the 21st of this month. :001_tongue: I feel fine. Food intake is really hard for me, but as for feeling fine-I could do most of the things you want to do in moderation already!
  7. Look how tiny you are! You are beautiful, DeeDee!

    Home from Mexicali

I am still cold! (sleeved on 1/25/10) I am usually HOT all the time, but since I was sleeved it seems it is tough to warm up! Glad to see you on this side!

    Is Reglan bad?

I had an awful reaction from it. I was extremely jumpy (wanted to run out of the room), facial twitches, etc. I put it on my "allergic to" list because there is no way I ever want that in my body ever again.
  10. This is how I feel most days. I am having a good day today, but most days I have those stomach cramps. :biggrin2:
  11. While I have had great success post op, I am kind of in a slump. It is so cold outside (I am from down south, but live in Ohio now) and we are supposed to only get more snow in the near future. I haven't started walking like I said I was going to do because again, it has just been so so cold. So I booked a trip to Disney tonight. :001_tongue: We leave in less than 2 weeks. I just needed a little sunshine and positive feelings about the future. I know I made the right decision and some days I feel fantastic. Other days-well, to be honest-most days, I just don't. I am not eating enough. I am not getting enough Protein. I have diarrhea and stomach cramping every.single.day. I am really working on it though. I want things to get better-I need things to get better. I am hoping this trip will help me move to the other side of recovery. I know it sounds crazy-feel like crap? Take a big trip. But Disney *is* the happiest place on earth, right? :001_wub:
  12. I seem to have hit a stall also. I just keep working on getting my protein and calories in. I will be cleared for exercise next week, so I am going to start with that. I just have to keep on keeping on! It is tough though, I do admit! Good luck to you!
  13. I wish I knew the "final verdict" on these shots. I could really use them right now. I am not getting enough protein in at all. (2 weeks out as of today)

    Ricotta Bake

Oh! And is this a soft food or mushy food? (I honestly don't know the difference, but next week I can have mushies.) Please tell me mushy.

    Ricotta Bake

When I was on my pre op diet, I liked it room temperature. In the mornings and evenings, it has to be really cold. During the middle of the day it seems that room temperature goes down easier? Anyone else have an experience like this? When I get cold water though I want to down it. It is just so thirst quenching. I have to remind myself to sip, sip, sip.

    Someone please help

Is there drainage? I did have some pain near my incisions and I still have a pulling feeling near my side ones. Do you have a fever? Is the area hot where it hurts? I would call your doctor in the morning.

To Mexico or not To Mexico....

I am two weeks out as of tomorrow and I can't tell you how happy I am to have follow up so close to home. I have used my doctor's personal phone number twice now. I have been in, talked with the nurses, had an exam. I just feel good having that available right her. The NUT, psych, doctor and nurses are all there for me 24/7. Also, I have a workout program that is paid for for 6 months post op. You really can't beat that. I can't say I am a fan of surgery in Mexico-I am sorry!

    I'm gagging over here!

So you are 10 days out and on mushies? Lucky girl! My doctor won't let me until 3 weeks out. I already had some really thin mashed potatoes though.
  19. excited2lose

    Almost 2 weeks out...

and down 30 lbs. I can't believe it. Some days are hard, others are easier. Today was an easier day. Still I know I made a great decision. 30 lbs? Really! 30 lbs! :001_tt2:

    6 Month Surgiversary!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience, DeeDee. You are truly an inspiration. I am having a tough time getting that protein in also!

    I'm gagging over here!

I SO can taste the beneprotein. LOL. The smell is what gets me I think!

    I'm gagging over here!

Well, I am just going to admit it. I am weak and not getting enough food. Today I made really smooth mashed potatoes. They were thin and I ate 5 bites. Probably more of a mushy food, but I feel fine. I am on full liquids for 3 weeks and I am 2 weeks into that.
  23. Night time seems to be my toughest time. I feel uncomfortable a lot. Last night wasn't too bad. So I get my medicine ready to take (antiacid, low dose antibiotic (skin reasons), Biotin and it seems like something else? I can't remember at the moment). I do this every night with no issues at all so far. (I am one week and 3 days out) I take them-I feel fine. Then all of a sudden I am extremely uncomfortable. Warm saliva, nausea. I vomit. It doesn't seem like much of the medicine itself came up. The green coating on the antacid came up, along with a bunch of saliva. So yeah, that sucked. But the worst part was the uncomfortable feeling-the pain in my stomach. My throat was BURNING. I kept trying to swish with Water to get that taste out of my mouth, but it didn't help. This morning my throat is really sore. I am drinking cold water because that sounded good. Every once in a while I will get a bad pain in my stomach area. It goes away, but then comes back here and there. Is this normal?

    I'm gagging over here!

I was on full liquids the day I was released from the hospital. Every doctor does things different I guess.

    Interesting situation last night

How do you know that I am killing my stomach? Is there any evidence to support that? I am just wondering why so many people can take pills without incident. If a bunch of people were having problems, I would understand. I just really want to learn more so that I can prevent any major issues.
