  1. My friend and i both gained around 25 lbs back by just eating little but slmetimes bad choices like a junior burger or ice cream here and there The gaining is slow but its scary Im now back on diet and trying to lose again
  2. Im a man had my surgery dec 2009. I started with 356 lbs and after ine year i reached 235 lbs in dec 2010. Now im 262 lbs so i gained quiet a but in the last 6 months. Its easy to gain back the weight if u dont go on diet so this surgery is not magic but its a tool to help u with ur diet
  3. as I mentioned b4 I had my gallbladder removed like two years b4 the sleeve , my dr said that he needed to make an extra incision because I had a scar tissue from the gallbladder surgery. recovery wise, i dont think it made any difference
  4. hello About two years ago , I did Bernstein' diet for three month and I lost around 100 lbs and I felt great, but when I started to introduce the food again to my diet ,I had the worst pain ever, had to call 911 and I thought it was a heart attack as it causes chest pain. Anyway , my dr told me that it's very common to have gallstones after losing lots of weight fast. I had the surgery which was soooo easy , laproscopic , very tiny incisions . I remember that I went for an intreview the net day of the surgey. some diareah after the surgery but it went away , the only problem is when I have fast food or anything with fat, I have to know my way tot the washroom before I eat, because it's so embarassing. 5 minutes after the meal and u HAVE TO GO TO THE WASHROOM. no pain or anything . my surgeon who did my sleeve surgery asked me if I have a gallbladder and when I asked him why? he said that if it's still there, he will remove it as well even without the gallstones. but i had it removed earlier so It wasnt a problem let me know if u need more info
  5. 52 days here post surgey and lost 58.1 lbs i walk for one 1 hour a day

    She Lurks No More

Hello, I had the surgery in Dec 5th ,2009. When I woke up after the surgery , they only thing I was saying " I wish I didnt have it " I hate hospitals .....anyway on the third day I was walking but sitting and getting up were uncomfortable for a week. I started my journey with 356 lbs and now I am 299.2 and my energy is great. I am the cook in the house and I taste all the food I cook , one bite and its going ok. u will know ur limit and how much to eat by urself as U will throw up whenu overeat. cottage cheese was and still my favorite food that gives me protien ,satisfation. good luck
  7. hi ,sorry for being late to answer back . tell me what exactly do u want to know about the flight. I went to lebanon after three days in the hospital in syria, and I flew back to canada-vancouver after 10 days of the surgery. I had juice on the plane and I asked them prior to flight to prepare for me a liquid meal. it was an ok flight. any ore details let me know

  8. Hi , what exactly do u want to know?

  9. hello , I did a diet b4 called Dr, Bernstein diet and I lost all the weight I needed to lose in 3 months(around 100 lbs) , I was so happy , and after three months, I tried to reward my self with a bit of chocolate and BOOM, horrible pain , around my stomach and chest , i had to call 911. and was rushed to the hospital , they thought it was bad acid reflux after they checked my heart and it was good. after all I had those attacks few times b4 they discovered that It was my goal bladder. My dr told me that it is very common when u lose weight fast. i removed my gall bladder and the painwas gone, but I went back to my eating habbits and gained all the weight back. I suggest u check ur gallbladder for gall stones, My dr who did the surgery for me (sleeve one) asked me if I have a gall bladder , I told him that I have removed it and he said, good as I was about to suggest I remove it while doing the sleeve as the probability of gallstones is sooo high good luck dear
  10. hello, I am still on liquids with about three weeks post surgery, I have from time to time " cream of mushroom, cream of broccli" which is a bit thicker than clear liquids. Even when I have clear liquids I hear or feel weird sounds in my stomach. I dont know the exact word to describe it but it's a sound of the stomach working and I can clearly hear it if I close my ears. Is this normal?
  11. Hey lebyvr, I wanted to ask you about the flight back to Canada. I hope everything is still going well for you. Thanks for your post.

  12. hello , I was sleeved on Dec 5th ,2009 in Syria. 4 days post surgery I took a taxi to Lebanon which is 3 hours drive . 10 days post surgery I tooka flight to Vancouver BC. which is about 16 hours flight and around 24 hours in total with airport waiting time. It was a tough flight to be honest with u , I had apple juice and orange juice on the plane as I was still on clear liquids. I think it will be easier for u as u will be able to eat regular food in small portions. reduce the weight of ur handbags as much as u could and good luck.
  13. I did a lot of research and I finally decided to go to syria to have the surgery there. I took that decision because of many reasons: 1 : a friend of mine had been sleeved there and she recommended the dr. 2: I am originally from Lebanon so a family member can accompany me as lebanon is few hours drive away. 3: I speak the language "arabic" 4: 4000$ is the price, including a private room with two beds ,tv fridge......excluding ticket which costed me 1200 $ cad from vancouver canada. anyway , I was sleeved on Dec 5th,2009 ,I weighed then 355lbs today is Dec 22nd,2009 and I was 223lbs which means 32 lbs lost in approx 2 weeks and few days. not bad eh. I threw up once when I decided to add cheese to my soup , what Was I thinking lol I am having delicious soups(mashroum, chicken broth, asparagus, cream of broccli), yougart, protein shakes and juices and taking vitamin pills (centrum) and still taking some pills the dr prescriped. I am so glad I did it and would like to thank many members here who helped me with information to make my decision and get the courage to do it. good luck all
  14. hmmm, when I was out of the OR at the hospital and espacially after I woke up , the only words I was saying were" I wish I didnt do it!" because I felt like crap. It's not an easy surgery and the feeling of throwing up and not being able to ven drink water wasnt fun. but starting from the forth day , everything became different and I am now happy that I did it. yes, I regret it when I smell my favorite food but I come back and feel awesome that I didnt eat from it. I am losing like 1 lb a day since the surgery 5th of dec 2009 and I am loving it day after day. it's going to be hard if u use food for comfort but it's doable and worth it. all in all , I am happy I did it and cant wait to be fit soon. good luck
  15. I was sleeved Dec 5th, had no problem with , broth with few noodles, tea, yougart mixed with Water and salt, and Centrum as a Multivitamin, fresh juices like apple , carrot and last night orange juice. yes I have some pain sometimes on my upper right side I am not hungry all the time but when I smeel food I feel so bad, espacially stuff that I love like sushi ofcourse, u will feel better when u start eating normal food , like rice and meat, but now ur stomach is always empty asking u to eat all the time, it's a phase that will pass " my dr said that"
