Meeting the guidelines
Itstime replied to wannalise's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a really tough time getting fluids and protein in as I should and sometimes felt no energy and dragging all the time. I always felt I was pushing fluids so hard and still didn't make it so I drank vitamin drinks that had more carbs than I wanted but knowing how little calories you are getting in overall it certainly didn't stop my weight loss. Some sleevers only worried about getting in fluids and not the protein in the first few weeks, very important to stay hydrated. Even now, at 4 months I am still watching my fluids, my urine is still concentrated at times and have to keep pushing. My protein is good tho, and keep taking your vitamins. -
Cafe Du Monde! I love New Orleans!!!! My husband and I ate at The Court of Two Sisters last time there and loved the food. Of course bf I had the sleeve. Good for you having a treat of a beignet, (trust your spelling), you have to have a treat!

I am so glad you are feeling better, that sounds like you were in so much pain! Hope all stays quiet for you to heal and be on your way.

Talk about slip ups, I made some really good soup and my husband wanted Grandys biscuits so I made them and I tried a couple bites and ended up eating a whole biscuit! I couldn't imagine not suffering with this slip up but it went down so well! Scary.

I am so sorry you got the drainage bag irritated. Maybe it will feel so much better if the doctor takes it out. Its a funny feeling but once its gone I think you will feel better. Hope it is smooth sailing from now on. Congratulations!

I am very happy with my sleeve and do not regret anything. I can have anything I want, still can't eat too much dense meat, doesn't sit well on my stomach, even in small amounts but get plenty of chicken and fish and greens in also. I don't know if this is just me but when I am most hungry and grazing all day, (good things), then I drop a pound or two. Like my body lets go of the weight, even after I eat so much! I'm not complaining!! Love my sleeve!

I feel so bad for you, I too had nausea on the second day, could not get all the blue dye down and the day I left I was miserable. We stayed an extra day at the hotel and I walked the halls and had ice chips which helped. Something cold felt better on my tummy. It will get better!!! Every day you will be amazed at how much better you feel. Prayers and hugs to you. Linda

So happy for you Nikki, I can feel your excitement! You will get there I have no doubt! You are lookin GOOD! -
We bought the nexium mups at the pharmacy right across the street from the hospital and it was I believe for $80 for 40mg, which I halved for the dose of 20mg per day per Dr. Aceve. Didn't need an RX for it either. The mups dissolve in water. He likes you to stay on the mups until about 3 months for precaution, instead of pills, but you might check again with Dr. Aceves staff.

Congratulations on your sleeve. About the pill, could you not break it in two? Seems you could possibly get a whole pill down with the same method instead of breaking it in two? I have a horse pill to get down and do it with a full mouth swallow. It does go down. Keep sipping and welcome to the bench!

Stress is so harmful and sometimes you just don't realize how your body is reacting to it. I used to deal with stress by eating like you but maybe it revs up your metabolism even more and now that you are a lean person burns off more calories? Wish you could turn off that stress! I wish you good peaceful thoughts!

10K, wow! You are makeing some serious goals, Good Luck!!!

How about the issues with your low BP? Are you feeling good even tho you lost again? I am sorry your body is not done losing but keep eating the increased calories and I know it will settle in soon. You must hate your scale!

Take me with you!! Key West is my favorite place. We rent bikes for transportation and have the best time. I am so jealous! Have a margarita for me at Sloppy Joes. I'll be looking for you in their bar cam.

Well JUST doing those two workouts is tough. I did a couple zumba classes and it was twisting my knees too much. Maybe when I lose more weight it will get easier. -

Too funny Thin and I know what you mean about still feeling you are in a size 20 body. Just doesn't seem possible you can fit in the smaller sizes. I'm in a size 16 straight leg jean and the legs are a tad big, still dealing with a pad of circular fat below my waist that bugs me. No butt but this pad, go figure. -
102lbs in a size 16 (coming down from a size 26/28 100 pounds ago)!

Good for you in getting back in the jogging mode. You are a lot younger than me and I bet you will be running marathons this summer!

O.K. I jogged for 4 times of a minute each and walked for 3 minute segments and my right knee was calling me at the end. I have to be careful with that but I still work out 4 x a week. I saw Al Roker works out on his treadmill everyday and then ices one of his knees...humm do want to baby my knee, would hate to ruin it. Anyone else fear that? Anyone have an incline in the treadmill?
