Newmom, I know what you mean about the incision being covered. I clean them twice a day with alcohol and cover them all! The big one is itching and seems scabbed over but not chancing anything. I had surg Dec 4. Glad you are finding protein you can tolerate. I have a whole box of samples for shakes that I can't stand. I should have gotten unflavored powder and put it in drinks or does that have a smell also? I'm just so glad I feel better every day!

Tiffy, I don't have anything to suggest except to stop beating yourself up over this. I think he needs counseling also. I know you want that sweet boy back and he is still in there, he's at a tough age also. Hormones starting in, peer pressure, girls coming along. My daughter was 13 when I divorced and my heart hurt for her, I could not reach her but did have many counselors working with her and somehow we got through it. She is 33 now and I sometimes wonder how this could be the same person. I marvel at her maturity and is so smart, directed, I feel blessed. I know how it hurts tho and sometimes you cry in the shower. Vent away tho and have faith in yourself and your husband, it will get better.

Itstime replied to hope4204's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope, I know what you mean, how can I be hungry? I was hungry at the airport home, the smells drove me crazy and I just couldn't understand it. Of course I am still on thins and start about the same time as you on cream soups etc and will not skip ahead since I am dropping weight, but things should change when we get some real food...WE CAN HOPE!!! -
why do I still feel so sick!
Itstime replied to carlouv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry you are having so much nausea. I did too the second day but everyday after that felt stronger and when I started nexium everyday and gas x strips I felt so much better! Plus that is a lot of meds on your new tummy, just my opinion. But the shakes don't go down with me either, every day a struggle to try something new. Hope this resolves for you soon, bc when things start to feel better and the tummy is happy, life is good and you are on your way. -
You look so good Tiffy, just beaming now. Thank you for all the help you give us and the encouragement to keep on and not give up!

Donna, talk about unfair. My husband put himself on a diet with me and drops weight overnight. He's a steak and football potato with mounds of butter and feels that is normal portion. He can't believe what I eat (or drink) now. But we are both getting healthier and glad he is realizing what good eating habits this will hopefully bring about. I am still on the clears, thins so will be ready for the Jason deli's soups soon. I am saving all your recipe's for ideas,I'm a basic cook. Steph about the salt, I can say I am more addicted to salty things than sweet or anything else. Coming home in the airport we were continually looking for soups to eat and a lady next to us had a huge plate of everything nachos and I was drooling. I could eat the whole plate bf...no more. I am babying my sleeve. I feel better every day--life is good!

That's it, Donna's Recipes!! I'm surprised your husband doesn't eat all that good food. What's he eat? Popcorn once in awhile has to be o.k.
-
Donna, can I please come to eat at your house? You are so resourcefull and it all sounds so good!!! Lets start your diary of what to eat at Donna's. YUMM

Ice chips were the best for me with my uncomfortable tummy, just let them melt. Nothing else felt good. I had a good bit of nausea on day 2 that caught me offguard, nothing was moving up or down. Dr. Aceves kept asking are you passing gas??? High five when I did. Walking also helped, even when I didn't want to move an inch. Each day was better and better. Now waiting out the clears.

I am glad you looked into the possibility of a deep clot in your leg. That is dangerous but it sounds like you had a superficial clot which is also painful. The test was negative for a dvt but should have found the superficial diagnosis. Anyway treatment was good and glad you are on the mend.

Well, I leave tomorrow for San Diego and yesterday I came home sick from work with intense nausea. I work in a pre school and two of the children had the stomach bug so... I went home and spent the day in bed, so close to vomiting. Nothing worse and I thought am I ready to do this drastic surgery and will I feel the same way post op. Today much better but have the (tmi) issues the other end. Surgery not until friday and feel I should be ready. All you "losers" please keep us in your prayers! Good luck all you December sleevers!

Itstime replied to Megan_SF's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Netherfield, Thank you for going over your journey for us. I love hearing these success stories and for coming back and telling us your experience. Congratulations on your weight loss and your post about exercising. I would love to be able to eventually jog with my daughter, maybe do a 5k. Again, thanks! Linda -
Chancie, I am thankful for this site also and can find most topics that I have been concerned about here or just ask. I hope we all have a healthy and safe holiday season, especially with all the seasonal food issues! Thanks VSG family!

TennJenn, Have you gotten any action on selling your house? We have been thinking about that also but the market it not good. I also know that I will have to do a lot of painting, not painted since we built it except touch ups. Landscape spiffing up etc. I love my home but its too big for us now. Just want to get out our money....

Hychap, I am so sorry you are having a hard time with getting over your cold and getting your surgery scheduled. You sound very organized with your supplies. Think good thoughts and take care of yourself, you don't want to chance being sick for the anesthetic. Keep us posted.
