places to order samples of protein drinks, etc
Itstime replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Food and Nutrition
Wow, thank you Oregon for compiling that list. I have so many things saved on my "favorites" from you all. Hope all is well with you. -
We'll be thinking of you and know you will be on your way to losing some serious weight! That list you made reminds me of a few things left for me to get. The best to you and let us know how you are doing.

Very well put, exactly how I feel. So glad you are taking charge of the rest of your life, but wonder about all the upcoming milestones myself. Please blog soon after your surgery and let us know everything! Good luck!

Itstime replied to Gingin33's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gingin33, I know how excited you must be, I go back and forth but mostly have my head around this surgery and am excited also! About the plane ride, I used to dread flying and had to get my head in a good place and know that I HAD to fly to get to where I was going, its just a means to hurry up that process and especially to get you to the surgeon who is going to change your life.. That xanax will definitely help you. Take your ipod with your favorite songs and zone out! -
Watch those herbs pre and post surgery!

Dr. Aceves told me to stop all over the counter meds including vitamins except for my prescription BP med, one week bf surgery. -
Jane, sounds like you had a great holiday and especially with the cocktails. I wanted to ask, were you able to drink all of a drink or sip sip sip? When you drank did it settle in your stomach or upset it? I am curious about the drinking since seems definitely an occasional treat.

deedee, I know what you mean about relationships and especially ones with your family. Sometimes its something within themselves they can't get past and when you are successful or make a big change they don't know how to take it. Its hurtful but hard to break out of the image they have of you. Guess you will just have to show her the new you. Another thing that is maybe hard for her is that you won't know when to stop and get too thin/sick etc. That is another way of being out of control. Oh happy medium!!

Norma, I am so sorry for your knee problems, but hope everything will work out for your total health recovery and be on your way soon. Congratulations on your weight loss and know we are here for you. Remember keep pumping your foot on the immobile leg to keep that blood going!

I have cigna and Cajun is right. Maybe in the future but who knows, not waiting around for them or jumping through hoops. I have seen on this site that medicaid pays for it, really surprised!

A 10! I haven't seen that for decades. Good for you deedee. I can't wait to throw out all my clothes. Just maybe a few jeans, but more than likely outdated for sure. Make a clean sweep...

I was wondering about a question that several of you had post surgery about not urinating, urgency, loss of pressure since your surgery. Can I ask if you still feel that way. DownInSoCal was in a study I believe and wanted to know if this resolved? Thanks again

We'll be thinking of you on your surgery. I hope you are having a good night post op! Keep us posted.

Thanks, didn't know if it was a neurological issue or what, but was worried. I'm glad it has been a bonus for some to have the surgery.

Like Norma, I decided to start my pre op diet early and see how the shakes and clear protein drinks went down. Isopure is awful! Not doing that. Not sure what to do that first week yet but tried the Gnc vanilla shakes and liked them but feel like someone else said they would be too sweet later on, maybe thin them with more soy milk. Liked the soy powder better. So am doing two shakes and then evening meal of meat and veg, no carbs or limited just yet and I lost 5 lbs in two days. I also used to have 2 glasses of wine almost daily and don't do that so that is a hugh drop in carbs for me. I feel better! Bought a digital scale. Saw dee dee's tip on Bariatric eating.com's pom razz sangria of 30gr protein and that looks really good. As always the best to you all. Thanks for the great tips Cajun. Come on Dec 4!!!

Depression After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Itstime replied to Bob_350lbs's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for sharing this information. It helps me to realize that there are several reasons why each of us end up obese and they don't go away with surgery and weight loss. The mind is a powerful thing and what you see in the mirror isn't always whats important. The fight has just begun. I am saving the list of books! You sound like you are taking care of yourself in your journey to good health. -
3 weeks and 3 days post op STALL?
Itstime replied to charitymarroquin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I read these blogs about it taking a half hour to get one little meal down, seems like you must be doing this all day. This must take too much of your time! I thought I was a slow eater.. Know it has to be done though.... -
