Coco, I'm not sure when you can start coffee again but have heard that caffeine can dehydrate you and that is the reason you shouldn't have it early out when getting all your liquids in is difficult. I am 3 1/2 months out and drink 1/2 caff and decaf every morn with lots of soy milk to up protein. It was so good to start that again!. Love your daisy and you ticker!

Anyone come home the same day?
Itstime replied to LyndaRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think this comes down to insurance not wanting to pay for the extra days and remember when this happened with staying in the hospital after maternity delivery and sending the new mothers home the next day. Sometimes it worked, sometimes complications and you take chances going home early. If you feel you will be O.K. with this I hope you are right. Personally I was not ready to leave the hospital until day 3 and could not have gone home the next day after surgery; Its a major surgery and you are left with the followup care yourself. That's just my opinion and I know there are several who swear this isn't a problem and it isn't until something goes wrong. I do wish you well and hope for a smooth easy recovery. -
Welcome Nicola, so glad to hear you are doing well. I too felt cold for awhile post op, still do at times and was always warm bf! Be easy with yourself, take it easy and stay hydrated.

Wonderful, both of you. I haven't tried that in a long time but will plan on it soon!

Well I am going to say it...tmi but burping was not the only thing that surprised me AND my husband. I never did that in front of him but just could not help it. He would say Babe..... I said WHAT, can't help it. Dr. Aceves gave me high five in the hospital so must be doing something right. It thankfully has gotten back to normal, 3 months out and I can act like a lady again.:drool5:

Tiffy, hormone hell describes me at times. Never used to speak up on things too much but now, look out. My daughter said Mom your cranky and pita. I have to say I like being able to voice my opinions, very freeing. I can still say things with humor but the thought gets across! My husband just looks at me, boundaries shifting slightly.

Endoscopy results? What does it mean?
Itstime replied to maxcat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how frustrated you must be but you do not want this surgery until your stomach is healed. It is so fortunate that your doctor found this out bf jumping into an operation like this. Do you have to take nsaids? I'm hoping they can find the problem and heal your stomach so you can go forward healthier. Everything happens for a reason. Hugs to you on hearing good news. -
Woot! Labs came back okay so I guess I'm good to go!

I am so excited for you, it will be here bf you know it! -
I think you will check one day soon and drop 2-3 lbs, your body is still adjusting to this drastic change. Are you getting all your protein in? I found if I upped my protein by body let go of the weight, also water which is still a challange. I was out walking 2 miles the other day and my legs turned to jello and I thought wth! I was dehydrated and hit the wall!!

The only reason I got on the treadmill at home was a nongym day and the weather here is COLD and SNOWEY. Can't wait for spring. Ash you are doing great down 97lb! Looking for spring soon to be outside again to exercise.:crying:

Hope you have a great vacation!! (and no scales) -
Loser, Have you not been taking any meds for acids? I would have had some serious problems with my stomach if not on Nexium. Bought 2 months supply in Mx but now on otc prevacid and I know I couldn't go off them any time soon. Maybe in the future, I am 3 months out.

You have had one heck of a journey and you should be so proud at what you have accomplished, plus sharing this with us all the way. The ability to see how you got through the hard parts will continually help the ones coming behind you. -
How are you feeling???
Itstime replied to pastorgregumc's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 3 months out and I definitely feel so much better each month, more energy and physically feel good since I am working out at the gym, pool 3 x a week atleast. I have a treadmill at home also but the gym really focuses me. I still would like to sometimes drink a tall glass of cold water and I can drink about 3 good swallows but no more. I would say at 2 months out I was pretty back to normal. My health is so improved, no snoring, don't take bp meds and the weight is steadily falling off which is fine with me. I want my skin to have a chance to catch up. I don't forget my 3 vitamins daily and need to find a good calcium pill. Hate to take pills though. I think you will start to feel better when you get all your protein and fluids in, it is hard at first and requires the most effort but it does get easier. Good luck! -
Keys, (love the keys). I was just wondering, do you have any trouble getting enough fluids down while working? I know its not real hot there now but do you think you would have had a tougher time getting enough fluids in the heat of the summer?
Sounds like you are doing great.

I got that at first, almost like a spasm that had to relax. Usually I drank too fast instead of sipping. Maybe some warm liquids/tea would feel better? My stomach felt like a ball for a few seconds until it relaxed. It gets much better later on. Let your surgeon know if it becomes too painful.

Good luck on getting in touch with the real you! I still pass the mirror and look sideways at myself afraid that I still look the same weight. But its such a great feeling to see the new you, like seeing an old friend again, atleast for me, its been a long time coming!

Kabranda, I had to laugh about the 3 requirements to play golf and you are so right there. My husband and I and my daughter and ex played and my daughter and I drove a cart and proceeded to drink our way around the course with many bathroom brakes. We had the best time. I barely play. That could definitely be in your new healthy future. Tiffy, thank you for those pictures, I just love it down there and you are so lucky to live so close to the beach. Please don't kick your two men out for us though! If we have enough people we can stay in a couple of rooms or rental for the weekend. Don't know if that's doable or who else might want to come but what a great idea and lovely coast for a meet and greet! (Your son looks so cute and embarrassed at you guys kissing.) I'm going to two class reunions this summer, one in July and one in August. Lets talk more.
