Excess Skin after weight loss with VSG
Katrina replied to jenn20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say toning you will still lose the 10% its a ideal % to loss they wont stop you if you dont drop that much. Plus once you get going you will be just fine. Trust me. -
You will learn that your insurance will cover a removal of extra skin (NOT A TUMMY TUCK) so keep that in mind for now. Later on after you reach goal and keep there for at least a year then worry about it.

Protein for the rest of your life?
Katrina replied to jenn20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its good your doing more and more reasearch on your own. But you will learn a lot of this in your classes. Once your far enough to get enough Protein from your food intake then you dont need the supplements any more. But as said before vitamines are for life (as they are with or without WLS). Counting calories also a good thing until you are ready to maintain. -
Recommendations for last day of gluttony
Katrina replied to Bambi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally I would see it as falling right back where you dont want to go. Keep with the good work, fight your way past it, you will feel better for it and you know it. But if you have too, whats your all time fav food. Eat that. -
What did you ask your doctor...
Katrina replied to MINI-Me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had mine January 7th I asked what his leak percents were, then the hospital in general. What his knowledge of the death rate for his hospital was and him as well. I asked if there was going to be a drain tube, if so how long (length) and then how long would it be in. I asked how long he personally had been doing VSG (as he also does RnY). -

After doing many classes with my Kaiser Options program, graduation and lossing 48.2 pounds. I get to go to my consultation on Thursday January 7th. Seeing how its not my surgery date the hubby is not going to take any time off. I will be off on my own which is no big. I did the consulations for my last two surgeries on my own. I have all of the questions I feel I need an answer to ready to throw at him, or well at least ask him either way. :biggrin0::thumbup:

Really stressing about the hair loss aspect of this...
Katrina replied to twobluecats's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I swear if all my hair would fall out I would jump up and down with delight. I have THICK THICK THICK hair (that currently falls out for the fun of it) Since I am pre-op I am so looking forwards to some of this head weight comming off of me. I know odd, and watch in 5 months I will be back here crying my eyes out cause my hair is falling out LOL... I bet you all! -
Drinking and Eating at the SAME time?
Katrina replied to rcarter76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am pre-op and this was the hardest thing for me to learn. It got down to the point of while setting my table I just didnt put a glass out for myself. And if someone else set the table thankfully my hubby snatches it and puts it away for me. But as said before its so you can get all the good stuff from your food and not just wash it away with the Water or what ever it is you drink. -

Katrina replied to Stacie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best of luck from one pre-op to another. -
I am still pre-op but I have finished my Kaiser Options Classes. As of 12/17/2009 I have lost 44.6 pounds with my classes, and I still waiting on my date. I would like to still drop 23.4 pounds before surgery its my personal goal to be only 100 pounds away from my final goal before surgery. If I make it I will be thrilled, if I dont well I tried darn hard!!! LOL I am hoping for a surgery soon, but I figure I have waited this long whats a few more months right? (HA!)
-
Thank you so much Tracy. I have never worked so hard for something in my whole life. (except maybe the birth of my son) I am keeping an open mind about doing this, and I cant wait. Then I get two birthday parties. My old one and my new one!!!
