Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
janagram replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am actually getting into panic mode. I had my sleeve over 3 years ago, lost 130 pounds, and in the last 6 months have gained 30 pounds. I am falling back into some bad habits..... I came to the boards to maybe get inspired to get back on the wagon. I spent a lot of money to have this sleeve done and I don't want to be stupid and un-do it! YIKES! -
haha...yeah, get used to it! I had my surgery 3 years ago and I am always cold. I wear a lot of clothes and sweaters. I have a boot dryer I put my slippers on so when I put them on in the evening they are toasty. I have a rice bag I heat in the microwave to warm my feet when I go to bed. Yup...just part of the deal. Just remember...cold hands (and feet) warm heart.

Constipated... What else can I do? TMI

I had surgery 3 years ago and I have had lots of trouble with constipation. The thing that worked the very best for me was the yogurt Activia. 1 a day does the trick. -
I had my VST 2 years ago and it is the best thing I could ever have done for myself!! I lost 130 pounds and while I should lose more, I am fairly happy with how I look and best of all, I can RUN!! One of the first things you notice as you lose weight is you move freer! It is like someone squirted WD40 in you and it is just EASY to get around! (Now, even over weight, I was fairly active. No, I didn't exercise, but I was not a complete couch potato either. The funniest thing was when the heart specialist had me do a tread mill test pre-surgery and he couldn't believe that at 330 pounds I was able to do as well as I did!) But losing weight made it EASIER! I had no idea how much easier!! I hadn't thought it was a problem until the weight was off!! I never had a lick of trouble with the surgery. All went extremely smooth. I will say I was calm and cool right until the very last hour or so before surgery. THEN I started to panic!! So I told them and they gave me a little something........Don't be ashamed to ask!! Why put yourself through that? I think the most irritating thing is when they wake you up from that lovely drug induced dream after the surgery...sheesh! LOL! My advice is follow the after diet and do not start eating sugars!! Once you start "cheating" it is pretty dang hard to get back on the wagon!! So just don't!! Find a good gym after you have recuperated a bit (a couple of months for me) and start some classes.Yoga is very fun and there are beginner classes and if you have a good instructor they can help modify some of the moves. Just get up and move!! Don't be afraid!! Good luck!
