  1. It takes me for ever to get going on this site, I think i'm just tech. chanllenged. But here goes. I'm at 71kg now, down from 97kg. It is fantastic. I feel great and healthy. Just the hairloss bothering me a bit. It is now 5 months post op. Go Loosers!!!!

  2. I'm am 1 month post op and have lost 10kg, about 22lbs. It's less than many but I was 97kg (213lb) to start with, but i'm pleased with it and getting smaller every day and loving fitting into clothes I haven't worn of years. It really feels great!

    i am so thursty!

I was also very thirsty but they kept my IV in for 2 days so whenever I was thirsty they just pumped up the liquids. I'm pleased they did it that way because I could drink very little the first couple of days. 120ml at most which is nothing really. Now I can drink biggish sips whenever I feel like it, not too fast, but much more. Hang in there and like they all say small sips all the time. Are they giving you nausia meds because they should for the first couple of days at least.
  4. I really feel for you! Sorry to hear about your infection. I had an infection in my c-section after my son was born. Same thing had to drain it every day for 2 weeks and antibiotics by it healed and I'm fine. It has left more scaring than on the other side. It seems dented in a bit. Hope your scars don't look to bad after this. But all things pass, just hang in there and stick to orders. Best of luck!

    eating has become a problem

no way!!! no mash and gravy. I'm going to sa in 2 weeks haven't been there for 2 years and was looking forward to the mash because I'm also only 1 mnth out and thought it would be good to eat. I will have a try anyway because everyone is different. Hope it is ok. ha ha ......the things we look forward to!

    Did you tell?

I chose not to tell anyone because I needed time to rest after the op and didn't want loads of guest dropping by, all amazed, wondering how I doin. I also didn't want to have to explain myself to everyone. I don't like repeating the same story over and over, I know too many people, it would take up a lot of my time. You can't not tell one you have started ha ha. Now word has got out and they have all told whoever they wanted to and very few will honestly tell you what they think of your choise. Some are happy for me others look at me and I can see them thinking, what have you done! It is strange really. Now that the weight is coming off they are starting to comment on it and it feels good to know that it is noticalbe already.

    Hair Loss post-op

I'm dreading the hairloss. I'll start taking the fish oil, don't mind it too much. Might help when I get to 3mths post op, I now only I month post op. Let's see if I can prevent it by drinking the fish oils. It will be good to know.
  9. I felt the same until the first week out. I was very hungery just after I came out of hospital and drank loads of broth I couldn''t get enough, I was also worried about "eating so much" but I must say that the second week it was much better and I didn't feel hungery all the time. Third week I was eating more or less meal times and it is only a very little at a time. The broth I could have more of because it is a liquid, but since I started soups and baby food fruit it is realy very little at a time and keeps me full for hours. Now I've started the protain and I have no idea how im going to get all that down. A new challenge! good luck
  10. wow!! Well done! I'm 1 month out and have only lost 20 lbs, but I'm not complaining it is still 20lb less than I've been in a very long time. Keep up the good work.
  11. I had my op 1 month ago and I wasn't strong for 2 weeks, and yes, I slept a lot. If I were you I'd leave myself enough time to recover and get used to the new way of things. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

    Is this hunger pangs?

Hi there. I also felt I needed to eat something every couple of hours but it is getting better now. I think from when I started my 3rd week I need something less often. It is nice not thinking of food alllll the time. ha ha. I now have day when I want to eat everything in sight but they are few and getting fewer. I started gym yesterday and I felt that way but I think it was because of the exercise. good luck

Congrats!!! Hope all goes well. I was very sore the first night and the next morning but it was because of the gas they "pump" you up with. They gave me something for that and then I felt much better. I'm 3 weeks post op and feeling great. started gym this week. Hope you will also be back to nomal soon.

    2 weeks post op

wow! You are almost there! Only 18 pounds left. How do you feel about it?
  18. I am 2 weeks post op and this is the first contact with other sleevers. I'm the only one I know who has had the op and I just would like to hear some other voices. I was told 2 weeks clear liquids and I've found it hard but stuck to it. I have been craving normal food even though I know I can't eat it. I tend to suck the juice of steak and other foods and that helps a bit. Do other people also suck on food, it sound so crazy ha-ah:blush:. Today I had some homemade creamy tomato soup that was ok, my first non clear liquid meal. My tummy feels weird when I eat and I find myself wondering if I'll ever be able to eat like a normal person again. It isn't painful or anything, just not normal. Are there any other post op vsg's expeiency the same as me? I'd like to hear from you.:sad0:

    2 weeks post op

It is cold here too! We had some rain over the weekend, lovely. First time in 2 years, but I think that is it for now although I'd like to see some more. My hubby works for a bank. We've been hear 13 years! It's a great place to raise kiddies. All my shoes don't fit anymore ha ha. My clothes are also looser and everyone is starting to notice the weightloss, it is nice. I hope to fit comfy in the plain seat when we go on holls in Dec. That will also be a first for a while.

    2 weeks post op

Hi Carolyn. I have looked on the site at how to use it but I've never been on a forum before and I don't know how to use it. I feel realy stupid ha ha. Can you help me? I want to put my weightloss trekker and look as if I'm more interested in everyone. Your reply is the only one I saw the option to reply on, not the others. Why is that and sorry it seem like i'm your pupil now. thanx

    2 weeks post op

Thank you all very much for replying!!! It is so wonderful to hear all the encouraging advice from others who have gone through the same recovering process. It is great just having the confirmation that everything is going to be ok and that all will return to normal soon enough. This is a wonderful site and I?m so pleased I?ve joined. Now I?m not alone anymore. Thank you for being there.
