I had my VST 2 years ago and it is the best thing I could ever have done for myself!!
I lost 130 pounds and while I should lose more, I am fairly happy with how I look and best of all, I can RUN!!
One of the first things you notice as you lose weight is you move freer! It is like someone squirted WD40 in you and it is just EASY to get around!
(Now, even over weight, I was fairly active. No, I didn't exercise, but I was not a complete couch potato either.
The funniest thing was when the heart specialist had me do a tread mill test pre-surgery and he couldn't believe that at 330 pounds I was able to do as well as I did!)
But losing weight made it EASIER! I had no idea how much easier!! I hadn't thought it was a problem until the weight was off!!
I never had a lick of trouble with the surgery. All went extremely smooth.
I will say I was calm and cool right until the very last hour or so before surgery. THEN I started to panic!! So I told them and they gave me a little something........Don't be ashamed to ask!! Why put yourself through that?
I think the most irritating thing is when they wake you up from that lovely drug induced dream after the surgery...sheesh! LOL!
My advice is follow the after diet and do not start eating sugars!! Once you start "cheating" it is pretty dang hard to get back on the wagon!! So just don't!!
Find a good gym after you have recuperated a bit (a couple of months for me) and start some classes.Yoga is very fun and there are beginner classes and if you have a good instructor they can help modify some of the moves. Just get up and move!!
Don't be afraid!!
Good luck!
