I got the gummy vitamins from GNC. Can't remeber the brand, but they look like orange slices. Taste good and go down fine. Only 2 a day!

I am 2 1/2 months post-op and have lost 47 lbs...NO REGRETS!!! Still eat what I want, still have my wine, etc. I do miss soda, but who really needs it when there is Propel? Good luck!

I did it, it's done, I have a sleeve!

Congrats, Andrea! My doc had me on liquids right after surgery. They did leak test the next day and it was really slow. He wasn't worried. Sent me home with all the normal instructions. My gas lasted in my chest and diaphragm for 3-4 days. So painful when I got home, I was having spasms with every breath. Never heard anyone else having that problem, so I wouldn't worry. Hope they release you soon...good luck! -
I have one 2-inch scar right above my belly button. I am only 2 weeks out, so the bruising isn't even gone yet. Not sure what it will look like, but doc told me it will be barely visible...he used glue (no stitches or staples).

How was your follow-up today? I had mine today too!

Ok, have to get a costco card! Tiff, thank you, but I have never been able to bring myself to drink tea. Or coffee for that matter. I am doing a little better now...just trying to get the Protein in. Thanks all!

Hi guys! I am back at work today and feeling great. Rough 3 days after surgery, but pushed through. Thank you to all of you who prayed for me and my whack-job husband. Thank God, he did a full 180 two days prior to surgery. He was there for me and has been ever since. I am having a hard time getting Protein in and liquids too. I do well to get 1 to 1 1/2 bottles of Water a day. Just feels like I am swallowing a golf ball with every drink. Anything else I can try? I have been mixing powder with pudding and skim milk and drinking Boost and Special K Protein drinks. Anyway, I think I am down almost 20 lbs since I started pre-surgery diet!!! Woohooo! Thanks again for everything!

I am scheduled to be sleeved on Thursday! My surgeon is Dr. Dirk Rodriguez in Decatur, TX and he will be using the SILS method...one of the only ones in the state, I think. You can go to www.mybariatricsolutions.com or www.drdirkweightloss.com to check him out. Good Luck!

Any Last Minute Advice
BigLoser replied to tia_1417's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Tia! I am having my surgery the same day...the 11th! My doctor had me on a high Protein low carb diet 2 weeks out. Then 1 week out, I had to switch to full liquid diet. 2 days out (tomorrow) I have to go Clear liquids. I can't drink anything until Friday morning when they do the leak test. Don't know what I'm going to do. GOOD LUCK on your surgery!! -
That is a nice thought, MlkPas, but my hubby won't listen to anyone. He just told me that he will consider me "damaged goods" if I have the surgery. I guess I am looking at my marriage or the surgery. I sure hope it is easier to get forgiveness rather than permission in this case...because I am having this surgery. My kids (6 1/2 and 8 months) will still love me long after he is gone.

achopp - I am sorry you are going through this as well. I purposely did not share the hair loss possibility with my husband, but he decided to go internet surfing this morning and found it. He says he doesn't want to look at someone with no hair or clown hair (if it grows back a different texture). His ex-wife is a big woman and I was much smaller when we met 10 years ago. He just told me that he is stupid for making the same mistakes (marrying another woman with self image issues). Thanks a lot, Hun, for telling me you made a mistake marrying me! Ugh! On a lighter note...I went to pre-op this morning. 6 more days!

Thanks guys.

Thank you for your kind words...you are right. He is overweight and 12 years older than me. He is afraid he will have to do something with himself or I might look elsewhere. He does not like to be told what to do or how to think, so all I can do at this point is pray. Pray for strength for myself and for understanding and grace for him. So scared this might end badly. :sad0:

So, I am now 7 days pre-sleeve and am on my liquid diet. My husband is still not on board with the surgery and tries to discourage me every chance he gets. He thinks my lifestyle change will somehow affect him. I tried telling him that what I put in my mouth has nothing to do with what he puts in his, but he just tries to make me feel guilty. He thinks it is "absolutely ridiculous" that I want this surgery. Anyone else have an unsupportive significant other? what did you do? Did they eventually come around after the surgery? Thanks for any advice.

Thank y'all!
