  1. So, lately I have been experiencing some major head hunger and cravings. I keep thinking about the foods that I won't be able to enjoy and eat like I used to. I am craving soda really bad too. Does anyone else deal with cravings/head hunger?? If so, how do you deal with it??
  2. Hey there, I am doing pretty good. I have been battling nausea for about a week now so it has been hard for me to get in my protein and fluids. I used Dr. Chu in Lafayette and had my surgery at Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. I hope you get to use a great surgeon that you are comfortable with. Have fun on your cruise!!!! Talk to ya soon....Steph

  3. hey ya'll....I am now 5 days post-op and I am having some serious cravings. I think I could hurt someone for some fajitas. I know it's probably just head hunger but I can honestly say at this point I am missing food. Did any of you struggle with craving food after surgery?? If so, did it pass and how did you deal with it?? I have been a volume eater my whole life and it has now sank in that I will never be able to eat like that again. Will I be able to enjoy food again and be satisfied with the small amount I will be able to eat??
  4. When were you guys able to have a bowel movement after your surgery?? It has been five days since I have had a bowel movement and don't want to get constipated. I took a little milk of magnesia yesterday but didn't want to take to much. What did you guys do about your bowel movements?? Thanks for any info!!
  5. well, I had my surgery on thursday and am now 2 days post op. I am feeling much better today. It seems like the more I get up and move the less sore I am. I'm kind of nervous about removing my q-ball tomorrow. I'm hoping the pain doesn't get worse after its removed. I haven't reached my protein or liquid goals the last two days but I'm still trying to recover from the surgery itself. Hopefully tomorrow I can really focus on those two goals. Anyway, I can't believe that I am finally sleeved and on my way to a better life. WOOOOHOOOO...HERE'S TO A MORE PROMISING FUTURE :confused1:

    Carbonated Drink question

Girl, I feel your pain. I am addicted to the evil Dr. Pepper also. I have been telling myself that I need to start weening myself off of them so I won't have to go cold turkey but I can't seem to stop drinking them. I do good for a couple of days then the craving for a ice cold Sonic Dr. Pepper creeps up on me and I have to get one. We can do this!!!!!!
  16. hi faithful...congrats on your surgery. I'm still in the process of scheduling my date. I am having mine done with Dr.Chu in Lafayette. I noticed you live in Alex. I live in Pineville. I'm glad to have come across someone so close to home that is going through the same experience. Maybe we could keep in touch and help each other through this process. Good luck on your journey!!!

  20. Well, I went for my preop psych visit on Tuesday and was cleared for surgery. Next step is to be cleared by a cardiologist. If things go well with the cardiologist my surgeon will schedule me for my EGD and Sleeve. The closer it gets to being real the more excited and nervous I get. I hope and pray this surgery helps me get my life back. I am soooooo ready to start living again!!!!!

    Self Pay

My insurace will not cover the sleeve so I have to pay out of pocket for the procedure. The surgeon I have spoken to quoted me 13665.00 for the procedure, plus an additional 500 for the consult, nutr. & psych. I know some of you have went to Mexico for the procedure and I was wondering if you could tell about how much the sleeve procedure cost there.
  25. Well I finally made the decision to have weight loss surgery only to be denied by my insurance company. They will pay for the RNY and the band but not the sleeve. I have my heart set on the sleeve and don't feel comfortable with the other two procedures. Sooooo I have decided to bite the bullet and pay for the surgery myself. I will have to take out a loan but it's investing in myself and I finally think that I am worth it. So wish me luck. I have my 1st consultation appt. on Jan. 13.
