  1. 1Linda, Just saw your pics, you look so good! What a wonderful difference your sleeve has made! Good working it!!
  2. I found out not to drink while eating recently. I was at a seafood restaurant and I ordered talapia. I am about 1 month post op and felt that would be soft and easy. Well I had drank some protein water waiting for a table and when my order came I could only eat 2 bites and it got stuck! Very uncomfortable and ended up losing it in the rest room, just slid right back out. I won't do that again! So there is just no room, maybe later on you can have liquid but certainly for me not now..

    Stretching your sleeve

1Linda, That refried beans with cheddar and sour cream sounds so good, should go down easy also! rcarter, when I was on liquids things went down so easy and was surprised how much I could eat, but with soft solids is a whole different story. 4 bites of meat is it, no vegetables or fruit, no room! I think when you get to more solid food you will have restriction and don't forget you will be eating so much less than before and can't help but lose weight. You will be fine!

    I'm one of y'all

I'm so glad you are sleeved! I too was caught off guard with the nausea, even threw up the blue dye which was scarey. Thought I would hurt the sutures. I know I only got just a little down, enough to turn a bright green poo later. I could only suck on ice for 2 days and walk. But started feeling better every day when the gas moved. You will too! Now you can join us burpers and well......, lets have a burp off!

    total knee surgery-in hospital

Norma, I just found your post about your knee surgery. I was wondering how you were doing. I have known friends that had that done and they said the therapy was really rough. Keep working that knee and soon you will be up and out the door using that new knee. Good to hear the surgery is behind you! Linda
  6. Did anyone hear about the earthquake in Mexicali yesterday? They had to evacuate the hospital and was wondering if anyone from here was there at the time. It was 5.8! Hope everyone was safe.
  7. Norma,

Just wanted to see how your knee surgery went. Haven't seen you post. Hope all went well.

    December Sleevers

Hello Dec sleevers, I am 3 weeks out and have been on mushies for awhile, some very soft foods that I chewed to death and doing very well. I feel great, lost 23 lbs and my clothes are loose! I still have a tough time getting all the protein in and seem to be still carrying a water/drink bottle around with me. I have been walking 3 1/2 miles 3 x week, more if the weather permits. My stomach rules and I respect it. The nexium every morning feels so good and the occas gas x also but next week will be trying some more foods. Can see I will be taking it slow introducing new foods. I cannot believe how easy the weight comes off! My stomach scars are all healed except the biggest one which is just about. I am anxious to hear all the december sleevers next month and thanks again for all the posters here that have paved the way for me. Hugs to you all!:001_unsure: Linda
  10. Cajun, I am so sorry you are having problems with your esophagus, and especially since you didn't even know you had it. That is a good reminder for us to have the UGI to be safe. I hope this resolves and you get good news soon. Congrats on your weight loss!! Stay well

    Linda

  11. Hello all, My daughter was talking to me tonight about googling the sleeve surgery and that you should wear a bracelet, (she is a nursing student). So I don't remember seeing that coming up on this forum. She said if you need medical care and you are unconscious it could be crucial information. Anyone?
  12. Itstime

    Medical bracelet?

Well, if you did have a mri scan, would the staples be a problem? I don't know. Also, NG tube issues? I just want to be aware of any issues bc I cannot assume it won't be and you don't always plan to be unconscious in the ER.
  13. I am 12 days post op and I have always felt hungry! I am thinking of all the things I will eat when I get to mushies. But I am surprised also at how much soup I can eat now. I think our stomachs must empty fast and we will get full longer when we go to mushies/solid. The soups go down so easy! I am still losing very well tho, down 14lbs, 16lbs if you count first weigh in in the am. Can't wait!
  14. So happy for you Chancie, you are showing us how to keep on and don't give up losing that weight. Thanks for all your giving to us!

    Normal!

Rosebud, I am doing so well, still on full liquids but lots of creamed soups and they help keep my energy up. I try so hard to get in the protein and water. What's up with your sister? Is it her meds? I am so sorry she's not feeling well. Hope that everything evens out and she starts feeling good again. I love my sleeve. Linda

    new here too

Mary, You were there just bf me, surg on Dec. 4. I loved everyone there and got the best treatment, especially Adriana. I am still on full liquids but it gets better every day. Good luck to you and welcome.

    Addicted to the redstuff...

Tiffy, That sounds so good! Can't wait to go to Subway, my husband loves those meatball subs and I may be able to get half of his sandwich since he is trying to watch his weight. He's also a big pizza fan but know I can't take the dough, just toppings. Any suggestions on how to prep a pizza?

NSV: I don't believe it myself!

    Feeling weak

Susan, you really had a rough time. I had not heard you say your incision was infected. The main one?, and what happened? So glad you overcame all that and are doing so well! I also have to sip all day but I know I'm not getting as much as I should. Most of the time I'm fine but know it has to be upped. Linda

    Normal!

I am so happy for you Rosebud, when I saw you in Mx you looked so good and I would never have thought you were ever heavy! Your surg was 6 months ago? Wow!

    Post Op 18 days

Welcome Shontel glad to have you here. Everything sounds good with you. I had my surg Dec 4 and still am not getting all my protein in. It does get better with diet when I can have mushies also. Do you take nexium or similar? That for me saved my tummy. Not everyone has issues but I did and my doc orders it for 3 months. Keep us posted!
  23. Hello, just wanted to say good luck, we will be praying for you through this and post when you can. You can do this!! I am 11 days out from surg and feel great. I am keeping my tummy happy and all is well. It will go fast.

    Linda

    Slowly getting things in order

You are going to love Dr. Aceves and his staff. Had surg Dec 4 and everyone was so thorough and nice, especially Adriana the weekend nurse, can't tell you how much that meant to me. Saw Rosebud there and she looks so good! Her sister was having surg. They have it all down and you will be well cared for. I know now what the say about how clean the hosp was. They mopped every day and cleaned the shower. Floors were spotless. Take care Linda
