Katrina, you're doing real well with the weight loss. Better than most. I don't understand what your concern is. You will not have the kind of weight loss that happens right after surgery. Everyone slows down after that initial wave, and then we have to deal with stalls. It's on everyone's road to success. Try not to worry. Thanks for popping into my topic. But I was wondering what you ment by the fact I wont have the kind of weight loss that happens right after surgery. I am a month out and 15/17 pounds is my great loss of the post surgery wave.
I dont mind the ups and downs, I am at least not gaining and I love that. But I thought I would have seen a little more drop in weight.
I know dont compair, but people who had surgery right near mind and some same day. Have lost up to 30 pounds. I figured I was doing something wrong.
I love the idea its a marathon not a sprint, but really if it slows down after awhile what the heck am I gonna do?:scared0::001_huh:

My days round out about
700-750 calories
About 55-57 carbs good carbs (the heavy hit is from my oatmeal in the morning)
29 grams of Fat
and 68-70 grams of protein
I am getting my walking starting today about 2 miles I really hope that it helps.
I had my blood drawn about 2.5 weeks ago and everything was ideal. I am seeing my bariatrician (I think thats how its spelt) a nurtionist specializing in WLS, on May 27th.

I seem to have started with a steady rate. LOL slow.
No the allergy does not bother me. As I am no longer on the supplements for Protein.

TIFF save me!!!
I was sleeved April 16th 2010. My surgery went wonderful. And since then I have LOST about 15 pounds give or take a pound or two.
I get my Dr. required amount of Protein, I get my Water, I slack on my vits (trying hard though), I'm at a loss.
Background on me.
It turns out after surgery I am allergic to not that I just dont like them. But I am allergic to un-natural protein, powders, shots, drinks, you name it I cant take it.
So my diet had to be slightly altered. I follow all guides my dr could ork with me for. He had never seen something so odd before and hes been doing this for years.
Anywho, I first was thinking, my body was in shock:scared0:. And then after two weeks of that, I thought,
Maybe just maybe it was cause I had lost 55 pounds before my surgery, and I was in body freak out mode.
Ok so now whats the deal??
I eat something little every 2 hours, I drink all the time except right after a meal. Any idea's?

I am also a member of both boards. I check OH daily and when I remember I bounce over here. I happen to prefer OH a tad more, oddly enough they seem so much more open.
But I have found that the people I want to mainly hear about post at both boards so I dont miss much.
I pop in here from time to time, there is good and bad about each site. DRAMA Galore everywhere.
Best wishes dear...

I was refered into Options May 11th of 2009

I finished Options Classes Dec 17th 2009
I meet my Dr. January 7th 2010 My surgery is April 16th 2010 Cause the hospital I picked became over booked with 7 options classes finishing before the end of the year.

It is honestly not that new of a surgery. For WL yes but for in general not all that new. Now as a stand alone surgery many people are seeing better results from the sleeve then they would from the band. Nearing the exact same as the RnY, and if time keeps with the pace might even become the new 'gold' standard.
So ask your questions and post your fears, what is freaking you out about it?

ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to VST, I am pre-op so I dont have a story to read or share with you just yet.
But best of luck on your journey.

I think we all can relate to that issue. I am still pre-op and already did my consulation on January 7th my dr/hospital is backed up to April, so guess how I am feeling.

1 I want to play with my son more.
2 I want to walk around my work without feeling dead.
3 I nice pencil cut skirt and a line blouse.
-
I am pre-op but I can share my information. I told anyone and everyone. Especially the people I live with. My mother was not at all pleased to hear this when I informed her but the best thing I have ever told her was this.
" I am doing this I am not asking for your approval or to be ok with it. I am asking for your support and if you cant offer that, I dont want to hear anything else on the matter." She was very understanding of the tone I had taken with her and the amount of fear it caused me to speak to my mother in such a fashion. (keeping in mind I am 30 years old and still would not order my mom around. Like I did. I later told my son nobody talks to Grandma like that.)
Everyone else amazingly is very supportive of my choice and getting very excited as its getting closer.
My mom also read every paper I was given on it and things I have found online and she is very supportive now.

My insurance informed out class ( I have Kaiser) we or rather they had to be smoke free for at least 6-9 weeks.

Nothing I can think of local in most places as far as unflavord. Online I have heard a great many people saying powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury its good but the smell is a little off in the container but ok when mixed.
just my 2cents worth I am pre-op

I did, and I loved it. I knew then I was beautiful. I was so in shock I pulled out my camera and snapped a picture of it. I was amazed. I dont see it every day so when I do I am shocked and happy all over again.
